Hello Atmos..U might try taking the ink cartridge out & wiping it off, then re-seat it..I had that problem once,it was'nt seated properly & ink was seeping out..just remember to run a pice of paper through to clean your rollers afterward..see if this helps

I tried taking out all of the catridges and cleaning them, except all of them were clean, no signs of ink on them at all. I think I did see a patch of dry ink somewhere under where the catridges rest though (nowhere near the rollers or anything).

Atmos, never had that problem. I suggest the same thing. Call Epson and if your printer is in warranty they will fix it.

Oh, hi everyone. I am really new here and today is my first time here. I have a problem and I was wondering who could help me. I bought a new E. Stylus R200 and I keep getting an error message telling me I have the CD tray in wrong, or that it is not set just right. I have followed all that the book says and I can NOT seem to get any where. I can not print to a CD. Any ideas?? I really could use some help here. I am wanting to make some home movie DVD's and CD's and I am so disapointed I still can't do it. I thought it was the printer and so I took it back to Best Buy and exchenged it for another one and I get the same message....
Thanks for any help.........PalominoBunny

I have 2 of the same printers and I love them--I was a little confused at first when doing a DVD/CD for the first time. First, make sure that you actually go into the Epson CD print software(there should be an icon on your desktop or wherever you put it when installing the software--you should get a picture of a blank CD/DVD with icons on the right side and headings at the top starting with "file" then "edit" etc.--By the way, the tray should be inserted before opening the software (with a disk in it white side up)--try it--let us know what messages (if any)that you get after doing this.

Also make sure you are matching up the arrows on the disc tray with the tray guide. The disc tray has white arrows while the tray guides are the same dark gray/black as the the guide.

also one more thing
the CD DVD TRAY MUST BE CLOSED when you turn on the printer !! turn it OFF close the CD DVD Tray turn it on
WAIT till its all done and ready to go THEN open the CD/DVD tray.
odd that it mandates this but it does. wont turn on with the cd/dvd tray open.

I use TY Silver printables w/ my Epson R200 and they look great. I have some white hub printables coming shortly so then I should be able to give more detail to which look the best.

Here is a little trick that makes alligning your CD/DVD tray easier.
Open the CD tray and notice that the arrow on the tray is the same color as the tray making it hard to see.
Get some white out liquid and carefully paint the arrow white. This will be permenant and make it much easier when you match up the white arrow on the CD/DVD holder with the CD/DVD tray.
It also looks great.

@ palobunny,
Does the printer suck the tray in at all?"
Yes, it seems too....and just when I think it is going to print, it gently comes right back out...then I get the message.

Make sure your printer is pulled away from the wall about 6 inches. Your tray needs the room to go back beyond the printer. Watch the back of your printer when the printing starts you will see the tray come trough there. If anything is in the way it will just push it back out and give you that message. Make sure your printer has enough room in the back for the tray to go all the way in

I just purchased the R320 from www.pixmania.co.uk.
I don't know what the quality is like yet because the Epson CD and manual are in every language except English. Also the power cord is two pin?
I contacted Epson, and they will supply with what I need for an extra £25.
