What is actually the MDS file? And why would you choose the MDS file instead of the ISO file?

Even if you could convert it, it wouldn't boot. The code is too different and like Pspness said, there are no GBA emus for PS2.

If you're running Windows XP, go to My Computer right click your burner and go to properties. Go to the Hardware tab and double click your burner, that'll tell you what kind of burner you have.
92. Q. What is firmware and why should I care?
A. Firmware as defined by AD:
Sort of a "operating system of the hardware", an embedded instruction set built-in or flashed into a hardware equipment, such as a router, CDR drive, DVD-ROM drive, washing machine, etc.
Newer Firmware can unlock new features that are sealed on certain DVD Burners like booktyping, or simply enhance your existing Burner by improving burn quality and media compatiblility. Keeping your Firmware up to date is essential to ensure quality burns and maximum functionality from your DVD Burner. When flashing your burner with new Firmware, be very careful. Make sure you shut down all programs running in the background, the DVD-ROM drive is empty, and you follow all the directions included in the Firmware download exactly. A bad flash can fry your DVD Burner. Proceed with caution. You can find all the Firmware you'll ever need here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php
This guide contains some additional useful saftey measures for upgrading your firmware: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/288475

Hey guys, i've read loads of posts and i have a problem. I just downloaded a game, and have extracted it (using WinRAR) to the point where I see the file folder. I go to open it up to find the .iso file but am confronted with a load of folders and a few files (listed below):
Folders:
Burnout
CNF
Data
EACN
Game
Netgui
Online
System
Then 3 files:
DNAS280.IMG
SLUS_212
system
How do I go about altering these files to an .iso form? I've extracted the actual folder countless times and nothing has helped. I've read countless threads and haven't found anything that has managed to help. What is the actual step by step process when you have a folder with contents like this and no .iso file? Many thanks to anyone who can help, its probably dead easy but i'm a newbie.

Hi all
I have a strange problem with my ps2... I've dled some games and burnt them using alcohol, Nero, dvd decryptor you name it... My ps2 is modded, think messiah not sure. 1/100 times it plays the game otherwise it decides to just go to the main screen.
I've tried burnign the game on DVD-RW and DVD+RW.. both seem to work. Need for speed worked once and resident evil 4 worked twice. I've tried prince of persia, after 4 differnt burns i get no where.. the furthest i got was the "playstation 2" sign then the screen goes black.
Other copied games that i bougt work 100% of the time...Can some one please tell me what i'm doing wrong?
thanks alot

I have a problem about burning dvd, Radiata Stories is the only game that work for me.
when I burn other games with lesser space, I notice there's a print under the disc, I think those are the files that had been burned.
But when I bought a pirated game of the same title, how come their burning is different, it almost dont have a round mark under it
u see, under the disc, the print marks wholy utilize the space of the disc, where my burned dvd and the one that I bought have different burn marks under it
How come, I think theres a different burning process, but how?

I ONLY WANT TO KNOW HOW THEY BURN THAT
they did'nt waste the space of the dvd, don't u think they just added some dummy files, i'm not really familiar how to do that
Because what i know, xbox and ps2 need the right amount of the disc bytes in order to have a successful read, but lesser than that then, the reading process will be a failure, thats what i think
isn't dvd- or dvd+
Tersky should be the name

Yeesh, when am I going to get paid for this?
@ Jholla12 You're getting that when burning the game, not when ripping it your HD, correct? An I/O error when writing the disc is usually media that's crappy/not compatible with your burner. Update your firmware, it should help.
@ tomworthy You extracted the iso file. What was the extension of the file before you extracted it. I.E., was it a rar, iso, what?
@ kshahid Never use DVD+/-RW's with the PS2. They don't work well and they put terrible strain on the laser. Use quality DVD-R's like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
@ tensky Don't worry about all that, you're probably just using crap media. Use quality DVD-R's like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. You can find good deals on them at http://www.supermediastore.com
@ friendly1 This is the wrong forum for that. This is the PS2 DVD forum, post your question in the appropriate forum for best results.
