I have DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.2.0 update says no new version.
I used decrypter first the problem is at about 57% of the movie it starts coming up with errors until the end of the movie. When I use shrink I only get about 35% of the movie the blanks that decrypter puts in only gives me part of the movie the rest is blank.
Scuba Pete helped us on the Re2 prob.
The errors that cutperv has looks the same as mine.
Decryper works with RE2 but the rip is different on this one

I can't do the actual burning part for Forgotten. I've ripped it with Decryptor to a folder on my HD. I run DVDShrink and it encodes it fine, but it stops when it goes to burn it with Nero 6. It says it's unable to burn. I don't get it?? I backed up Friday Night Lights and Cellular before I started on The Forgotten.
Please someone help!

I was able to copy The Forgotten with Elby's CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD's newest version 4.5.5.1 with no problems whatsoever. You have to download the newest version or it will not work. CloneDVD2 froze up at 37% with AnyDVD version 4.4.1.1.

i used decrypter and it said it did is successfully. however as i stated above while DVD Shrink was decoding I noticed that the end of the movie started in the beginning. I had this happen onanother dvd i was trying o copy never got an answer for that one on what to do. so I just stopped it until i see something to do. Does not make since to waste any dvds.

So you didn't burn the disc because you watched the preview of it encoding. That's a good one. There is a simple solution to your problem Gretta. Don't watch the preview. Un-check Enable Video Preview if it is too much of a temptation.

Ditto charlaew and Gamerover, I downloaded the new Decrypter (3.5.2.0) and used DVD Shrink 3.2 (and Nero) to burn it. No problems. I hope all you other folks figure it out so you can back up your movie!

For those of you who use Shrink and saw an ending in the middle of your Preview, The Forgotten does have 2 versions - The theatrical release and an extended version with an alternate ending. More than likely, that is what you saw. As you can see, a number of us have been able to copy this movie with the new version of Decrypter along with Shrink and another program to burn (I used Nero 6 Ultra Edition); I doubt any of us are doing anything special. Once I ripped the movie (in file mode), I did not experience any problems or errors. Also did not change the settings for Decrypter or Shrink in order to do this. If you have used the newest version of Decrypter and it still did not work, what type of errors are you getting? Perhaps some of the more experienced members can give you an idea of where your problem might be if you specify the type of errors you are getting.

Boy is this movie ever producing varied problems. I tried to use DVD Decrypter and then Roxio (but not dvd shrink). Roxio had fits with both the video_ts rip, and an iso rip, created with DVD Decrypter. So I shifted to DVD Shrink to reauthor and burn (it used Nero). Didn't try Roxio on the reauthored movie created with DVD Shrink.

Read the threads. Quite a few of us have. But it has been a pain, for sure.

Update: I was unable to burn using new decrypter to HD in file mode, then DVDShrink to ISO then burned with decrypter the first time. Then I went to the settings in decrypter and hit the DEFAULT button (had scubapete settings for Bourne Supremacy still there), then went thru the forementioned proceedure and it worked fine. Watched both versions with no problems.

I wondered if there were problems with software incompatibilities as well as settings in cases where people were unable to copy the movie; that does seem to be the where the issues are occuring. I looked at another forum and they were also running into the same problems. However, ripping with Decrypter and then using Shrink seems to work as long as you have the right settings. I'm curious about where the settings "scubapete" gave for the Bourne Supremacy can be found for those people who are still having problems. I think I got mine from a guide, so checking those might help as well. Maybe if members post their specific errors, etc., we can find solutions for most people. Good Luck!

I'll try to explain exactly how I copied it, maybe help some of you out...First, I used DVD Decrypter version 3.5.2.0. Didnt have any problems, altough it took over an hour to process. I used "File Mode" with all the default settings. I then used VOB Blanker, and used the default settings as well. The next program I used was DVD2One to compress it. I then made an ISO file of all these files using CloneDVD2, and finally burned it with Nero.
Typically, I do not need to use VOB Blanker. The only times I have had to use it is when DVD2One gives me an error about VOB and IFO files not matching. I use VOB Blanker, then its all set.
This may be a round-about way of doing it, but hey, it worked. If this doesnt work, maybe its something with the burner or something, but I doubt it. I have a cheap Pacific Digital that I bought on clearance for less than $50 and I have never had problems. Good luck!

Thanks for the help I used a simular formula and it worked the first time I used vob blanker The problem was I only got half the movie. I finally figured out a way to burn it thanks for the support. Strange when I downloaded Anydvd 4.5.5.1 on the 19th it would not copy. Then on the 20th Anydvd did an update to my copy and everything worked great.
Anydvd 4.5.5.1 then shrink. works fine..
