Quote: I tried the original dvd through shrink but it came up with an error saying invalid dvd navigation structure. Could it be the original dvd are corrupt? Though like I said they do play ok on my dvd player and through the dycrypter files on my hard drive (which are about 7.5gig). Any ideas?
Corrupt data, or the inability to read the data, can cause the invalid DVD navigation error. Decrypter is often better at decryption than Shrink, and this is why you were likely successful. I have also found situations where SmartRipper was better than Decrypter.

jdobbs,
I noticed some changes in the file versions used for RB. Is there any difference in using AviSynth 2.54 and 2.55? I saw another version of AviSynth can be used, which is best or are they all equal?

This is what I found in my config file
[Options]
AudioDub=0
idct7Opt=1
CCE=0
LoadPlugin=1
ConvertToYUY2=1
HalfExtras=1
ReduceOpt=2
OneClick=1
Completed=6
[Paths]
CCE250=E:\dvd\EclCCE.exe
MPEG2DEC=E:\dvd\MPEG2Dec3dg.dll

I will have a look for updates as I haven't done that for a while.

I'm looking forward to an update to my guide saying DVD-RB handles ILVU and multiple angles. Any idea when that will be available for us to try out?

If I were you, I would pay special attention to jdobbs, the man knows his own program. That is in reference to recording serials and the app recognizing file sizes.
As for the setup. The biggest thing it shows is you need to update and redo the configuration manually instead of just saving the old configuration file. There is no number of passes showing, I guess that the default is 1. The Basic does 2 and SP is capable of multiple passes. I've heard of no one intentionally doing just one pass.
I'll post a basic configuration setting for English, (that's all the 1s with the 0 in line for language and slanguage). There are the extra settings for robbing included in yours and some settings are conspicuously missing; VBR_bias=25, Quality_prec=16
and eclPasses=(?). Here is that Basic setup for comparison:
[Options]
OneClick=1
NoWarn=1
LoadPlugin=1
AudioDub=0
idct7Opt=1
CCE=2
[CCEOptions]
VBR_bias=25
Quality_prec=16
eclPasses=2
[Paths]
CCEBasic=C:\Program Files\Custom Technology2\Cinema Craft Encoder Basic_269\cct2.exe
MPEG2DEC=C:\Program Files\DVD Rip\MPEG2Dec3dg.dll
[Setup]
Languages=1111111111111111111111110111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
sLanguages=1111111111111111111111110111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
So, my advice is listen to jdobbs about file size recognition and set up accordingly. Obviously you need redoing the configuration setup a bit. If I were you, I would use vurbal's guide and go through and reset the program using the later upgrades where possible and in the process setting the selections where they should be.

Are you using a trial version of CCE SP?
Which version of RB are you using? If you're using .63 then you might want to remove the setting below and try it again. I can't say for certain it will help but it's a good place to start.

Sophocles,
He posted this Quote: I am using CCE SP 2.5, rebuilder 0.54 and Nero 6.3.1.2. I havn't had any problems until now.
I am wondering if that is retail or one of those free net versions or a trial. I read that the newer SP retail (2.67) sets up like Basic; but I'm not sure about the SP 2.50. Does it set up with ECLCCE like an SP trial?

I don't think you have to wonder very hard.
The recommendation stands. Purchase CCE basic. $58 is cheap. You get plenty of updates. Then donate 10-20 dollars to DVDrebuilder.
It is money well spent.

Thanks I find myself often jumping into the middle of things these days and I often miss earlier posts. He's using an older version of CCE SP which is surprising considering all the 2.67.0.27 retail version that are popping up.
I'm going with Donald's solution, 58 bucks and the lastest version of RB and problem solved.

I'd say we all agree on that one. The call is for update and upgrade and send the problems out the door.

Why not? Always room for one more comment on a topic; that is unless the thread gets too long and someone decides to close it down. I always wondered how long is too long. I only saw that done once, so I wonder if that is the limit.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/56/88038#585830 That one got nailed at 56, so this thread is getting there fast.

I wonder if sophocles will run Dare(i say it?)devil?

I just ran an unedited Decrypter file with multiple ILVU's through RB .65, and it didn't make it. I'm using AviSynth 2.5.4, and CCE Basic 2.69. The new interface doesn't ask you to point to the MPEG2Dec3dg.dll file, and so I put it in the AviSynth plugin folder (as well as the RB .65 folder). The rest of the options are set up like the previous Basic.
Here's the ini file:
[Options]
OneClick=1
NoWarn=1
idct7Opt=1
[Paths]
CCEBasic=C:\Program Files\Custom Technology\Cinema Craft Encoder Basic\cct2.exe
[CCEOptions]
VBR_bias=25
Quality_prec=16
eclPasses=2
I am getting the following two messages. They continually repeat, with only some of the numbers changing:
cce encoding failed: MPVA VBV ovf frame# 0 (00:00:00:00) I 15536(29.8)max 8192.00(15.7) rel 7344.00 1.90 qsv 112.00- >106.41
vinfo_open()failed: Bad data frames=0<D:\ASOMETHING-CCE\D2VAVS\V040005000001006.vaf>
Any ideas?

the interface was renamed to "path to decoder" in v64. you can point to the MPEG2Dec3dg.dll file or newly supported DGDecode.dll.

@ jacota20...
Thanks. I made the change with the MPEG2Dec3dg.dll. However, I am still getting the same error messages at the start of Phase II.
I started a no angle/no ILVU Decrypter file just to test the setup, and it didn't hang up at the beginning of Phase II. It looks like it will go OK.
Edit/Added: The movie completed successfully with the same settings that I had tried with the ILVU DVD.

Where can I get the new DGDecode.dll. file, I tried doom 9 with 3 different browsers and it won't let me DL it.
I was going to put it in my avisynth plug-in folder, as I had it set up previously with the MPEG2Dec3dg.dll file, since there is no box to check in the new version, is that all i have to do?
another thought, why doesn't it have the add to AVS file box to check now, could that be doc's problem?
Thanx for any and all suggestions :>)

OK, just saw your post richard, the interface was renamed to "path to decoder" in v64. you can point to the MPEG2Dec3dg.dll file or newly supported DGDecode.dll.
Does this mean we point to the DGDecode.dll in "path to decoder" and point to avisynth in the same path using DGDecode.dll (instead of MPEG2Dec3dg.dll ) in the plug in folder of the new avisynth 2.5.5 as we did before?
