Hey,

This is my first post. I have never had to post anything on here before as the answer was already listed, but I guess it is my turn. I am trying to burn DVD's with my computer. I have tried multiple disks, and programs and still the same problem. Now I just used a short movie to do this but it is the same with any dvd I use. I have reset the DMA's, installed the newest bios, and drivers. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Here is a log from DVDFab and Shrink.

Thread teleported out of DVD Shrink forum and title renamed from "DVDshirk, and DVD fab error", this is a Nero problem.

If you look down the logfile you will see "illegal disc" - the burner doesn't like those discs, they're apparently not much good anyway.

why use a DVD for 113MB of data anyway, just use a CD. Plus what's with the 2.4x burn speed, i've only ever seen that burn speed used on Dual Layer media

Wow, a really old version of Nero 7.0 old and bug ridden. Upgrade to the better version of 7.10.1.0 here at file hippo.
keep your existing serial number and type it in when it asks for one or displays one.
Wait, by looking at your serial number I take it that you are not from the states? our numbers begin with 1C82 xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx etc.
this one might not work for you.
Here is Nero's latest version of Nero 7.

Well I normally burn full DVD's. But in this case I just needed the errors to pop up in the log and I did not want to wait so I used a DVD file that was small enough to achieve the error quickly. I did note this in my original post. As for the DVD's I have used three different brands. Memorex, Verbatim's, and the cheap one I used above.

In future don't waste discs, Nero has simulated burns, so it goes thru the motions of a burn, produces the logfile but doesn't use/waste any actual discs :)

Well since it was having a error before it ever reached the burning process, as shown in the log file I did not waste disks. I knew this already because it had the same error 3 times on the same disk, then I took that exact disk to another computer and it burned just fine.

I plan on looking at my Nero and some of the other posters ideas. I will post my results as soon as I complete it.
