Okay, let me first state that if you're running either MoparScape (aka HybridScape) or BlakeScape this post contains everything you need, plus links with which to download, so really on that note I cannot see the need for anyone to supply you with additional files, or examine yours for errors.
[Reasoning may be considered off topic by some]
My reasoning for this is simple: Paranoia. Plain and simple. It would be ENTIRELY too easy for someone to come into this post and ask people for help via an Instant Messanger just so they can hack other people's servers and crash them. For instance, lets say I wanted to crash someone else's runescape server, all I'd have to do is have them IM me, as soon as I respond, we're connected P2P, and I can use programs as simple as DOS to determine their IP address and any open ports they are using. If we're using MSN or Yahoo IM, I could take advantage of any number of security wholes and tamper with their computer (MSN: Remote Desktop Security whole can be accessed through DOS and enable one person to have unlimited access to the other's computer; Yahoo IMs can be used along side booter programs to P2D (Ping To Death) a computer's processor, melting the gold inside). All of this considered, I always worry when someone comes in to any forum asking for help via an IM. For everyone's safety, please, use the private messages here at the forum, they're not instant, but they're safer than any real alternative.
Be Safe: Don't IM someone unless you're willing to trust them with you computer. Hands down. I use all sorts of Instant Messengers, and I know the flaws of each, as well as how to patch many of them, but as a general safety tip, if you haven't known them for at least a month, don't IM them.
If you want to argue with me: Don't Polute this thread doing it. Send me a private message over this site. But I'll most likely ignore you, since arguing isn't completely my thing, all the same. Take whatever risks you guys want to take.]

