Is the SLPS, SLPM PAL or NTSC. I know SLUS or SCUS is NTSC and SLES or SCES is PAL. Anybody know? Please help.

SLPM is NTSC, it's just that the game comes from Japan. As for SLPS, I'm not sure what it is, but I think it's the same.

I would like to add a few games to the list:
Alien Hominid: Use the PAL to NTSC patcher.
Contra- Shattered Soldier: Select NTSC on the first menu screen.
Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore- Use PAL to NTSC patcher.
Katamari Damacy- Use PAL to NTSC patcher.
Outrun Coast to Coast: Use PAL to NTSC patcher.
Final Fantasy X-2: Use PAL to NTSC patcher.
Final Fantasy XII: Use PAL to NTSC patcher.

^^Valmont^^^,
If the game has a NTSC/PAL selector, you do not need to patch the game.
However if you've already patched it, try running it in PAL mode instead. I had to do this with Contra Shattered Soldier; i patched it, loaded the game only to find out that it has a selector.
Or if you still have the original game/file, just reburn it without patching.

Got a bit of a problem here. I have tried to patch Colin McRae Rally 04 to NTSC(I'm running it off a USB hard drive, not a DVD) because when I used it on the hard drive, the colors are good, but the screen is cut off at the top and rolls vertically(I have a DMS4 SE Lite in my console, set to NTSC video mode). When I try to boot the game, it black-screens on me(I used the PAL to NTSC patcher with Y-Fix). I still have the unpatched SLES ID of the game, so my question is, how do you put back the original SLES into the disc image?
EDIT: Never mind, I found out I had to use ADR. This could probably also work on a DVD. This could be added to the list:
Colin McRae Rally 04- Black screens with PS2 PAL-NTSC Patcher with Y-Fix, but works with ADR(you can perfectly center the screen in-game).

@valmont: Since PAL & NTSC run at different video speeds, you will never be able to sync the audio with the video exactly on a game. Unless someone writes a utility to speed up or slow down all the audio (which is next to impossible), they will always be out of sync.
@limelight: To play a Japanese or Euro game in your NTSC U.S. system, you'll need either a m0dch1p or swap magic. I use the Swap Magic v3.6 for all my imported games. Works like a charm.

Modchips though, DO syncronize audio and video when displaying PAL games in NTSC mode. I have a PAL backup(Red Baron), which is unpatched, just forced NTSC video mode in my DMS4, and the game's audio and video are fully in sync. Also patched Colin McRae Rally 04 with ADR to run it without the screen rolling around in USBeXtreme, and audio and video are fully synced, except I have some slowdowns in gameplay(like I care, I used to have it on my computer and it played much worse than that; I have a crappy Pentium III computer, so duh). Same with Colin McRae Rally 2005.

hey all stupid question but...does using the PAL-nstc patch also region change??? I have been using dycrypter for a long time now (grt software) but mostly for DVD's.
I am in a PAL region and have purchased an NSTC PS3 60gb, and as all games in my region are PAl/zone locked i need to first convert them to NSTC and at the same time make sure they are region free...if any of this makes sense...cheers from downunder

Hi everyone if you patch a game from NTSC 2 PAL and they dont work this, is wat i do: first i put the image of the game on the harddrive and then i rebuild it using this guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/18/275350 and then i patch it from NTSC to pal(and pick pn selector) and then i burn it i have only tried this with marvel ultimate alliance because thats the only game that i had to rebuild so far and when the game loads it will ask you to pick a signal i pick the PAL just the PAL one not the PAL y-fix i tried that and it did'nt work and i dont know about NTSC because i have never tried it but i think it will be black and white from bhee

hi everyone i had a orignal copy of marvel ultimate alliance but it was NTSC and i live in the PAL region so i re-copyed it and pacthed it (like i said before) and the game worked ok it was in couler and every think was ok but the only problem was that the screen was a bit off centre so i left that and one of my cousins told me that if i buy a rgb scart cable the orignal game(what would normally be black and white) would play in couler, so today i went to this shop called game(i think its only in the U.K) and i brought a rgb scart cable for £14.99(the cable by its self would be about £5 but because this one had an audio attacher thing was when you could connect a audio device to it, plus a adaptor to connect a gun to it, it was £14.99) and the game played in couler so there is no point in patching a game if there is no couler because you can just buy a rgb cable and it will save you a lot of dvds from bhee

Anybody try and patch Singstar 80's?
It worked for me. The PAL version boot up on my NTSC PS2 but during gameplay I had A/V sync issues. The video was going to fast for the audio.
I think this is due to the framerate (NTSC is 30 and PAL is 25). Anybody else have this problem?

You can just use Swap Magic to force the game into PAL mode. There's a video mode option that you can set to Normal, NTSC or PAL(what you need) mode. You need to center the screen in-game. If your game has no screen centering option, you're stuck with a screen cut off at the top.

so i follow the guide here, and it should work on my PS2 (modded)

EDIT: - I patched the game but i got a 2nd message saying
Pal to NTSC : patched

does it mean the file was patched and is playble on NTSC tv set? or did the patch fail..
EDIT : again... final this time
- i burnt it and tried it..the game loaded well..but once you click any option in the main menu i.e Single player, or Multiplayer option..the game reverts to it's spinning up down screen and fails to play/load.

Quote: - My PAL had Splinter cell Pandora tomorrow..he made a backup for me, via an ISO image...which I burn't.. sadly it was a PAL and can't pLAY ON my system (cuz of flippin screen), etc
- I can rip the game...but i use Alcohol 120 which gives me mds/mdf format...
- I guess that's not patch able? So i need to have it in a required ISO format? that is my question.
- if the answer is yes..then i will use the necessary file iso converter...if Nero isn't a good choice to use
OK. To rip a dvd into a .iso file, use DVD Decrypter. It's a free program that you can download here:
hxxp://fileforum.betanews.com/sendfile/1011845169/1/SetupDVDDecrypter_3.5.4.0.exe
The very first post in this thread gives you a step by step instruction on how to create the .iso, patch the .iso, then burn the .iso.

I have the same issue with Smackdown 2007 gabroo, any help would be appreciated. I created a thread about just this problem in the PS2 games forum. The PAL unconverted image works fine, except for the obvious problem of not displaying properly on my NTSC set.

aha thankx... but in my previous post. I did do it. *see the edits*
anywayz - end result.. the PAL patch didn't work properly ..if fixed the main menu only, starting a game results in the scrolling screen again...and then the disc fails to load as i mentioned.
* yes i decrypted, patched and burnt*
i'm curious as to how eleazarm got theirs to work providin we did roughly the same process i guess.
well i was reccomended to use another patch program , and try. But I have yet to do it.
