Hello everyone, I too was having problems with the audio in this game, I burned under Nero and the audio was choppy, I burned it under DVD Decrypter and got the same results. I then remebered that Nero just came out with an updated version for Nero 6, so i went to there web site and dowloaded the patch. I the tried backing up the game again and it works perfectly, just like the original. No more audio problems.Everyone who is using Nero to back up there game should make sure they have updated there Nero 6. It took me 4 tries to finally get it to work, but the last try was when I downloaded the new patch from Nero. Im using Ritek 1x DVD-R.

recording unit controller
aspi manager initialization failed
cd/dvd rom recording unit controller
(red circle with an x) intialization failed.
after this, the program freezes, i have to tell task manager to stop it, because it uses 100 % of my computer. any ideas?

if you read andy's instructions you will see that he says to extract the file, what he meant was export the file, like I said, read the guide in the link in my post above, scroll down to the part about cdvdgen, then you will see how to use it.

andrew31,
Where did you get the name of the disc? You state to type "sles 52545" in the name box under the volume tab. I was wondering if this is the same for every game or is it specific to each game. How do you find this information out.
Thanks

First off correct me if I am wrong on any of these parts.
1. Open ISO buster and find the iso file.
2. Select all files in ISO buster and extract to a folder
3. Move files from folder to CD/DVD Gen exactly as they are in ISO buster
4.Click volume and fill in the info
Disc name: sles-52545
Producer name:PLAYSTATION
License area:America
5.Click record and save as star.iml
Now I get "ASPI loading file failed" and cannot get any further.
How do I fix that problem or have I did something wrong?
Thanks for any help

I think we are at same spot too. I can save the .iml file but the the ASPI error comes up and I do not think that is the error we are suppose to get.

Jdilla and mugz,
Jdilla you are correct. I downloaded that file a LONG time ago and totally forgot about it, sorry. You can download that file here:
http://nero.com/us/WNASPI32.DLL.html
You have to put this file directly into the CD DVD Gen program folder.
It should be under the Program Files folder
in Windows.
Sorry about that guys that completely slipped my mind. That should fix your problem though.

scorsese,
Can I get a CDVDgen ISO builder from you. I am reading the tutorial you posted. I have CD/DVD generator, will it build a ISO and if it will how do I set that up.
Thanks

mugz,
you already have CD DVD Gen?
ISO builder is a seperate program, i personally have never used it so I can't say to much about it. All I know is that you need to use either that or MS-DOS to actually create the ISO. CD DVD Gen will not do it (at least it won't to my knowledge).
ISO builder seems like it would be easy to use just do a google search for it and I'm sure you can find it. Possibly someone has already posted a link for it.
Or you can follow the above guide I posted if you prefer to use MS-DOS.
Just go with whichever you feel comfortable with.

Couldnt find the iso builder anywhere.
I did the DOS like in the tutorial. It would say
1 file(s) copied
but when I check folder it is not there. So where is my ISO file going or am I just not doing it right?

I finally got the game to work. After I downloaded the wnaspi32.dll patch, I was able to back up the game. It works great. I was also able to back up another game I was having trouble with (Shellshock: Nam' 67) using the same method.
andrew31,
Do you know if this method can be used for any game or just certain ones? I like this method better than any other I have used. The ISO that is created is much smaller than the original ISO created from DVD Decryptor or Nero. Since the image is much smaller the game seems to load and play very fast.
Thank you so much for your help. I learned a lot from this thread.

Jdilla,
Are you saving the patch directly to the CD/DVD Gen folder? If so, it should work. You might need to re-start yout computer.
Here is a link directly to the patch. When it asks you to save, save it to your CD/DVD Gen folder then re-start.

Got mine working this morning. It does load faster then the original. I did not really beleive you guys when you all were saying that but it really does.
I do still have one more question about the SLES and SLUS stuff.
How do you know what number to put after SLUS?
Is it a number you are pulling from a certain file from the game?
Thanks for all the help.

When you are in ISO Buster look for a file that has the SLUS (or what ever prefix), there should be some numbers right after the prefix. It should have a ".
" in it. Just type the prefix and the number (without the ".") in the disc name within CD/DVD Gen.
