Hi, Im trying to create back up disks for my 2 original PS2 games, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory by following the process described in this thread. I used DVD Decryptor and everything went ok, but it doesn't play in my modded PS2. I have other hand me down back up games and they all work. There were no errors showing except that the disks doesn't work. When I put those disk in my PC to see the contents, it says that the DVDs are not yet formatted. Did I miss something in the process? MODE>ISO>READ then MODE>ISO>WRITE. Thanks.
Update: I am trying to redo it in another PC and when I rip it to the HD, it created a MDS and a WinRAR file. From my home PC, it created a MDS and ISO file. What should I do with the WinRAR? Thanks.

Ok yall, I want to ask yall a question. One that hasn't been mentioned yet. How exactly would you do a game that was made for the PS2 camera gameplay? Would a backup copy of it work right. I think it should. But I don't know, so please let me know.

i`m not sure why i cant get any of the burning software i have to burn ps2 backup copys i`ve been trying for some time now and still nothing i have several diff kinds of software tell me what i`m doing wrong and yes i have a modd chip in my ps2 thank you

Once a copy of a PS2 game is burned onto a blank DVD-R, do I need a special program to play it or can I just pop it in the system like a regular game? Please let me know ASAP yall.

A. Use DVD Decrypter. Burn at 4x on a quality 8x DVD-R.

If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or Maxell High Grade (DVD+R's). The PS2 laser is picky, these are the only three types of media you should trust for maximum reliability and compatibility with your PS2. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, Dynex, Princo, Bulqpaq, etc.

If you really want to do the PS2 backup thing right, pick up some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim's. I only burn to TYG02, the 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's. So far I've never had a lag, skip, freeze, or boot failure since I switched to Taiyo Yuden's. With results like that, why would I use anything else? The brand of media you use means very little.
The key determinant of media quality is the Media ID. For info on the Media ID, check the bottom of this thread.

Tape and Tissue mod: From Pretense: If the fliptop doesn't work, just give up on it and do a tape and tissue mod. Open up your case again and tape the back sensor (toward the upper left and beneath the hinge part of the lid) with duct tape or even regular Scotch tape (I use several layers to be on the safe side), put the case back together, and stuff a small ball of tissue into the hole for the front sensor (lower right just above the power button).

Hi. I am really new at burning ps2 games. I was going to go out and buy a +/- dvd burner. However I have seen that you can use Memorex dvd+ discs. What I want to know is if I went and rented a game could I copy it using dvd+ and have it work on my ps2.

HI i have swap magic v 3.6 i have the fat ps2 and i am using slide tool. I have used the method posted on this website for burning games using DVD Decrypter and alcohal 120%. The burnings work properly but when i use the game using swap magic and swap the disk- it says not a valid ps2 disk i have wasted 6 disks and none of them work. Does anyone know whats going on or has this happend to anyone else?
PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOOl i sorted it out i wasnt shutting the disk tray properly with the slide tool and it doesnt matter abt cd i used some crap PC line cds and they works !!! peacee xxx x

Hi sorry that came out all wrong. I didnt mean copy games. What I want to do is download ps2 games. My ps2 is already chipped and I just wanted to know the process of transfering the games onto a dvd disk. I have a DVD+ writer and want to know if I can use DVD+ discs and if so how to do it. Thanks in advance.

Hey i wanted to know if patching a game is a waste of time . I copied fifa street and it didnt work so i copied it again this time using a patch. However when i finally found out how 2 lock the disk tray with the slide tool and pressed load program using swap magic v 3.6 the pacthed on read not a valid ps2 disk so i tryed the unpacthed 1 and that worked fine loaded no freezing nothing.
ANOTHER THING MY FIFA 06 FROOZE DOES IT HAPPEND ALOT WITH COPIED GAMES ???

hello is there any way to play a game thats requires patching with out patching it like is there any way to remove the codes on it. like on DVD Decrypter it says remove PUOS under tools IFO could this be something to do with it. Also can you patch a game using dvd dcerypter by doing tools ifo region patch and then selecting region free and selecting the patch u have downloaded or do u have to use the long method posted on this forum using iso buster etc .
