Tokijin you work hard mate. Thanks for the reply. It was a .rar file. I extracted it and it came up with the aforementioned files and folders. And with those files/folders there is no .iso file. So i'm assuming there is another file i have to use WinRAR on or something but have no idea.

With a v.5, go with DVD-R's.

@Jholla12 How would d/l newer firmware disable your region counter? What kind of DVD Burner do you have?

@ tomworthy Are you postive? Just because it has the rar icon behind it doesn't mean it's a rar file. I meant what is the extension of the file. More than likely it's an iso. When you downloaded the game, it was one rar, or several files like Game000.rar. When you extract the one big rar file, or the first numbered rar file, it should produce an iso file.

If the Steelers beat the Seahawks in the Super Bowl I'll shave my head they're only in the Super Bowl because Indianoplis's kicker sucked the big one

Well Vanderjagt's is the most accurate kicker in football history, making around 87% of his career kicks. If Bettis doesn't fumble the ball at the 2, and the refs don't make one of the worst reversals in NFL playoff history, it would've been a double digit affair. The AFC dominated the NFC this year. Truthfully I think this is one of the weakest NFC crop of teams since the Giant's lost to the Ravens in 2000-2001. I'm not the best person to debate on football or any sport for that matter, I know my shite. Cheers!

Just to squash it all right now the Panthers should have been in this Superbowl. They just had a bad day when they played Seattle. Now let's get back on subject.

Go with the 4x Taiyo Yuden's. 16x media isn't as good of quality as the 4x. I use these: http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-silver-thermal-8x-dvd-... I like to burn at 4x. I always get fewer than 10 PIF's when burning at 4x to Taiyo Yuden's. The 4x are good too, you'd just need to burn at 2x. The quality is the same, it has more to do with user preference.

Unless you posted the wrong info, that should be your firmware upgrade. If you're getting error messages like that, cease and desist from trying to upgrade your firmware. I looked through your posts, and you made no mention of having difficulties burning DVD's. Are you having some issues with your burner?

no not with my burner but with dvd dycryptor, c i read the dvds with the dycryptor but then i have to burn them with another burning program because the write phase of dycryptor doesnt seem to be working but this only works for regular dvd movies, whenever i try to do the same with a ps2 game it wont read the game after i use the swap disk....

Yeah that's right. I forgot what your problem was. Try burning the game with Alcohol 120%

88. Q. How do I burn PS2 DVD games with Alcohol 120%?
A. Ripping the game to your Hard Drive:
1. Insert your disc.
2. Open Alcohol 120%.
3. Click Image Making Wizard.
4. Check Ignore read errors, select your recorder, leave the never seperate box alone.
5. Click Next. Select a destination for the game. Click Start.
Once the process is complete, you'll get an mds and an mdf file. Click finish, if necessary.

Burning the game to DVD:
1. Insert your blank disc.
2. Right click the mdf file.
3. Select Image Burning Wizard.
4. Select your recorder, set the write speed to 4x.
5. Click next.

Tokijin--how do i find out the extension of the file? The file was downloaded with this name below:

It appears to be a .rar file as it isn't recognised when i use dvd decrypter Mode>Iso>Read/Write.

Actually scrap my last message above. Turns out that i figured it out, thanks for the help though Tokijin. Much appreciated, if i have any more problems then i'll post on here. Cheers!!

Thanks Tokijin.

Used a DVD+R (Didnt have -R)with DVD Decryptor at 4x. Works perfectly. Can't believe how much time I wasted using DVD RWs.

Just so that no one makes the same mistake:

STAY AWAY FROM DVD RWs

Tokijin,
I have successfully copied cds, but am having a problem copying Ratchet and Clank - Going Commando PS2; it keeps coming up with lots of errors when saving it using Alcohol 120 to my drive. I tried to copy it exactly like you outlined. Any suggestions?

A bit off topic but what do you folks consider to be the best ps2 games out there at the moment.
