cheers oggnogg ill put a crossover cable on my shopping list for 2moro! well im knacked now & im goin bed to save some energy for 2moro night (somehow i think im gonna need it)LOL thanks to you guys for answering my questions & i hope you dont mind im not really thick just not that well up on this sort of stuff(washing machine repairs is my trade)& some of the jargon some people use is like japanese to me LOL!!

oggnogg,
My box is now running fine with evocam.
I originally got it going by editing keys with mgcam as default.
Tried another box put updated nagrarom7 on left it a minute
auto updated then all channels came up, box as good as new.
Great stuff.

I need to flash the dbox but how can i get the i.p address from the box if i cant get into it , ive got Kein Systems at the start and that is it, i cant get any futher, i click buttons but nothing happens , Ive got the crossover cable and the null cable and downloaded the nagrarom7 and a image file to flash , but im stuck now ! im almost there apart from this brick wall ive hit , plz help !! thanx!

Use IFA for DBOX (there's a copy here

Null modem cable and Network cable - point it at any real flash (i.e. if you've got Kein - wrong- system and yours is a 2X box - then make sure you use a 2X image)
Dunno how clear people are about this 1 X and 2 X Images..
Inside a DBOX there are (were!) either 1 or 2 processing chips. Mostly Nokia but somtimes AMD (Though image wise it 'generally' doesn;t matter). If you take the top off a DBOX or when you've seen a few - look through the slots on the top - any box with 2 Chips side by side needs whats known as a 2X Image - similarly 1 Chip = 1X image)

Remember to (someone may clarify if this is still required - always was a few years back) run the Media Sensing Reg Edit - forgot that on a couple of early machines - dohh! That alows the IFA to run unhindered by windows (assume you have got your TCP/IP setup correctly) - I'm passing though m8 - so can't help with your personal setup - good luck ;)

Hi
i wonder if someone could be a gent and help me.
I was recieving all my channles on d-box until saturday i had to dicsonnect the main power to the box as I was doing decorating (arrgghh). But connecting it all back I went to turn it on a found out that I had no channels. i have tried doing a scan and have added the new codes in but am having no success with it.
Please can someone help me and instruct me what I need to do and where am going wrong.
I would be very grateful.....

Hi Guys
i wonder if you can help, i am really confussed. I have been reading the tread and it looks like there is an update you can do on the dbox instead of re entering the codes in every day. Please could someone give me a step by step guide, also it may sound stupid but whats an ethernet cable look like.
i have a nokia dbox not sure what type?
