No PS2 emulator's are junk. The current ones will run demos and not much else. Even if they could run games you'd need a very powerful computer to do so.

So just to be clear, if you download a PS2 game and it's a series of files, it wasn't compressed properly?
i have never seen an upload, that has just been the game data files

people who upload games, tend to know what they are doing,

its just that some people get a bit confused when trying to unpack the rar archives, and go one step 2 far and extract the iso, which is easily done

Thanx Hursty I was just curious since I will be acquiring a DVD burner soon. I also come across this in forums and misunderstand what the person is trying to say. They're simply not using winrar correctly, rather than being left with a mess of files after unpacking the rar file. Come to think of it I've never seen this when unpacking a PSX image, so that makes sense. Good rebuild guides by the way, I link to them all the time.

Yeah should be a cue file if was ripped with CDRWIN. What game is it? I've come across this before, usually you just need the cue file to "tell" your burner what settings to burn the image file with. I've seen files without them though. For info on ProEvo check out the ProEvo web forums: http://www.evo-web.co.uk/

Did you extract the .rar files correctly? It looks like you may have unpacked the wrong file first. When you originally downloaded the game what format was it in? Chances are it was xxxxxxx001.rar or something like that. These usually are in numerical order starting with 0 or 1. E.g. you may have DBZTen000.rar, DBZTen001.rar, DBZTen002.rar, etc. In this case you would extract DBZTen000.rar first. Usually this involves a WinRAR error. Report back if this isn't the case.

What media are you using and at what speed? Ditch Memorex and imitation for some good DVD-R's. Try Maxell, TDK, or, Phillips. Here's a guide for DVD decrypter: http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id3.html

A. Get rid of Memorex DVD-R's. B. Don't burn at max speed. Burn at 1x or 2x, NO FASTER than 4x. C. Enjoy your backup.

Not a must. A lot of people have said they are awful. Other's say they have had good success with Memorex. Follow the link I posted to burn with DVD Decrypter and burn with your Memorex at 1x. If it doesn't work try a different DVD-R.

Alien13.....When i put in the burned copy of Madden 06 it still says "Please insert a playstation format disk. I must be doing something wrong so ill tell you the steps that i did to make the copy, I inserted the original madden 2006 disk into the dvd writer opened DVD Decripter and went to Mode-ISO-Read and i selected the location to be in my documents folder. When it was done decripting i took the disk out and put in a blank Sony DVD-R 4.7GB Then i Went to Mode-ISO-WRITE. I selected the mds file thatn is 5 KB big and the ISO file is 3,310,816 KB big so i picked the MDS file like you said. They are both called DVDIMAGE. So after i picked the MDS file i Hit burn on a burn speed of 1X. I had it verify the disk after the burn so it would check for problems. It finished, i took it out of the burner and put it into the ps2 and it didnt work. i dont know if i need more programs or if im doing this right so comment back and let me know!

Sounds like it burned okay. Do you have some type of Mod, SS2Trunks? You need Swap Magic or a modchip to play backups. Cower to Super Saiyan 3 Goku.

Swap Magic is a boot CD which allows you to play PS2 backups or imports http://swapmagic3.com/ You need a flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm or slide card: http://www.saveware.com/SlideCardUsageAndInstall.htm to use it.
