Yes, that's the right place to put it, the things insideit will show up under the "Game" menu on the XMB, just like ISOs do.

I'm not even going to pretend that I know much about PSP Homebrew... but can I run ISO's/Downgrade myself from a 3.71 OS? I'm guessing no but I play mostly imports and we all know that's a hurt in the wallet. Any suggestions?

You can downgrade with a Pandora Battery and that's your only option.
To make a Pandora Battery you either need to get hold of another PSP which already has custom firmware (Or 1.50), or you have to "hardmod" your battery.

I think that error is down to having a firmware too low to run a particular game, so yes, i would suggest upgrading to 3.52 M33-4, that should fix your problems.

Upgrading to 3.52 M33 is pretty easy when you follow the instructions, and there is very little risk.
---------------------------------
Here you can find the 3.52 M33 update files.
You will also need the 1.50 EBOOT and 3.52 EBOOT files. You can get these here and here.
You will have to extract the EBOOT files. Name the 1.50 EBOOT to 150.PBP and the 3.52 EBOOT to 352.PBP.
Now take the M33CREATOR folder and place it on your PSP at this location: ms0:/PSP/GAME150/
Now place both the 150.PBP and 352.PBP files into the M33CREATOR folder on your PSP.
You can now disconnect your PSP from your computer and run the update. After it has finished it will have created another icon on your PSP, run this, after that has finished you will have firmware 3.52 M33.
Make sure your battery charge is above 75% and/or has a charger plugged in before you do the update.

Shokz, I have a friend with a Pandora battery. Is that all I really need or do I need a Magic card as well? The magic card I can create with my own... but I'm not clear on how to do this..

The phrase "Pandora Battery" is nearly always used to mean both the modified battery and the memory card.
Yes, you'll have to make the magic memory card as well, but why wouldn't your friend have that also? You can make it without a 1.50/CFW PSP by using the "Pandora GUI" (I'm not sure which other apps write all that you need onto the card from your PC).

Yes, upgrading to a custom firmware would be the best thing for you to do. To go to a custom firmware look around the PSP forums for threads on installing 3.52 M33 that is what you want. I won't bother to type it all here because I would just be adding to the previous umpteen million threads about the topic.

All you have to do is place your ISO and CSO files on your memory stick at ms0:/ISO/, you don't need any loaders.

That is exactly why many members(and most of the newbies) tick me off. First they butt into someone elses thread and start asking questions they have and they don't even bother to read any of the previous posts.
@Xaritah
If you are having trouble getting to 3.52 M33 Shokz has a walkthrough posted on this same page, and he also explains in excruciating detail how to properly use ISO's with a custom firmware such as M33.

If you put an ISO or a CSO into F:/ISO and it shows up as corrupt data then something is pretty wrong :/
If your card a fake? And have you really got 3.52 M33 (What does is say in system information?)
