Thanks a lot for your help. As of now my WII is NTSC and I just patched the game with region free and still have the same results. I don't know if I can change the settings on my TV from 60 to 50 hz or wathever... but anyway thanks a lot for your help... If you think I can do anything else let me know please. I have not used Brickblocker yet, I was gonna try it also.

With CloneDVD I have the option to write it to the speed 2- 2.4x Will this work?

2x or 2.4x works perfectly fine on CLONEDVD2 so i shouldn't see a problem

To change your tv settings from 50hz-60hz or visa versa. You go to the (Wii settings menu) and then (TV Settings). It gives you the option to change between either settings.
You dont have to change the actual TV settings, just the TV settings on the Wii system.
Check the Wii compatibility list first though to see if your game will work or not prior to downloading it.

Hi all 1st time posting here, i have done every thing the "HOW to backup WII GAMES.(guide)" says step by step and it only seem to work about 50% of the time is that normal it will run fine till about 3/4s of the way and then get stuck but other games will rip fine any ideas ? the cds have no scratches or anything.

Mine does the same thing but when I open the file with IMGBURN, it is in iso format so I just burn and all is well.
On another note. Can anyone share how to back up a DL wii game like super smash brothers brawl. From what I am reading in other threads the LG drives can't dump the game. Can anyone explain how to back the game up or any other dual layer wii game.

I'm new at this so be gentle. I'm using rawdump 2.0 for the first time and i have read that it should take about 2.5 hrs to dump but mine has been going for over 4 hrs now and is only just over a quarter done! Does anyone know why it is soo slow?

hi wot drive r u using is it a lg gdr 8163b or 8164b? also i found that if your pc is slow the dump is slow and if theres heeps of apps in the background

yeh dose anyone HAVE A CLUE caus i got lg gdr 1863b BEST THING EVER!! anyways supersmash bros is like dl dose that mean most new wii gamae r going to be dl / if FUK ME DEAD, and will smash bros be on dl on PAL system Better not be !

I have a 8163b drive. Computer is a P4 3Ghz, 1Gb ram. It shouldn't b slow but it is.

MM ok i have about same specks but im using laptop.. i made it external just buy a ide to usb 4 that... but no it shouldnt be that slow... maby contact your buyer? or format your pc but i dought that mine is about 2.3hours annd my lg gdr 8164b is 3.10 hours... sorry i carnt really help well i got school 2 morrows and i live in aus so gtg

It is a faqt that USB 1.1 is much slower than USB 2.0 So that might be the explanation for your problem with the Laptop
Wii + Wiikey = WiiFun :P

Hi,
I have succesfully copied wii games in the past onto a modded pal wii. When doing this for Super Mario Galaxy I get 'Error#001,
Unauthorised device has been detected'! Can anyone help in solving this problem? One more, some of the games show a black screen after the inital wii menu & then stalls the wii! Sorry I'm new to all this but it is getting frustrating.

yeh sometimes its becasuse the super mario galaxy is dirty!! and if u dump it dirty is screws up or takes ages.. and the game u burn if that disk get dirty or scratched ur screwed so save the iso all the time!

I have read on another thread about this.. I am new to this as well and from what I have read it has to do with an update I think for you modchip??

Have you tried cleaning the disk and redumping. I had a problems with a few of my games. I cleaned them and when I redumped I watched the time couter and if it fluctuated up and down, I would close the program and clean the disk again and retry. I noticed that if my disks are scratched or dirty I have trouble when I try and dump the game.

If you have a WiiKey (modchip) you need to upgrade the chip. Look for Wiikey 1.9g

Thanks Guys,
I will clean the discs & redump c if that works. I don't know what chip I have in the wii but will find out. Does an update require a new chip to be installed?

No, the update is burned to a dvd, then the updated is applied to the modchip.

Go to (http://wiki.gbatemp.net/index.php?title=Wii_Region_Patcher_Compatibility_List)
Then go to the (Wii Region Patcher Compatibility List: PAL.) as my wii system is PAL- and it tells you which NTSC and Japan games can be patched to PAL and work.
If you system is NTSC or Japanese then there are lists there too for those systems. It just helps to save time when downloading games.

Hi yes i have a lg gdr 8163b and yeh that gdr - h3on is sort of a scam me mate got one and didnt work so he got a lg gdr.. there is some Rare cases (roumers) that people got it 2 work. no real evidence though.... removed

LOL...So I bought one of these from newegg thinking it was the correct drive a few months ago. Then realized it would not work after getting through this lengthy thread. Never took it out of the box when it was delivered. I'll see if I can open it up..

How long does it take to put a modchip in a wii and is it hard. do you have to do any sodering or is it plug and play
