I am currently using Nero Vision 5 (from Nero 8) on an older computer with a Creative Labs Webcam and an external microphone. I use Nero to record videos from the webcam. This works just fine but the webcam doesn't pick up red very well so I want to upgrade the camera. The problem I'm having is finding a camera that works with Nero but still lets me choose the microphone. I tried the Microsoft LifeCam VX3000 but Nero insisted on using the webcam's built-in mic. I also tried a Logitech C500 but Nero crashed as soon as I launched Vision. Then I tried a Phillips webcam with no built-in mic but it also made Vision crash on startup. I did try reinstalling Nero with the Logitech and that did get it working, but I didn't like the color from the C500, which is when I tried the LifeCam.

Does anyone know what webcams will work with Nero Vision 5 that won't cause it to crash and still allow me to choose the mic to pick up audio from?