It would seem that the bulk of people are using Windows and still running into problems, which is why I have taken this time to make a good, detailed guide that will hopefully be of some use.
IF YOU FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS AS THEY ARE PRESENTED TO YOU, I GUARENTEE YOU WILL HAVE A WORKING RUNESCAPE SERVER
The absolute first thing are going to need in order to do this is your Desktop. Its wonderfully helpful for storing things. I suggest making a new folder (right click -> new -> New Folder) and naming it something like "Runescape Stuff"
It is in this folder that you will dowload the server and the client.
For those of you with no memory span at all, the links are as follows:
The Server: http://mmorpg.ragezone.com/Runescape/20051104-server.rar
The Client: http://mmorpg.ragezone.com/Runescape/rsprivservclient.rar
Download both of these into your "Runescape Stuff" folder. If, for any reason, you are not smart enough to download them correctly - please abandon all hopes of owning your own server and go donate your computer at the nearest goodwill.
Once download, extract the contents of the 20051104-server.rar into a new folder within the "Runescape Stuff" folder. Lets call it something catchy and original - "Server Stuff." Now that you've done that - DON'T touch any of it until instructed to do so.
Now go ahead and extract the rsprivservclient.rar to a new folder within the "Runescape Stuff" folder. We'll call it (you may guess this one) "Client Stuff"
Go ahead and right click on your rsprivservclient (the one with the neat icon) and use your "Send to" option to send it to the desktop as a shortcut. If you want, you can go ahead and rename the shortcut (the one on the desktop) to "Runescape".
Now for the most important part! You need to get a Java SDK (service developers kit) from the link I am about to give you. Don't panic - its free. But before I give you the link there are a few things that you need to know:
1)to save bandwidth, the makers of the SDK do not give out the full link, but rather an odd little java-based downloader thing.
2)When the option to Save or Run appears, go ahead and run, it is very small and a flash screen will apear momentarily.
3)When the flash screen fades away, a few windows will pop up as it prepares to connect to the site and fetch the file you will need. Just keep agreeing and clicking okay/next (or whatever you have to do - if you've ever installed anything I'm sure you can figure this out.)
4)It will eventually come to a screen that has a file window (only one file should show, and that is the SDK install file), go ahead and click start (lower left).
5)Depending on the speed of your connection, the file may take several minutes. Sorry about that, but its the only way for you to obtain the needed java compiler program Javac.java - without it the server cannot run.
6)Once the download thingy is done, the install file will be saved to your computer (for most people, this is going to be saved either on the desktop, or the "My Documents" folder), find this intallation program and run it all the way through. The installation will take a little time to appear, be patient.
Okay do you think you have all that understood? You MUST, and I repeat MUST follow the steps as I have presented them to you, otherwise you will incounter errors. But, if you feel that you are ready, you can go ahead and use the steps I just went over to install your SDK, which, for this purpose, will be Netbeans: (Make sure to select Windows at the bottum, then click the download bar)
(If for any reason the link does not work, go to www.sun.com and in the search bar to the top right search for "Java SDK", a listing will appear with tabs at the top. Click on the "download" tab and click on the top listing. You will have the choice of Netbeans (to the left) and another item (to the right). I've tried both, netbeans is easier - just use it. A window will appear with a bunch of options and list of stuff, click on the first "Download" option below the "Japanese" option towards the top right. You'll have to click a little round button that says you agree to something (some legal gumbo), then a window will appear asking you to select your platform (which will be windows for the bulk of people, which is the last one in the list), select your platform and click the orange bar below.)
Once your SDK installation is finished, find the "j2sdk1.4.2_13" folder, usually located at C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13 which you can access via the "My Computer" option. Inside of it you will find a good number of folders and some other stuff. Open the "bin" folder. You should now be in C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13\bin and if you look around you will notice something very important - the JAVAC file!!!! Woot! MINIMIZE THIS WINDOW - DON'T CLOSE IT.
Now, you need to copy everything in your "Server Stuff" Folder (for those of you who got distracted by your family pet and have no idea what I'm talking about, its in your "Runescape Stuff" folder on your desktop. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO COPY EVERYTHING IN THE FOLDER, BUT NOT THE FOLDER ITSELF. Once you've copied everything go back to your C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13\bin folder (which should be minimized) and paste everything in it. Presuming you don't fail at life, if you highlight everything in the folder and rightclick on one of the files, the click on properties it should say "Size: 1.45 MB (1,530,837 bytes)"
Don't worry about the "Size on Disk" thing, thats some technical stuff.
Now, before we do anything, you need to locat the "Compile" file you just copied into the "bin" folder. Double click on it and wait about a minute before closing it. DO NOT CLOSE THE FOLDER, THERE IS STILL MORE WORK TO BE DONE!
Once you've compilied your server (you'll notice that you got no errors ^^) you need to locate the "Run" bat file that you just copied over and right click on it. Send it to the desktop as a shortcut. If you want, you can rename it "Server"
Are you ready for this?
Close everything out and get back to your desktop. You should have two shortcuts there, one for the Run.bat, and one for the client application thingy (neat icon). Double click on the shortcut for run. Another black window will appear saying it has started blackscape server - DO NOT CLOSE THIS, MINIMIZE IT. Now go ahead and click on your client. A familiar Runescape game window will open up. Put anything you want in the user name (please note these are case sensitive, meaning that "player" and "Player" will get two different characters). And under server put 127.0.0.1 and click log in.
You will appear in varrock in your own server, it shouldn't take you too long to become disatisfied with how buggy things are though. But fear not. I am working with a great group of 5 other technitions who are dedicated to updating this server client, bringing back the monsters and NPCs, and getting things running as they should. It will take some time but we are dedicated to doing it, even if it means translating everything to PEARL.
.....ok....my problem is(still not solved) this 'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command"on moparscape
ok then this works great tut but what ip /port do i give to my friends so thay can join?????

