Adding another few scans of the same disc burned with the LH-20A1S.
Burner: Lite-On LH-20A1S @ 12X
Engine: IMGBURN @ 12X
Scanner: Lite-On LH-18A1P @ 8X
TRT: LH-20A1S & Optiarc AD-7071S
MID: MCC-004-00 {CMC made Verbatim MCC 004}
stat
scan

LH-20A1S TRT

Optiarc AD-7170S 1.M1 TRT

This is a fairly typical result with this drive (Lite-On LH-20A1S) and this media (Verbatim MCC 004). I'll admit that DVD+R media "scan" better than DVD-R media. I think that others have touched on this and it's not worth going over it again. ;) I can post some more scans if you like of something like TYG03 and MCC 02RG20 or other DVD-R media but I know for sure they won't be quite as good as DVD+R on a consistent basis. :D

Thanks Rob. ;) NOT really showing how good the MCC 004's are but how the LH-20A1S is performing. ;)
Unless you need some CD-R's I wouldn't buy the ODepot deal. You can get Verb's at Best Buy for $12.99/50 pack or just wait for OMAX to do there deal again. LOL. Shoot with the trade in deal you always get I wouldn't shop any where else. :P
btw clutter away that's what it's for. lol. BUT the scan thread has been a little sloooooooooow lately so a scan or two in there wouldn't hurt. :P

Has anyone pulled this off before? It was new to me...I was letting a friend use my machine and I looked and all four drives where going, asked what he was doing and stated coping, backing stuff up! then he told me it was two diffent DVDs? WOW- he did on the fly two diffent DVDs? could that punish my PCU? going to do it again and check temp and useage...I was just wondering, been reading these threads for some time now and have never heard anyone doing that?
One he used CloneDVD2 and the other was 1ClickDVDcopy5

herrick,
I've never thought of that but you got me curious now. :) The only way I see it is using 2 different progies like he did. I would think some punishment would be seen but I would also think it would be SLOW........

Im going to do some fooling around later...but I do not beleive it was that slow, although one finished much faster [1clickDVDcopy5] and I knew 1click does not have that much of a deferance...so did the same movie in Clone and it was only a min. fast in that movie [I have found speed deffers on some between the two but on the nomal not much] anyways it looks like one might get more attention then the other if that make sense...I dont know, but its cool...if everything turns out OK...Man double the saving time

@gm,
Not necessarily slow. Herrick has a dual-core machine so each program will run on a separate core and it sounds like it was a disc to disc copy so maybe no hd thrashing.

You dirty bragger you!!!! :P
Like to see some of those experiments fellas. Sounds cool and it's amazing I've never thought of doing that. I use Nero for multiple burners of course but a multiple encoding/transcoding procedure sounds like some fun. ;)

I asked like 2 years ago...but dual core was not as it is now- I was told not to try- a matter of fact I would not of but my friend forced the issue...very pleased though, now its about really paying attention to the facts after running a few tests tomorrow or tonight...

Herrick just looked at your sig again. ;) You have the AMD X2 4200, right? Is it the Manchester or Toledo?? Just curious because I picked up the 4200 Manchester today for $74 delivered. ;)
I here ya on NOT doing it with a single core but I think you can get away with it on a multi-core cpu. :D

The new PC i've been building is almost completely silent, http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/569840/3583601
..had to see it up and running before i could believe it, and haven't yet bought any SATA dvd drives for it as all the ones i've read about (and used) have been screamers, no excure for an optical drive to be loud in this day and age, sticking to all my existing optical drives in various USB2.0 enclosures
