I figured that using the latest 3.50 version I cannot get all channels, so I tried the first 3.02 and scanned on all networks and i got all channels, but not in order i.e. there are lots of bbc 1 coming up as 21** as opposed to 101. Then I don't know if this software related, server issue or virmin blocking my ip, but I flicked to baby tv and got scrambled, flicked back to previous working and got scrambled on all this happened again after reboot. Then I switched on my sub box and got please wait message on some normal channels. So i switched off the kv box, after half hour sub box was ok, put this on standby, turned on kv box no problems for hour. I have virgin Bband and tv on one cable splitting to modem, sub box and now kv box. I notice the picture is hazy. Do I need the sub box on?

Quality only bad on low frequencys,s*y s2 for example, 1,3,4,all perfect, what subbed box?
your providers box ?? if you dont have one of these this is why you are having problems with your cable as if you only pay for Broadband they reduce your incoming signal so you cant split it to use on your tv so if that is the case you will have to make do with what you have
Thanks for your help but I dont undestand.

DO THIS ON DIRECT FEED ONLY NO SPLITTERS
Ok lets start at the start and follow this ok
1 menu >> installation >>> factory default your box password >>> 0000
2 unplug your box from the power socket wait 30 seconds and plug back in
3 next screen you see is the scan screen scroll down to auto and press ok
4 next screen you get put your provider on top leave the next one alone set to default NETWORK
5 press the green button on your remote only let the box scan
6 next screen you get list of net id find your one or nearest to you and highlight it and press ok
leave the box to scan let me know then when this is done what you get

well then you will have to put up with the bad quality issues you are having as it down to the cable that you are having the problems and until you get that sorted you will have to live with the channels you have at the present time

Thanks for that info on finding out my netid. I got it off my sub box, maybe how to do it should be mentioned in the tutorial. I scanned on the 41069 lewisham net id and got all channels on ver 3.06. I downed this via software update feature. I have already come across a couple of problems with the kv. 1) Sometimes when you change from full picture to epg mini picture it freezes with a scrambled mini picture i.e a little box on its own. reboot fixes it.
2) If you click on audio button, select it, then exit and go to another channel, you get scrambled channels again. yesterday when it happened first time I turned it off with standby button, put it on again and got welcome screen which you get after factory reset, so I had to rescan again, but this happened again after with the audio button. Then I had to reboot from back switch.

How would I know if my box was being blocked by virgin? When I request audio or subtitles on say sky movies, the kv get this from the cs or from virgin. because I'm assuming that by requseting audio, some how virgin are seeing this request from me and therefore blocking me. In which case rebooting the kv box fixes this due to dhcp giving the kv a new ip.

please remember this is NOT a subbed box and as such will not do the same things your subbed one does as that is made specifically made for this purpose.
The box you are using is mainly to just give you Tv channels and not a lot more really

I know the kv box won't do what the sub box does. But as they have provided an audio button then you would assume that this would work without causing a problem such getting scrambled channels after. Most of these new firmware releases improve on and I hope fix problems found on previous firmware i.e. 3.02 etc. So by pointing out these issues I hope someone will be able to forward these bugs to the developers so that they can fix it. Otherwise why put an audio button on the remote?

you either need to set your com port up or i suggest you use a win xp pc to do it or try this below should be the same
ok first go to start go to my computer righ click and go to properties
go to hardware tab >> device manager go to ports ( COM & LPT )
click on the little + sign and find com port 1 or what ever com port number it says remember the number Communications Port
click on it to highlight it then right click it go to properties then look for port setting tab on top
click that i there you will see
bits per second set this to ======= 115200
data bits ========= 8
parity ============ None
stop bits ========= 1
flow control ====== None
then go to advance button and press ok
next setting in there is
tick the top option MAKE SURE THIS IS TICKED
receiver buffer ======== High (14)
Transmit buffer ======== High (16)
com port number use the tab on the side and change it to 1 if it says in use ignore it and force it to use this
MAKE SURE WHEN YOU DO THESE SETTING YOU PRESS OK ON THE RIGHT TO SAVE ON FIRST BOX
THEN OK ON THE NEXT BOX AS WELL THIS MUST BE DONE
THEN GO BACK INTO THE DEVICE MANAGER AND CHECK YOUR SETTING TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE CORRECT
