abuzar1,
Quote: Ok smartass :p
That's exactly why I sent the post! It was smartass, and had nothing to do with the question. Rob has made all of us aware long ago that he doesn't put a high priority on game performance, so what's the point. I realize you gamers aren't happy unless you can see the sheep's testicles swinging in the breeze in AOE III, but for us non-gamers, it's a non issue.
GM Said:Quote: I won't quote you guys but are you allowed to say things that ridicule certain sexual behavior?? :P
He is correct! Comments like that are not allowed here on AD! Expect to be warned!

shaffaaf,
Quote: ummm....more OCability, Xfire, more sata ports.... ETC, those are reasons to upgrade from a P35
Rob uses multiple sata drives, and the 4 on the EP43-DS3L would severely limit him! He won't give a rat's butt about XFire, but he has a chance of a better, more stable OC than with the P35!

Russ, just so we are clear I respect you and I was just joking.
Also, I'm not really following you. What's the problem here? Why bring up crossfire and gaming again? I already said the P43 doesn't have it and it's broken on the P45 and P35 as far as I'm concerned.

shaffaaf busted, couldn't happen to a nicer guy, who seems not to abide by the rules, even after repeated warnings.
Great going ddp, it is nice to see lightning strike on deserving people.

I don't know if you guys can help me with this but...
My computer spends an unusually and annoyingly long time at the "verifying DMI pool data" screen at bootup. Not so with any of my other computers....Looked it up and can't find anything...It's not new, been like this since I first booted...

A couple of questions! Are your hard drives IDE or S-ata? Do you have any flash drives plugged in. If you have an IDE hard drive, what is it set too and if it's set to CS, is it on an 80 wire cable? If it is, setting the drives to Master and Slave or just master if you only have a single hard drive, might eliminate the problem. I've only had this problem with hard drives, not optical drives!
Best Regards,
Russ

I had that with my board - solved it by unplugging a USB flash drive from my PC...

Rob is this for you dad or son?? I know you're not thinking about it for your own build. ;) P45, X48, X58 for a new build.... :P
...gm
i was looking at that board for the build i might do for my dad if he goes that route. he just wants me to get a new hdd and some mem for his system now. im trying to get a cheap new build for him.
the reason i was looking at the P43 board is because i was gonna use the E7200 on it.it being a wolfdale. i dont really want to put it on a P35 board.and the P45 is more costly than the P43. plus he dont need no P45 board. I DO.....lol and it only haven 4 sata plugins is fine. 1 for a hdd and 1 for a odd(one of the extra burners i have)
first day of school here. my oldest is in the 5th grade and my middle son is his very first day ever. kindergarten. he is so excited. plus my B-day. so i wont be around much today.
if i may quote someone.
"Cant we all just get along?"
piece,love,& axel greese.

Well, I tried what I could try from that link, but still have the problem. It's interesting because sometimes it'll be gone in a couple seconds, but most of the time it'll stay on the screen for a more than 10 seconds. Not a huge amount of time, but enough to be noticed. Unlike my old pc, where it's gone in less than a second. Anyway, thanks for the help....I'll try and figure it out somehow.

I use a wireless mouse and keyboard receiver. I took it out, but it made no difference....still stays on the screen for 10 seconds.

creaky: I googled it a while ago already and never found a solution. And most of the problems that I saw other people have are that they can't get past that screen, where mine just takes a little longer to get past it.

To be honest, I'm exhausted after the absolute trial of getting the 4870X2 to work. When I had the pair of 3870s, I could just take the second card out of my case to end the horror. Not possible with the 4870X2, I'm probably going to sell it, in short, it's crap.
