Hi everybody, somebody probably asked this but for grand turismo 4 backup guides picture is not up there on page 5. So does anybody know what you suppose to do after step 5, something about patching? Thanks for your help.

does anyone know how to make a backup of Samurai Warriors 2 - Xtreme Legends... its a dvd9 7.72gb iso, i tried to first method but its still too large and will not allow the creation of the iml files... is there a way to shrink this game, i actually bought it but my old ps2 for some reason wont load it even though my purchased copy of god of war 2 works fine, i dont get it, i tried a lens cleaner too.. so i need to shrink the game and use it on swap magic... here is the file listing if that helps

i have the same problem with samurai warriors but my iso after rebuild with the first method have 1.7 gb "good" but my ps2 dont read him someone can help please

why dont you just buy a dual layer disc and apply the toxic dl patch, no garauntee but a lot less brain damage

Because they are using Swap Magic to play the backup. They can't play DL discs.

Yes that is the best method to have.
Or an ide hdd is also fine, which is what I use anymore along with the memor32.

Hi!
How can I extract a double layer PS2 DVD (Rogue Galaxy)? I downloaded from the first page the Apache 3 ,but it said "Cannot find Starburn.dll" (or something like that).So I can't use this option.Could anybody show how can I extract two layer?I know about those ripkits.I tested the method on the first page,but it did'nt work for me.
And a question for the first method : How can I choose the Disc Name?

When you first load up the Apache 3, just click on the "x" in the top right corner, it will then load properly.
Otherwise it will try to update and it can't.
Then just go to preferences after and unclick updates.

I referred on this.It is on the first page.
Second: I get through Apache Update ,then the "extract" step. And I got everything in a directory. I got the PAL DVD9 version and I start the DVD9DVD5 ripkit. After the finish of the DOS window ,i start the iml2iso. And it saids smthing is missing? What can i do? I made everything from step to step.:S

You can just use the RG1DVD ripkit and it will do all for you.
1.Extract from an ISO image all the files from both layers with Apache 2 or 3 into the same folder as the ripkit
3.Run rougerip.bat
4.When it is finished gnie's DVD IML2ISO will pop up.
5.Open rouge.iml and click Start
6.Burn the ISO at 4X with Imgburn.
The instructions are also inside the ripkit.
But in answer to your question, if its a SLES file then that is what you type in.

Go here to alucard.cc.forums ( you will have to register) to download the ripkit for PAL.

hello people i tried both guides like 50 times and i always get stuck on the stupid pss thing where it says activeskin.ocx is missing i put the file in system32 like 100 times i downloaded multiple activeskins from difrent sites and it still says its missing like its not even there help me plz >.<

pssplex full ver installer
this is to fix the pssdown tool, ACTIVESKIN.OCX problem
you just install the pssplex.then you can use the pssdown tool

1) Hey guys i downloaded Uefa Euro 2008 for PS2 from mininova...n its like 30 WinRAR type file, with file name "uefa.euro.2008.pal.ps2"
2) Then i extracted the first file n got another WinRAR file with the same name but the size is like 4.37GB
3) Then i read the post about "Rebuild the ISO with Gnie's ExPERT" and did the exact stuff, it even burned succesfully with "DVD Decrypter"
4) but when i try playing it on my PS2 it did not recognise it and prompts me to "insert any ps or ps2 format disc"
I have wasted 3 DVD's...
need help

The other winrar file you have that is 4.37 GB is actually your ISO.
You need to go into Winrar, open OPTIONS/SETTINGS/FILE INTERGRATION and untick the ISO tab.
That way your ISO will show up as an ISO.
What are you using as a soft mod to play your backups?
Swap Magic etc.
What type of disc did you use to burn and at what speed.

Ok now I can see the ISO :D and as a soft mod i use DVD, but donno which once +/-, coz i always buy them much cheeper then the original DVD's and i used a light scribe HP DVD+R to burn the file at 4x speed...
OK Do i Rebuild the shownup ISO with Gnie's ExPERT and burn it again with DVD Decrypter?

Ok thats good that you can see your ISO.
As for the softmod " I use DVD" I am not sure I follow you.
In order to play backups on a PS2, you need to either have a modchip, swap magic, or an exploit installed.
Basically a software mod, or hardware mod. The PS2 cannot play backups without one.
Are you using the latest Xpert V2 tool.
Password is xpert2xmas
The latest version has the @no sound selected whereas the old version you had to select a sound for it too work properly.
so yes then rebuild it using the tool, then burn with DvD Decrypter or its successor Imburn (which is free download)
If you ever need more plugins for the xpert tool, visit Gnie's site at alucard.cc forums. You will have to register to join the site.
