I've got a problem while compiling...:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_07\bin>javac *.java
'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_07\bin>pause
Press any key to continue . . .
I press any key and nothing hapens. And when I run the run file although nothing hapens. Do you know what could be the problem ?

For All those whom have listened to my advice:
I hope I have helped at least one of you figure out what it is you need to know. I've repaired my desktop and am re-creating my server, and while I'd love to invite you all to a private game of runescape, it is sadly not going to be that sort of server. My goal has shifted to a much more complicated and demanding server, one which requires multiple databases, as well as SQL editing, in short I've switched my server to: World of Warcraft.
What does this mean? Well this means I'm going to become less frequent in this particular thread, therefore, I'm kind of leaving you guys to look after each other. For a few pages now, I've been the one answering questions. And I really hope I've managed to help people. But I don't know if I will have the time to freqent this post anymore.
In the past 48 hours, I've spent 32 hours grueling over trying to get my private WoW server working, and I did. It was a success in its most basic terms. Still though I have much to do. Right now there are no NPCs and all of my creatures are invisible and I can't fight back when they attack me.
I plan to either find or start a WoW server thread and freqent it in efforts to not only learn what I'm missing, but help others as well. Perhapes I'll see some of you there, perhapes not. Its a much more difficult server to make. In any case, farewell and good luck.

Hello I'm new here and I need help on making my server...
Well I got the Client and Server at mmorpg.ragezone.com and Java, but I can't make my server because I don't know how to open the files. I opened it with Java's "ServerTool" program, but I can't do anything else from that point.

Bit late for a question, but meh. I have 2 just to be annoying...
1. I clicked on the Item Respawn download link and it came up with "Page Cannot Be Displayed" so if someone has the Item respawn already on their computer could they send it to me somehow..?
2. This might be because of the above, but when i clicked compile it says "Javac" is not a command/external command, or something...
is this because i dont have the item spawn or something else?

Yes, keithyb, i did all you said on the forum, and i got it all set up. But when i try to Log In, says the "Error Connecting To Server" And I used the name of mine (Bones_9999) and server of 127.0.0.1 then tried the Localhost but neither work, if you could please tell me what I'm doing wrong, I'd post a picture of my screen but i don't know how.

Ok, this is kind of easy if you know about dos and spaces.
The Code for compile if you don't want to move the server to your java folder should be:

That is the code I use and it works fine, but remember you NEED the quotes so it knows to keep going after the first space. Also, where I have "jdk1.6.0_01" that is the version of Development Kit I have if you have one that's lower i recommend upgrading to the most recent, and as time moves change the version in the code to what you have.

I have the same problem as a few of the other people. I can't access the item id page. If someone would please give me a better link to this, it would be appreciated, or if someone could send me the file via this site. Also, I would like to know if an IP I created from no-ip.com could be used to create a server. Please get back to me on this. Thank you in advance.
*edit* I solved my own problem using moparscape's downloadable version of their client,which contains full item and NPC ID lists.

im not sure if anyone is still on this topic and here to help, but im just going to ask, i have downloaded everything and it is all working except... when i run the compile it comes up with a message like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Adam Chudleigh\My Documents\runescape stuff\20051104-server>"C:\j2sdk1.4.2_14\bin\javac.exe" *.java
Note: stream.java uses or overrides a deprecated API.
Note: Recompile with -deprecation for details.

erver>pause
Press any key to continue . . .

Hey Chudz, if you go here and follow the directions EXACTLY on the second post on the page, then you shouldn't have any problems(in my case the only problem i had was logging into the server), then, once you've done that go here and follow this guide to learn how to register an IP for and edit your server. Good luck!

i followed that guide word for word, yet its not working, ive been over it what seems like 100 times yet it just doesnt work
C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13
that was the file location that the guide gave you, mines
C:\j2sdk1.4.2_14
does that make a difference? i may have got a different SDK download as the link he gave didnt work for me, so does that matter?
any light u can shed on the matter is a help

i think his link may be dated, i just searched the sun website and found a java sdk download link most similar to the one Vicious88 described. sry i couldnt find you a direct link to paste here.=]

never mind. i fixed it. but when i type 128.0.0.1 in the server slot, it doesn't work.CAN SOMEONE HELP PLS!!!
