I was also having this very same problem. I clicked on the Nero link on this thread and installed the new demo version you all have uploaded here.
I burned 2 dvd's perfectly fine and then my third (a few day's later) failed. It had the following error message:

@ronjoe1 - afraid that's nothing to do with this thread; i've removed your serial number, and you'd be better off starting your own thread in the Nero forum. i can see what the problems are in your logfile so it should be quite straightforward to fix, ie it's just a few settings that need sorting..myself or more likely one of the Nero regulars will sort you out..

Hi elewoh
In smart start at the bottom right hand you'll see an icon w/ a flame in it. Click on that (product center) there's a tab there that has your serial #.

Okay i am having this problem...
i use DVD Shrink to compress lucky number 7 and then because i have the Nero that doesnt work with DVD Shrink i usually jus wait until DVD Shrink is done encoding then i open Nero burning rom and burn the dvd files....BUT im having a problem it burns okay with no problems at all but when watching it on my dvd player or on another computer it ALWAYS freezes coming to the end like chapter 17... WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM???? I have the files DVD Shrink made..so i was wondering if someone could tell me how to burn it so it doesnt freeze...hopefully i dont need to have the disk because i returned it but i have the files on my computer
Help would be appreciated

Hi trini22
Could be the brand of discs you are using and/or burn speed.
Which brand are you using? Burn speed?
Burner's firmware up to date also?

Ok - 1st thing update the firmware if you bought this drive the latest is B7W9.
BenQ 1620
BenQ doesn't use the best manufacturers for their discs. So take the burn speed down a notch and set the target size in Shrink to 4360 (won't burn to the edge. Go to edit>preferences. Under target size pick custom then type in 4360.
Better to use disc would be Verbatim or made in Japan only Sony, Fuji or Maxell.

Not a problem trini22 :)
Love the email alerts when a new post comes so I'll be on the watch.
Let us know either way.
Take the burn speed & target size down a notch too.

Since you're not autoburning w/ Nero & Shrink - you can try just burning the files w/ Nero Recode instead of running them thru Shrink again and opening Nero to burn. Recode will let you change the target size too.
In recode click on 'custom' under fit to target in the 1st screen and type in 4360.