IP Tutorial:
1) Go to http://www.no-ip.info
2) Create a free account with them.
3) Log into the account with the email address you provided during the registration.
4) To the left will be a collum labeled "Your NO-IP" with many different options. Find the option labled "Add" underneath "Hosts / Redirects" and open it.
5) You should now be looking at a page with the words "Add A Host" in bold letters at the top center of the page. Below is a field called "host information" - this is the ONLY field you will need to edit for our purposes.
6) Find the text box labeled "Host Name" and write whatever identifier you would like, for me it is the name "Vicious".
7) Directly below the text box is a list box with several different 'websites' you can select. Choose the one you feel most appropriate, I suggest no-ip.info because it is short and fits easily into most runescape clients.
8) At the very bottom of the page is a button labeled "Create Host" which will combine your identifier ("Vicious") with your URL ("no-ip.info") into your completed address (vicious.no-ip.info).
9)Now that you have made your name it may take as many as 5 minutes to be activated (don't worry though, I'm gonnna keep you busy). You now need to click on the "Downloads" tab at the very top of the page to begin downloading the Dynamic DNS Updater.
10) You will see some text crap that I've never bothered to read and three icons for the most common Operating Systems; windows, mac, and linux. Choose the icon that represents your operating system.
11) A page with more text crap will open with a download link (for windows it is hosted at downloads.com, as far as the others, I don't know for sure and am too lazy to take the 4 seconds required to find out). Follow the download links untill you download the program. I reccommend saving the install file to your computer, rather than opening it from the source*.
12) Install the program and run it.
13) It will ask you to log in, to do this give it the same email address and password you gave when making the account at no-ip.info
14) The program should then load itself up and if enough time has gone by you will see your forward listed in the program.
If you have followed these steps with a room temperature IQ or above, you should now have a working DNS assigned to your computer. This allows people who want to play on your server to skate by without knowing your IP address, PLUS it allows you to never loose members when your IP address changes (for example when you reset your modem).
As long as you have the NO-IP program running on your computer, anyone who wants to play on your server can type in yourname.no-ip.info into the server field of their client and log in. Its really much more practicle for me to know that I can log into to someplace called Vicious.ServeGame.Com instead of having to remember that their IP address is 68.172.539.42:8080. NOTE: Vicious.Servegame.com and Vicious.no-ip.info are not functional right now as forwards because they link to my webserver in my closet (which is not hooked up right now), so please don't bother thinking "I want to see what his server is like" because its not up right now. Or probably ever untill we finish PwnScape.

Just place the compile.bat in the bin folder as instructed in the tuturial I typed before (which has been quoted during this tread like 4 times...). Once the compile.bat is in the bin folder, simply double click to execute. It will run through once, and after that, you never have to run it again. From that point on, you will need to run the Run.bat excutable batch file to start your server.
If you used the download links I provided, the server will load and say something along the lines of "Vicious Server started on 127.0.0.1" any others will say BlakeScape instead of Vicious Server.
Though I suggest using the links I provided in an earlier post which will allow you to download the vicious_collection.rar file. It contains absolutely EVERYTHING you will need.

I'm not sure whether I've made this distinction before or not, so I'll run the risk of being repeatative...
Blakescape, as a server, is capable of very few commands. If there is an NPC command for BlakeScape, it is unknown to everyone (except for maybe Blake)...
The list of commands I included with the Vicious_collection.rar were commands that are guarenteed to work with MoparScape, and some of them (not the NPC or Object commands) work with BlakeScape.
Q&A Time!
Q: What Good Is BlakeScape if its so empty and sucks so much?
A: Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder... Someone who likes turning nothing into something will have a dream come true with BlakeScape seeing as it provides many challenges to the users, and the scripts are still easy to learn if your patient.
Q: How do I edit the way BlakeScape works?
A: Edit the files that you had to copy into the BIN folder... You'll be able to spot them by name.
Q: How do I edit those files?
A: Notepad opens virtually everything. Just open it with Notepad.
Q: What is all of this scripting supposed to mean?
A: Thats all stuff you have to figure out with time. For instance, look at the scripts that judge what your characters generate with and edit it. If you spot a change next time you run the server, you know the effect your editing has had, therefore, you will have learned what that segment of code does. Repeat as needed, use Google if you get lost.
Q: Is there a way to place NPCs into BlakeScpape.
A: I'll be honest with you, I didn't play with it very long, just long enough to help however many people I've helped... I'm sure if you got good at editing and interperating the scripts that control BlakeScape ANYTHING would be possible... It all just depends on how patient you are and how much you are willing to learn...
Q: Is there any completed Jagex-Like Private Servers we can download?
A: Not that I am aware of... The MOST "completed" private server I've ever run across was not available for download and was nowhere near the Jagex servers... If you're looking for an authentic experience, just spend the $5 a month. I don't believe that has ever bankrupted anyone... Ever. (Starving children all across America waste money on MMORPGs.)

you'll need himachi, that way your friends can join not that it matters unless youve actually fixed up the game so its atleast a little bit playable...
You can't wait for inspiration...
You have to go after it with a club.

If you've followed along with my NO-IP Guide you should have no problem and on that note, have no need for himachi...
