If that is a CD scan... what did the DVD code out as at BB?

The Dynex from BB were CD-Rs, so I didn't buy anything from BB. The DVDs were from Office Depot-$9.99/50- and the above scan is what they are. OD 16X+Rs are Ricohjpn R03s, their O.D.8X DVD +Rs code out as Ritek R03s and also and have the same smell.

I've been using some Verbatim DVD+Rs so I can get DVDROM encoding.
That scans haven't been too hot but the disks are playable.
Why hasn't TY gone the DVD+R route?
I haven't bought any LiteOn drives yet for upgrades. Waiting to hear
some better positive comments about other brands. I miss Benq. (sniff.)

I don't buy as often as all of you do. Perhaps I wasn't looking
for TY plusses at the time and overlooked it.
Most recent buy was Verbs from Best buy and I still have a 50 ct
spindle of those.
The deals with sleeves the SMS has are the best ones IMHO.

If you can find Sony made in Japan 8X +Rs, then buy all you can, they are TY T02s and the very best. They are now hard to find tho.

did all the od's 16x coded out as Ricohjpn R03s?? how are those disc compare to the ritek?? does some batch coded out as ritek 005?? i kinda like those ritek they are my favorite give aways. i am thinking about getting some but wont be whole lot.

Strange that you should ask, as I had not opened the second stack. I've now done so, and they do code out as Riteks; but as P16 +Rs. Both stacks look identical, package wise down to the flimsy white round retainer on the top. They even smell the same. But are NOT. I would bet they were made in the exact same factory and are the same discs. One for Ritek and the other Ricoh.

Ritek makes ricoh dvd's. You might say riteks tools and ricohs blueprints.

i see everyone going with the -r TY's over the +r's other than the price difference is there a reason to go with the -R's.
ive only had 1 50ct sony16x-r(mij) cake box. never had any problem with them, just seemed wrong useing them. guess its just me...lol

I always use the TY +Rs in the Sony version, mainly I like to book type to DVD-ROM. When I run out of SonyTYs , I'll buy the TY+Rs online, but that at least a couple of years away. Still have 450 of the Sony TY +R T02s.

ive actually got me a nice little stash being built up. got about 200 16x+R verbs bout 70 hub printable 16x+r verbs bout 20 8x+r sony mij's..and just ordered 50 hub printable 8x+r Ty's

you guys took all the ty's man. i am only down to about 100
sony mij+r. i have almost a 1000 -r premium line 8x -r.
@garmoon,
can you tell the difference between od ricoh and od riteks??
is ritek p16 same quality as the ritek 005??

I haven't the foggiest. I've been using the OD 8X Ritek 03s for my daughter's discs, have been wonderful with no issues as good as the Sony TYs as having no coasters. The ricohjpn 16X (P16) I just got, I have not used them yet and won't for some time since I have 100 of the OD 8X Ritek 03s left before the 16X are used. The discs look exactly like the Ritek 8 and 16X discs. Like I said in another thread I believe they are exactly the same. All made in Taiwan too boot.

i just talked to a liteon tech about my problem with the new 18x drive i just got not being able to burn to TY media with any program other than imageburn.... check this out he said i shouldnt use TY(MIJ) media that it is no good.....WTF....said i should only use MIT media....other than verbs no thank you..

That is not a good sign if Liteys won't burn TYs. I think I would send it back. But what do you replace it with?

i juist got a bad drive i think.. there is alot of us here that now have this 18x liteon and they have no problems with it burning tys... a buddy i work with has the same drive and he burns TY's aqllday long. i just got a bad drive i think

cincyrob that Litey rep is an idiot!! It shouldn't matter what kind of media it is as long as it's supported in the f/w version. I know for a fact that it is cause I got the LH-18A1P as you know. Your doing the right thing I think. Sometimes companies or QC make a mistake and the product just isn't up to par. :)
garmoon don't worry about the Litey LH-18A1P, she does a fine job. :)
Here's a scan of a recent YUDEN T02 burn. :)
Don't ask I don't know what that spike is all about. Plays fine tho.
And another one done on the same day! Tell me they won't write/burn to TY media Mr. Litey Rep. LOL. This may be the best scan ever for me. Low on both PIE & PIF. :):)
Just something for the TY lovers to oooh and ahhhh over. rofl. ;-)

yea i sent it back today. and ordered another. they put the rush shippment on for me so it has shipped today... i might get it saturday if not monday for sure... just wish i could get them to replace the TY's i wasted figuring this out... 12 pretty little TY's down the tubes...it is something with the FW.. cause if i use imageburn i can burn to TY's but nothing else i was able once to burn with Nero express but not again.
thats ok i should have my 8x+r hubprintable TY's tomorrow burn a few on my liteon SHW-160P6S for a few days the rock-n-roll on the 18x monday..lol
i did overburn a 16x+r verb @18x... got a 93 on the Nero QS.

I actually tried a Verbatim+R X16 @16 on a benq1650 and got a 97 on the quality scan. Was shocked and awed!
