I want to burn PS2 games but I'm not gonna be an idiot and buy whatever is neccessary and then start asking questions later. Before I start any of this I was just wondering what kind of mod chip or slide card you would suggest and where I could get it.

@Zer0SFX: If you're still debating whether to get a chip or SM, you need to make the wise choice and get a good chip. I would suggest either Matrix Infity or DMS4 SE Lite/Pro. Those are considered the best out there for the PS2, plus will reduce your copying workload tenfold. You won't ever have to worry about Dummy files, rebuilding, patching, DVD9's, etc. Just copy and play...

Not trying to disagree with svtstang or anything, that is just the way better choice to make. I wish I would've gotten one last year...instead I have to do the extra work with Swap Magic.

I completely agree with u Jamaal10, a chip is THE BEST way to go. If u have a shakey hand like me or do not have access to someone qualified to sauder, I would definitely go with swap magic. Ur right though, swap magic does fet annoying after a while:)

Alright Kell86, here it goes:

Use DVD Decrypter, works flawlessly

1. Extract the rar files to your HDD, extracting the first file will extract the complete ISO
2. Open DVD Decrypter, go to mode->iso->write. Find the ISO from your HDD as the source.
3. Change the write speed to 4X
4. MAKE SURE U USE GOOD QUALITY MEDIA
5. Click on the graphic at the bottom of DVD Decrypter to begin writing to your disk. Disable ur screensaver, close other programs, etc. to make sure u get the best quality burn
6. Wait 10-15 minutes, there u go, a working backup

Good Luck

Like svtstang said...and it can't be stressed enough! Make sure that you use high quality media. There is a sticky pertaining to what is considered the best.

Thanks Jamaal and svtstang. I'm probably gonna go with a flip top cuz I don't wanna mess up my PS2 while saudering.

no prob Zer0SFX, in my opinion (I know many will disagree) flip top plus SM is the best mod, UNLESS u can sauder or dont mind paying the cash to get ur ps2 professionaly modded. Thx to pspness for clariying what media to use:)

Here's a weird situation...buddy of mine uses DVD Decrypter and gets to the write stage, but when he inserts a blank DVD-R, he gets the message that the dvd is full. Even after swapping in another blank DVD-R he gets the same message. Any way to fix this??
