Gday again.
I recieved my swap magic and sldie tool package yet the user guide is not included. It indicates on the packge that instructions ARE included but they aren't? I know how to boot a game and all my only problem is how do i connect the slide tool? I cant seem to find a way to use the tool properly.
Help Please!?!?

Hi Festing,
I just got my Switch Magic yesterday, which is the DVD/CD and the tools to put into my PStwo (slim 7000x).
You can get instructions on how to install at http://swapmagic3.com/
BTW I have been reading through these forums RE backing up my games, and I finally got it working earlier in the evening, I burn them at 2x to my DVD-R (I forget the media type, I Can find out for you but just can't remember right now!) and it works all fine.
Sometimes loading times are a bit slow but I'd say 80% of the time so far it has worked flawlessly.
I have not been able to successfully burn a disk with DVD Decrypter, however I have successfully made images with it and then burned with Nero 6.
Good Luck!

Do some reading you lazy git!
It has been discussed here about 1000 times.
DVD decrypter and DVD-R's.
Tip. Burn the DVD's are 1x or 2x, any faster you encounter problems.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE SHARED THEIR KNOWLEDGE HERE. I HAVE TWO KIDS, AGES 10 AND 4, AND THEY HAVE QUITE A COLLECTION OF PS2 GAMES. I HAD ALREADY BEEN BACKING UP OUR DVDS SO THAT THEY COULD WATCH THEM AT THEIR DISCRESSION WITHOUT MY HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT THEM BEING RUINED, AND LAST NIGHT, FINALLY, I SUCCESSFULLY BACKED UP MY FIRST PS2 GAME. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. THE DVDS I USE ARE AROUND .33 CENTS A PIECE AND THEY WORKED GREAT, SO I WAS THRILLED. I HAVE SWAP MAGIC AND I THOUGHT IS WAS USELESS TO ME UNTIL I TRIED WHAT WAS POSTED HERE. GAMES ARE FAR TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THE KIDS TO RUIN THEM. AT $150 IT IS WORTH BUYING A SECOND PLAYSTATION SO THAT THEY CAN BOTH PLAY! THANKS AGAIN!

Whew, read all pages up to this point..
Most of my questions are answered but a few not..
How do ya burn Dual Layer games? Is it the same as regular DVDs? - Only instead using a Dual Layer Burner and Dual Layer DVD-Rs..
Anyone know if/where theres a list of Dual Layer based games? I searched on Google and all I got was porn.. Or maybe there is a way to tell the difference between DVD and DVD9? Written on the case/disc.
Also had an idea. From what ive read you need a MDS file from DVD Decrypter after Reading the DVD to burn the ISO, but if you download from P2P ya only get a ISO file - my idea is - mount the downloaded ISO file in Daemon Tools and use DVD Decrypter to recreate the ISO file but with the MDS file as well! Anyone think that could work? Am I being too creative?
One last question, im using the Magic KX Slim Modchip (www.Modchip.ca) and it states that it can play backups online - does that mean when I burn games that can be played online I dont have to worry about patching the game?
Thanks for any help.

Okay what if I download a file from the internet? An iso file or a bin/cue file? How would I load it and burn it then? And some games I put into my computer it says "disc is not DVD" but its a ps2 game

if its an iso, open nero then go to file /open , find the iso.If its bin/cue go to file/open and selct the cue file but make sure they are in the same dir.if the image is under 700 megs make sure you select cdr as the media, over 700 megs select dvd as the media.
I seen alot of people talk about using dvd decryptor to make back ups but ive backed up games just using nero. I put the game in and make a dvd copy and it works every time, but ive never burned a dvd9 game this way. I bought my ps2 modded from someone that cant even find the internet and sold it to me when he couldnt copy games so i dont know what mod chip i have.
All i do know , is that its played EVERY copy ive made this was with nero and every iso, bin/cue and ,img file ive ever burned.

Explore this site for a few minutes. You can't play backups on a stock ps2. You either need to install a modchip, hook up a harddrive, or use boot discs to load them.
