for me, i used the codebreaker + usb drive method. that seemed to work a lot quicker. but if you got that far, just keep trying it. it's bound to work. worst case scenario, you would have to burn another cd with all of the other extras included

i have never used the installer method so i dont know exactly how that works. i am sure there are some details in a tutorial somewhere. my favorite places to go are www.exploitstation.com and www.ps2hd.com. i got mine working from ES first, and found ps2hd later on. they both have info and tutorials. so go read up on some stuff in the forums first because it's guaranteed that most of the basic questions have been answered. that is all i can do to help you.

You've got two cdrs, yeah? - One made with ARMAX program with cdloader.elf on it which you load through ARMAX media player - And one made with the independence installer program (which you should put cogswaploader.elf, ps2menu (as the launcher) and any other .elfs you want). You've loaded this using cdloader.elf and it gives an error?... just keeping trying with it, if you've got the installer screen loading on your ps2, you've done the hardest bit right, as superXL says, keep trying and you'll get it working

Hey man, i had same problem when i loaded my exploit disc with cdloader.elf through ARMAX. How are you loading yours?, modchip?
Anyway, if you keep rebooting and trying the same disc it will work eventually - it did for me, i realised i'd burned it at too high a speed. If it wont work after 5 attempts, re-burn at 1x speed!

You can get it here http://rapidshare.de/files/6459630/KLDAT.rar.html let me know if the link goes bad.I did mention a way to get it,but you would have to extract it from the keylauncher already compiled.An easier way is just make a KL.DAT file by opening up notepad and typing in your button configurations,then browse down to where it says save as type and select all files instead of having it listed as a .txt file then type in KL.DAT as the name and save it.

Extract KLDAT.rar with WinRAR. then open the KL.DAT file with notepad.
youll get this:
Then all you do is edit the kl.dat like i did above.

Strange enough, I've already found the bin and cue files when I opened Keylauncher. Should I go ahead I write those?

If it is already compiled and has a .bin and .cue file you can go ahead and burn it then boot it up to have it install.I don't think the already compiled keylauncher has a big Title.db file with a bunch of compatible PS1 games in it to make sure your trigger disc works though.To extract from the .bin file from the keylauncher already compiled exploit,you can use IsoBuster to extract from it or something similiar.When you extract from the keylauncher it was mainly to get the .elf and .irx module files,but you can find them by doing searches or related PS2 game console sites such as http://www.exploitstation.com/ and http://www.ps2savetools.com for tools to help build the system.cnf file to use for pendrive method or Title.db editors an so forth.I'm sorry but I can't post my email address as it is against the forums rules though.

I have a V9 ,network adapter and HDD but no type of mod.
Can i make an exploit memory card with a backup copy of HD Advance 3.0 ? This is the best program around, right?
I mean not myself..i will go to a friend with a modded console and he will create the memory card trick for me.Will it run on my un-modded PS2?
Can i put DivX and Mp3 on PS2 Hdd and play them?

yes, you will have TONS of FUN after you get the MC exploit going. it will take a little more effort to get the DivX, and mp3 to work but it is possible. not really something i'd suggest for newbies, unless you learn immediately.

Well I'm not going to play PS1 games on it, so I probably won't need title.db. Ok will I need these .elf and .irx files? Because I'm new to working with PS2 files, and I'm going a little slow. So I'll probably need to do a few files at a time. Thanks!

Ok but will i be able to use a backup copy of HDD Advance 3.0 on the memory card?
I heard that HD Loader works because it's free but this 3.0 one seems to be better since it's a new version with DVD9 support & all.
So i would like to use this one if possible.

@ptikobj
it's not about playing ps1 games. you need the title.db file because that is what the ps2 looks at (on the memory card) to see what's in the cd tray in order to perform the exploit. if you choose not to have the title.db, then i have to assume that you have a mod chip that allows you to skip over booting from the ps2 drive (or discless boot). but if you dont have a modchip then you will have to use the title.db file and any ps1 cd that works as a trigger cd.
@flowrent
HDA 3 is a repackaged version of the latest HDLoader. the latest hdloader already HAD dvd9 support. then later on HDA3 comes out and all of a sudden, they have it too. hda3 just makes it convenient so you dont have to worry about exploiting your memory card. but the exploit is free, HDL is free, elf files are free. the only things that arent free, are the tools you need to do the exploit. but if you already have them, then everything works out with no extra chedda coming outta your pocket.
to answer your other question, i dont think that a backup of HDA3 will do the job. i think you need an original. but there is a way to do the exploit with that, but i never tried it. go to http://www.exploitstation.com and read the faqs about doing the exploit with HDA, or a cheat device. i used the [codebreaker + USB drive] method since i happened to have both of them already. and it only took me 30minutes to figure it all out because i was being lazy.

the latest HDL is 0.7c
it's patched to cover a lot of known problems/issues and whatever else. there are FAQS and Tutorials on both sites. just search through the forums for your answers. i guarantee they will be there.

To tell you the truth, all this stuff really blows my mind. L-Burna, do you have your own website, or some way of talking to you personally about making the exploit? Better yet, are there any pre-made exploits out there that I can just write to the disk?
