I really appreciate it..
Well, you'll need to get a Pandora Battery to downgrade to 1.50, then you can upgrade to 3.52 M33 (Still the best CFW) then patch it to 3.52 M33-4.
You will then be able to run your ISOs and CSOs simply by placing them in the ms0:/ISO folder.

I have a 1.50 PSP, and i've installed Fastloader 0.7. It's installed correctly, and I can run the demo iso no problem.But when i place an ISO into the ISO directory and select it to run, the psp seems to freeze and after a while turns itself off. Do i have to do anything to the ISO's before i copy them into the ISO directory?
Any help on this one would be appreciated, cheers,

Fastloader only runs 1.50 right? Not sure, but i think i remember it that way, you'll have to upgrade to play newer games, i suggest 3.52 M33. (And with that you don't need Fastloader or DevHook)

Andrew,
You need the Lumines UMD (ULES 00043) which has the 1.50 firmware on it, its an old game but easily available on ebay. Once you get the disc just do a google for 3.71 psp downgrade. There should be a tutorial out there to help you downgrade to 1.50. Once it?s at 1.50 you could upgrade to 3.52 M33. With that you do not need Fastloader .

There is no downgrader for a 3.71 PSP. There is however a downgrader for a 3.71 M33 firwmare but not for Sonys 3.71.
@Andrew
There is currently only one way to downgrade your 3.71 firmare PSP and that is via the Pandora Battery +JigKick memory stick combo. The good news for you is you can create both the jigkick memory stick and the pandora battery without a homebew PSP! The bad news is that you will have to physically modify your battery and afterwards you will not be able to use it as a regular battery. Actually if you are good with a soldering gun you could repair it but it is risky. Let me know if you are up to it and I will walk you through the entire process. In all fairness preparing your memory stick is as easy as running a program, its converting the battery that is slightly risky.

That's one thing i don't get, you know you unsolder that one pin? Why can't you just cut it, i'm sure it's thin enough to give in to a sharp craft knife...

Yeah if you have a really sharp razor or a fine set of cutters laying around cutting it will work just as well.
@Andrew
Alright Sony 3.71 allows you to play UMD games, surf the Web, and basically do what Sony allows you to do. The firmware that end in OE, M33, and LE are what are called Custom Firmware with the OE/M33/LE just representing the name of the PSP group that released the firmware. The main advantage of custom firmwares is that they offer you a great more deal of flexibility. Such as using plugins to extend the function of your PSP, using Cheat Programs for games, playing ISO's of games, and much more. Doing all this was possible on the early Sony Firmware 1.5 but Sony then released 1.51 to not allow people to do this. But through various methods people were able to revert/downgrade back to Sony 1.5. But when being at 1.5 you lost a lot of the features of the newer Sony firmwares such as a internet browser. So talented coders designed and released what we know as custom firmwares. They are basically a mash up of Sonys' latest firmware and the special abilities of Sonys' 1.5 firmware.
About Pandoras Battery. When in the "Pandora Mode" the battery will not be able to be used regularly, but you can convert it back to a standard battery. Since you obviously don't have a PSP there are a few ways to go about getting a Pandora Battery and JigKick memory stick. You can either buy a premade battery/memory stick off eBay or you can create them yourself without a homebrew enabled PSP. But creating the battery without a homebrew PSP means that instead of completing the process completely through software you will need to modify the battery itself. Doing it the hardware way means you more than likely return the battery to normal.

Ok so I need some help. I am going on holiday tomorrow and my psp is suddenly not playing ball.
Basically I have a downgraded 1.5 psp and have DevHook and fastloader on my memory stick. Up until recently I have been able to play iso files through DevHook but now all that happens is that I go into DevHook, select the game and it runs the UMD instead!! Why is it suddenly doing this? I havent played in a while so I couldnt rememeber if I start the PSP with a UMD in the drive or not but I have tried both and it doesnt work. Any quick help would be much appreciated.

Just upgrade to custom firmware (3.52 M33), it's so much better than having to use DevHook all the time, it's got far more features, and it runs all games.

I do have a PSP but i dont wanna ruin my battery if cant use it when i travel or go anywhere. Basically what i read is that if i convert my battery to a Pandora battery i wont be able to use it on the go away from home. And i do have a pro duo memory stick its a 4GB. If i use my battery and convert it to Pandora youre tellin gme the only way i can play it is with a home or car charger correct?
