Games that are bin and cue file formats are either for cd-based ps2 games or dvdrips. Either way, you need to burn these to cd-r's with your normal burning programs or Alcohol. Don't use DVD Decrypter for cd's.

Hi Corpse
the reason why it says 'disc is not a DVD is because it will be a compact disc game.Next time that happens try using a blank cdr disc.Plus Nero can burn Bin and cue files and DVD Decryper can as well.check the title of the game and go to www, cdcovers.cc and look at the PS2 covers it has it on the back CD Rom or DVD Rom.

to burn cue/bin games, you will need Nero buring rom (not express....will not work with express for burning dvd's) and the media that you want to put it on.

1.) put in the blank media
2.)open up Nero burning rom and select "DVD" from the dropdown menu under compilation
3.)choose open
4.)select the file types to be displayed as cue/bin, iso
5.)select the cue/bin file and click burn.

you are done.

not that difficult.

just remeber that you cannot use Nero express, you have to have the full version of Nero to get access to Nero burning rom (I have Nero 6 ultra edition full version) to access burning rom, go to the smartstart and click the button on the left of the screen to expant the menu and select Nero buring rom

@ opopop

You only need to do the dnas id patching if you plan on playing your game online. If you don't, then you don't have to patch anything.

@ darkbal

You are trying to play a PAL game in an NTSC system or visa versa. You need to check out a program called PAL2NTSC converter. This should be able to fix it.

Hi

I have read all the messages on this thread about backing up ps2 games by using DVD Decrypter and then using swap magic with a flip top.

I have tried to back up call of duty, finest hour following the given instructions and everytime it seems to have burnt the disc correctly but I get the message, invalid playstation 2 disc. Duh, I know that!!! It will not play. How do I get it to accept the back up disc as a valid disc?

I have made quite a few coasters now, enough for a small pub, and am completely lost as to what to do!! Can anyone help before I go mad?

Thanks in advance,

nefer

I have made a PS2 Backup of Rumble Roses on a Maxell DVD-R ( with the yellow plastic coating) using Dcrypter. When I use Swap Magic DVD 3.3 it says " Not A Valid PS2 Disk" Could this error be from not using the slide card correctly or has the backup been burned incorrectly?

Thanks :)

I have copied the ps2 game and swap magic works. I go to the intro/credit without any music, then it stops there. I cannot see the intro movie, therefore cannot go to the title screen to play.
Let me know what the experts know.
Thanks

rebuild the games using Isobuster and sony cd/dvd gen. they shrink the files which makes the game load faster and play good.

Ok kids, I'm going to clarift why it is that you cannot 'just copy' a Ps2 game on a 1:1 scale, and expect it to play straight-up.

Sony didn't invent some magic code, their discs aren't special. Genies are NOT in their employ I a-s-s-u-r-e you.

It's actually quite simple - and you guys (and gals) can take this at face value if you so choose, but I will throw out there that - I mod consoles commercially - Xbox moreso than Ps2 but the gist of the technology used is pretty much the same, copyrights and source-code not withstanding.

It's all in proprietary equipment, drivers, and Bios(es). I'm taking for granted that we all know what those are. It's not that hard to grasp - you cannot plug your Ps2 Dvd-rom into your PC (or Mac) and expect it to work - same goes for an Xbox, albeit an Xbox is closer due to it's inherint PC-based platform.

So look at it this way - The Bios that governs the booting sequence/procedure of either system is looking for this string of code (yes it is code) that ONLY a Ps2 or Xbox Dvd-rom can read (and only their manufacturing plants can inmbed in a disc)...that's where a mod-chip comes in. However, it IS possible to imbed that same code, well, a hacked/cracked version of it (or remove the search for it) via a mod-chip.

During the boot sequence it simply tricks the system that it saw the "copyright protection code" and from that point forward - it's business as usual.

I hope that clears things up for those who were asking...oh and people...please use a little correct spelling and puncuation...pretty please. That's all I ask in return for this info.
