i wouldnt worry to much about it.remember these scans are more of a tool to get you in the ball park if its a good burn, not 100% concrete. the playback is what ya need to go buy. wait till you get your liteon and try scanning with that and see what ya get.

LOLZ.... that's about right for the Pioneer as a scanner. 1,000,000+ PIE's isn't unusual and I'd NOT worry about the scan for now. :D Once you get your Lite-On I would make sure your system is clean (disc defrag, cleanup, and so on) and then do some burns and scans. I'll be curious to see how you far out with it then.
tbh your PIF's aren't to bad as RedRob has said. Even with that scanner and the speed you scanned at. Once you get the LO go with 4x scanning, it's more accurate and more accepted within the "scanning community". :D
good luck with your new LO drive. :D

It may be a Pioneer underneath but it's still got the Plextor f/w and therefor uses Plextools. :P I never did find a cross-flash for those. IF I did... I'd own a couple :D

they're suppose to be TYG02 Hub Printable DVD-R x8 discs
however the hub code is GG854607ATY7BK which doesn't match GG00xxxx

can you give a link to the webpage? It would help us to determine the validity of the purchase and the "realness" of the discs in question. ;)
I'm guessing right now that they are fake, but a link would help.

I see the nz at the end of the address. Is that New Zealand? If so you might consider another shop and see what they offer. Did they tell you Made in Japan?? That will answer a lot too. I guarantee you that TYG02 media is MIJ only!!!!
If you can supply some websites that you might use maybe we can help you out. If anyone is from NZ some extra help would be nice. ;)

Just to be nice to picosys, I'll post an update to my purchase.
I've received my order of discs and turns out they are genuine!
Whoever replied my email didn't read the hub code properly (I guess I gave them a bad description of where the hub code is..um..)
the code emailed to me is the code on the transparent ring, which actually reads KB7YTA706458GG. The code given to me was typed backwards.
The hub code clearly shows G000283 which fits G00xxxx~
Time for me to join everyone here burning on TY disc!

I have already had a look at the firmware on CDFreaks. Flashed the drive using the C0deKing firmware with the Enhanced Online Hyper Tuning option. I only burn my discs at 4x or 8x, never higher, that's why i felt that overburn was not required. Am I right about this? Is there any other benefit of using the custom firmware with all enhancements?

i think it is personal prefference tbh. i have it on all 3 of my litey's only use it on 2 of them..
you have good burners and good media (TY) IMHO you shouldnt have to worry about burning @4x. @8x on them TY's you will get excellent burns. i have even burnt a few 8x+r TY's @12x and gotten 98% quality score.. and the disc is flawless...
with the technology that is out there now i dont see the need to burn slower than 8x(other than personal choice) the drives and media are alot better than even a year ago. so the slow days are long gone...now dont get me wrong i dont think there is a need to burn at max speed or even faster other than testing and playing around... which we all do..
give a few of them TYs a try @10-12x speed burn and see for yourself.you will be suprised at the outcome.

I don't know if these verb's are the old or new style, they are the blue and pink type packaging, the pink to you might be orange, its more pink than orange to me, but I think we are talking about the same thing.
I have bought these before about a year ago from officemax for the same price, regularly they sell for 35 bucks for a 50 pack, last year I bought eight 50 packs for the $15 price, its been a year since they put it on this sale price again, I have never had a single coaster from last years purchase if that helps any.
I went back again today, they had 6 more, I took all six, I asked the salesman if they will be stocking any more he said this was the last of them, so that makes it a total of 10 packs for me, that should last another year I hope.
