ive been doing this for awhile i agree with all u guys i have maxell DVD-R i burned at 2.4 on DVD Decrypter and didnt work burnt it at 4x and works great i have swap magic 3.6 just letting to all newbies this way worked valkrie profile 2 is the same way good luck

i am having problems with this game evry time i put in the game and press iso read it does it but it doesnt give me an iso file or and mds. file please help.

make sure you know the destination path of your "read" then switch mode to "write" grab that file and burn at 4x, otherwise you are not "reading" corectly

i know where the destination is but are you suppose to see the iso file the file that i get is an I00. file what is this and when yall say burn with DVD Decrypter how are you suppose to do that do u use Nero or anything else first please help i really want to play this game before i have to give it back to my friend

use dvddecrypter to read and write the iso
1)open DVD Decrypter
2)select "mode"
ISO --> read
3)select destination
were you want the file to go
4)hit burn button
lower left hand corner
5)wait about 5 minutes for it to "read
6)after complete select "mode"
ISO --> write
7)select the file you just burned to your hard drive in step 3
8)put blank DVD-R into your dvd burner drive
9)put your burn speed at 4x (lower right hand corner)
10)hit the burn button and wait about 5-10 minutes
11)take that copy and load it in your ps2 using swap magic or a mod chip
If you cannot burn -R dvds then STOP and go buy a burner
If you donnot have swap magic or a mod chip then STOP you will be wasting your time

Im from New Zealand,
i just ripped the game and it came to 4.31 gb so lucky me? haha..
anyways, i burnt it twice with TDK, they must be shit cus both times had different results, one works but skips, the other cant even get to the main game, ps2 crashes before it manages to reach it hehe
so im waitin for a friend to bring me a better qual disc...(this is the first game ive burnt by the way, just got SM today)
but yeah, seems to work fine and the filesize doesnt seem too big...for me anyways...
I just wanna PARTY!~

Any idea why the game works but in black and white? Is this because I have the NTSC version being played on a PAL station? the game works perfectly though...

No, its cos you have the NTSC version playing on a PAL TV that doesn't support 60Hz NTSC signals.
To correct the problem you'll need to patch the iso with an NTSC2PAL patcher (which doesn't always work), or, if using Swap Magic, then change the Video Mode, or better still, buy a fully wired RGB Scart lead for PS2 which will, not only, correct the display problem, but also give a better quality picture.

Thanks! I wondered as the crappy copies i had burned off were both in coulor, but i did have my station hooked up to a different TV!

mds is the equivilant to a cue file...it tells the burning app how to properly burn the image. So short answer, burn it.
I can see the next question now....but its only 85 Kb, the game is 4 gigs! Like Nike, just do it.....the iso will be the thing thats gets burned to disk.

I have been rebuilding all of my backups. What is the general rule as far as when to rebuild. I think you mentioned if it is a certain size??

Rule of thumb, if the iso is 4.35 gigs or larger (i usually do it at 4.3 or larger) and is a DVD-5, rebuild. Some games will boot, but its still a smart idea to rebuild. In my experience, the easiest method of rebuilding is to use Gnie's Expert tool. Simple four (maybe 5, i forget) click process and you have a rebuilt iso...but like any methods of rebuilding (Nero method), there is always a slight chance that the rebuild will be bunk.

thanks you guys i finally burned a sucessful copy of bully total of dvds used 2 but my first one was from rebuliding it. my copy doesnt lag skip or any of those other junk other people had said burned it using DVD Decrypter at 6x and it works perfectly thanks

i have had the wierdest scenario in the world
flashed my drive with a f***** firmware
then i burned it , it worked like a charm no skipping no shit
i used LG -R the worst media in the world, i think and i am not buyin' em again my drive is a 1280b TDK based on lite-on as they say
i had no time to test it but will when i come back from skool in bout 4 hrs or so, then i'll tell the whole story
(i used DVD Decrypter at 4x eminent's release NO REBUILDING (lba checks)) from my second shot and it worked
edit to test by going through gameplay i just beat the first people i met and got caught by the prefect

CD/DVDrom Generator
Apache

Do anyone think It could PS2 and not the backup.
I am just say this because I have a ver. 4,7,and 10.I burned bully with TY's @ 8.It works with sm 3.6 on the 7 and 10 but on the 10 laser makes alot of noise and some skipping.On the ver. 4 only works with sm 2.0.On 4 and 7 it works great.

BTW all of our ps2(s) can't be defective probably some have a better laser or somtin
now i tried to burn the game with the stock firmware and it screwed up i used alchol 120%
i got the latest official firmware and it rejected my discs
so i got into a million firmwares for 1213 lite-on drives alot sucked in read speed so i didn't even bother and i used a recomended one on one of the forums : http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=99465
and gave it a burn using DVD Decrypter at 4x (it was actually doing at 3.1 and 3.4) and the thing worked like a charm
could it be the first disc syndrome as it was the first disc on the DVD pile

YOU CANT REBUILD!!!! Bully has an lba check, and any modification to the iso will result in a coaster! Said it earlier, hope that clarifies.

Expert tool is much easier...one app, a few clicks, done :)
