You've written a great guide here acidy, it's really in-depth but I have a bit of a problem. I followed all the steps but for some reason when I start my PS1 game the popsloader menu doesn't come up. Now I know they'll be people screaming something like "Noob! Your memory stick is fake! Why didn't you read the opening post properly?" but as far as I know it's perfectly real. I had a look at the guide to tell the difference between a real and a fake one, and I'm 100% sure it's not a counterfeit sandisk. I have enabled the plugin. Do you or anyone else know what the problem could be?

if he has popsloader enabled then the .txt is right
chances are you made a mistake with psar dumper and you didn't get all the prx or didn't name them right so just download my poploader pack in my signature and make sure your on cfw 5.00 m33-2 atleast

hi bro shaggy,i found a problem...how to convert iso to eboot.pbp
i use autopopstation4 to convert but failed.
i use magicdisc to convert game to iso(need 1/2 hour to convert the suikodenII,T_T) then i use autopopstation.
http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2238/psp_convert_psone_games_psp/
do you hav another converter,a simple than autopopstation?hehe...
^^
what game are you trying to get to work, I don't think it will be iso as that is completly different, psx2psp is a great thing to use, copy psx disc I use clonecd, use psx2psp convert to eboot, rename folder to name of game, put folder in game, and if any troubles follow acidy's guide it worked for me, good luck and if I can help you just ask and I will defiently try

@davpo
when you use clonecd, nero, burnimg or any other cd ripping software it rips them to .iso, .img, .bin+.cue or otherwise so intirially it could be and iso that you convert with psx2psp to make it a .eboot in say ms0:/PSP/GAME/FF7/Eboot.pbp

once popsloader is successfully installed and your eboot.pbp is in ms0:/PSP/GAME/WHATEVER/Eboot.pbp then it will appear in your games/memory stick and the first time you launch it will ask you the pops firmware you want to use, see the psx compatibility list in my signature after that the game should load as stated in the list for whatever pops you used for that game
if your not getting the setup screen for poploader make sure it is enabled in the recovery menu (hold R shoulder while rebooting psp) or hold R while loading the psx eboot.

you don't need the prx files for 5.00 since you can just use the option of popsloader to load firmware of current flash so you would just need to use popsloader 5.00 m33-2 on your m33-6 and as for the rest of the firmwares you need.
3.02-3.03: /kd/pops.prx, /kd/popsman.prx, /kd/meaudio.prx, /vsh/module/pafmini.prx
3.10-3.30: /kd/pops.prx, /kd/popsman.prx, /vsh/module/pafmini.prx
3.40-4.01: /kd/pops.prx, /kd/popsman.prx, /vsh/module/pafmini.prx, /vsh/module
or you can just use the pack in my signature.

Hey.
I'm having issues with getting PSX games to work too.
I'm using 5.03 GEN-A, on a 3000. I've install and got the 5.00 Popsloader working.
However when I load up a PSX game (Vagrant Story specifically) I go to start a new game and it hangs on the 'NOW LOADING' screen.
I've used several programs to get the ISO (Alcohol, ISObuster, CloneCD) and used several converters (Popstation and PSX2PSP).
I've tried on all the different Popsloader options 4.01 to 3.00.
Also tried without using Popsloader with GEN-A. And using CFW 3.60.
Still the same issue.
Can anyone help?

Don't think it's a issue with GEN-A as I've tried with 3.60 MHU.
And popsloader was loading up before the game as it should.
I'm able to view the intro cut-scene though. It's only after the main menu when I'm getting the issue.
I'm wondering whether it's the ISO's I'm creating. Does changing the read speed when using alcohol for example affect anything?
I'm using the PAL version, if that would change things?

The one on the compatability list is the US version and sometimes it does make a difference. I have only made a few (when I could not find what I was looking for on the net) I used PSX2PSP (the latest 1.4 I think) and it worked like a dream,
I created a .bin & .cue file (not the complete .iso) winiso and magiciso both convert them. Rename the .bin file (the only one you want) to .bin.iso (just add the .iso) mount to PSX2PSP and convert to an Eboot. this worked 100% for me.

thanks for the guide acidy. I'm a great fan of FF7 and found ur guide thru google.
I was following the guide to install the popsloader to play FF7 til I was stuck at step 5 where the message I got from my psp, when i press the "square" button after i run the "NEW PSAR Dumper", is 'could not find eboot.pbp file in root'. Hence, the extracting of the decrypted firmware files was unable to take place.
I did follow the instructions on the steps accordingly and also placed the seplugins folder and eboot.pbp file to the Root folder of my memory stick.
The only thing i could think of is that actually my Root folder in my memory card is named as MP_ROOT instead of Root. Is there a difference? My memory card is original sandisk. My psp version is 3.90 M33-3, psp slim.
Do you know where is the problem? Can you help?
Many thanks.

there is not a difference and you could try upggrading to the latest firmware 5.00 m33-6 and then downloading the popsloader pack in my signature so your up to date and see if that solves it.
