i can understand how some people make the mistake of opening the iso image in WinRAR,and extracting the contents......

but i dont understand how you have the iso image, with the file you say you have taken out....i dont know how you managed to do that???????

if you have the iso image, have you tried looking inside? to see whats there?

*Powers up to Super Saiyan 3 and Kamehameha's the hell out of this partciular thread.* In the future, don't extract the iso file with WinRAR. Be careful to read the extension of the file after you extract it. Just because the WinRAR symbol is behind the file, doesn't make it a rar file. That means that the default association for that file type is WinRAR. I.E. if you have MP3 files associated with Windows Media Player, MP3 files will have the WMP icon behind them. This is a pretty common problem. Did you modify any files other than the liscense.txt file? You load the mds file into DVD Decrytper. It'll take care of the rest.

Never, ever use a DVD+RW to burn any type of video or game backup to.
TDK is a good brand, just don't use a RW next time.

Here's the ever linked "Best Media" Thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/240341

Check it out and go get yourself either some good DVD-R's or DVD+R's if you plan to booktype them.

Signature? What signature!? Oh wait...I actually have one
now.

you need someway of playing a backup,

from tokijins faq's

2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/240341
If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, Dynex, Princo, Bulqpaq, etc.
CMC Magnetics is garbage. Need proof (Thanks to Alkohol):
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/262544
If you really want to do the PS2 backup thing right, pick up some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim's. I only burn to TYG02, the 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's. So far I've never had a lag, skip, freeze, or boot failure since I switched to Taiyo Yuden's. With results like that, why would I use anything else? The brand of media you use means very little.
The key determinant of media quality is the Media ID. For info on the Media ID, check the bottom of this thread.
Try this link for all types of different info on media quality, compatibility, and console reliability: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia

3. Q. Do I need some type of mod to play PS2 backups or imports?
A. Yes you need a modchip: http://teammodders.com/ps2_mc.php?ex=2 Swap Magic: http://swapmagic3.com/ Memory Card Exploit (Doesn't work with v.11 PS2 and later): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289 HD Loader: http://www.hdloader.com.au/hardinstall#prepare or

An I/O error when burning is usually a sign of cheap/damaged media. Get some Taiyo Yuden's or Verbatim's from http://www.supermediastore.com
