Just upload a pre flash channel dump file from your box save it to your pc. Clear channel data on the EV, then flash with the Kuro image. After you have flashed it then download your previously saved CDF to the EV.
That way you can have a correct list of channels and ts list and also have the adavantages of the new improvements in the Kuro image. If you have already flashed with the Kuro image you will need to get a pre October flash CDF for your area/provider.

Heard a rumour C,C have a whole new system ready to be rolled out in 4 to 5 weeks, and the only box that will work will be the dreambox.Anyone know if this could be true.

Would you agree Scouser that they cant just ignore the amount of boxes that are out there and the amount of revenue they are missing out on, there gonna have to come up with a system that cant be hacked such as s-y. From what i heard they are changing all there units and cards and are not holding back on the cost.

Economies of scale would dictate otherwise. As for changing all boxes why would they when all they have to change is the cards. If you are speaking of an encryption level such as NDS/Videogaurd lets just say cost would also be a factor.
If I had a penny for every time I seen these rumours I would be a rich man. If it does come to the day that this happens well then it will just be a case of finding another way around the problem, is that not what has been done for years.

Getting service unknown this morning, so I done a rescan and it is only picking up a few free to air, and the rest is tvch1,tvch2,tvch3,tvch4 etc... when i click on a channel all I get is code being updated. Any ideas

had the same problem a while ago and was down to signal quality changed cable and contacts and re scanned
1 is it the main sorce or a split connection

If nthell were to go with an encryption by nds it would be all over, and it would never be cracked either, when ntlhell went with Nagravision - it was already cracked on satellite and they knew it!
So if they changed today to nds or viaccess 2.5 it would put them out of business because of the sheer scale of revenue it would cost them to A. Buy it B. Change every ntl box 3. Experts to sort out customers problems and staff to be trained.
It will happen but not 4 a long time yet.

Hi Scouser ,
I read what you have said above i received a call today from my UK supplier and he said that a new roll out of Nagra2 is to happen in Januay , he was very eager to offload his stock at a reduced price which lends some credibility to this, he thinks the 2008 eurovox will be the only one to handle this , which leaves digivox, starbox , eurovox etc users waiting for updated software if the new method is not craked.
As we have already loaded 2007 tsop to a 2008 box do you think that this could be reversed 2008 tsop to 2007 to enable update with the october firmware or will new firmware be released for those boxes beforehand .

Grace honestly dont worry about it as it is pure speculation. The new N** DVRs are already using a multicyrpt Nagra 2 card thats where all this originated.
Regards reversing tsops to attain the updates on earlier boxes I am afraid this wont work as they have a lot of differences. Tell your supplier that if the EV Max can beat this "supposed" encryption so can the other soft cam boxes, does he know what he really said with a statement like that :)

Scoucser i seen a msg from u here about the oct update and channels missing did u mean to get them back keep a copy of the sep update to the pc load the oct one and the channels come back ..? do ya need to redo a scan ... etc etc
