If you got a very old ch*rus aerial the downconverter could using a higher downconverting frequency.
Try a manual scan at 682 and 690 mhz.

I tried a standard ch0ru$ auto-scan and a manual scan at 682mhz and 690mhz, but still nothing :(
Given that I am getting a good analogue reception is ok to assume that I have:
1) the antenna at an adequate height?, and
2) have the polarisation/orientation of the antenna arm correct?

When I connect the output signal from the power adapter directly into the TV I pick up SKY 1, SKY NEWS, UTV and TV3.
I will need to get a loan of another TV to check the frequencies they are coming in on. The TV I'm using at the moment only allows for an auto-scan which doesn't state the frequencies.

Apologies for hijacking the thread, but maybe someone can confirm that this should work, I have a Eurvox TX (there was a Sagem ITD60 from ch@rus in use) which has scanned and picked up the channels by using an automatic scan but it does not appear to be unscrambling the premium channels, havt the EX TX 231107 software from Eamo's on it.
Am I missing anything or should it work as it is ?
Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

Ok, my tv has 2 different ranges: CC and CH. Not sure what the difference between them is. Here are the analogue channels I'm getting:
CC04: sky one
CC08: utv
CC17: bbc one ni (poor quality)
CC19: tv3
CC46: sky one (again)
CC47: sky news
CC60: tv3 (again)
CH04: sky news (again)
Does this indicate if I do/don't have my antenna set up correctly? Thanks for all your help.

CC04 means 126,25 MHz and thats a cable frequency and normally not possible via mmds.
Did you install a old jerold box or such thing else behind the power inserter?

No. I connected the cable from the antenna directly to the power inserter input. I then connected the output from the power inserter directly into the back of my TV. I haven't installed any other equipment to tune in the analogue channels.
Do u think there is a fault in my down converter?
Do u think those channels are coming from a different source (eg. SCTV)?
Thanks

I guess your TV is showing the wrong frequencies.
Your mmds aerial is not able to receive the frequencies from a analogue deflector and Sky one from a deflector is not possible.
Try a manual scan at 698, 706, 714, 722 at your box.

I gave those frequencies a go, but still no luck. I'm completely out of ideas :(
I can get a loan of another TV to check the analogue frequencies again if you think it might be of assistance?
A friend of mine recently bought a downconverter from SatAndCable that I can take a loan of if you think mine is faulty?

I'm having similiar problems. Unsure if i got the right box now after all. I'm in Youghal area in east cork. Is it n*l or ch0rus mmds there? I purchased the eurovox tx box, aerial, downconverter and power supply from irish based website after recommendation from a friend living in cork city. Spent a lot of time yesterday putting up the aerial and now I cant get a thing. Zero signal. Problem is of right now there are so many things which could be wrong. Can any1 tell me is it even ch0rus mmds in my area and if so, whats the easiest way to troubleshoot? Get a bog standard ch0rus box and see if that picks up the free to air channels or what?
help!

The problem is to find out the downconverter frequency range. Maybe there is a sticker at your current downconverter.

I know that C*oru$ are the provider in your area and there is a beam bender across the bay on a house beaming into youghal, some parts of youghal get there signal fom cork city while others parts get their signal from the beam bender, beam bender will be vertical if cork is horizontal and visa versa , i hope that helps some

Its an old antenna and I can't find any sticker or markings that could be of help on it.
Given that it was a bog-standard ch0ru$ antenna I was hoping it would come in on the standard scan, but it seems this is not the case. I've been using ProgDVB and a USB-T Tuner (which i can confirm is working as I tried it in a friends house). I adapted the terrestrial input file to scan every even frequency between 200mhz and 1080mhz. It looks something like this:
[SCAN]
1=MHEG-5
2=LCN
[TERTYPE]
1=Ireland
2=JChorus2
[DVB]
;Position = Channelname,Frequency(KHz),Inversion(0,1),0,Bandwidth (7MHz=1, 8MHz=2)
0=441
1=K1,200.000,0,0,2
2=K2,202.000,0,0,2
3=K3,204.000,0,0,2
4=K4,206.000,0,0,2
5=K5,208.000,0,0,2
6=K6,210.000,0,0,2
...
...
...
438=K438,1074.000,0,0,2
439=K439,1076.000,0,0,2
440=K440,1078.000,0,0,2
441=K441,1080.000,0,0,2
The scan appeared to work, but no transponders or channels showed up. Would this cover all likely frequencies?
My friend has a downconverter from SatAndCable (see here). I am planning to take a loan of it some day this week. While I know a standard scan won't work, should I be able to find some channels around the 682mhz, 690mhz, 698mhz? If that works I'll buy the same model downconverter.

I know that C*oru$ are the provider in your area and there is a beam bender across the bay on a house beaming into youghal, some parts of youghal get there signal fom cork city while others parts get their signal from the beam bender, beam bender will be vertical if cork is horizontal and visa versa , i hope that helps some Excellent, I would be picking up that beam bender signal I reckon so, im down at sea level. I'll try rotating the downconverter to vertical.
Technically, how does the rotation differ in the pick-up of the signal??

if they transmit in say horizontal then you do have to change nothing as the down converters are supplied as horizontals, if a beam bender is broadcasting vertical, you must receive in vertical , to do this unscrew the 4 philips screws at the front end of the down converter, rotate plastic tip by 90 degrees, refit the plastic tip and point at the bungalow across the bay, if you still get no signal drive across the bridge turn right and you will see a bugalow up road about a mile or so with a big round radome on the wall of the house, point your antenna at this.

Chances are that the ch0ru$ antenna has the downconverter built into it. Is there a cable running from the antenna into a box which can be plugged into a power socket? If there is, this is your power supply. The power supply would have been needed in the original set-up 5 years ago, so I assume it is still there and working. The power supply receives the signal from the antenna, but also sends power up to the antenna. You will need to connect your Eurovox TX to the other connection on the power supply. If your antenna is still positioned correctly your set-up should be fairly painless.
I have never used a Eurovox TX, but you will probably need to flash it with an image. A quick search of this forum should point you in the right direction. I?d be surprised if there wasn?t a guide or sticky with the exact info you need.
Best of luck with it.

Thanks again sorry if these are simple questions

I recently bought a power supply from sat&cable (see here) which does the job.

I don't think so. I think the loader refers to the software on your PC which you use to flash the image to the box. But I could be wrong!!!
