I have a Fat Psp 3.90 OFW, and i want to get CFW, i bought a battery off my friend for $5 to make into my pandora, i dont have a memory stick but the standard 32mb, i wanted to know if i can go ahead and buy a 4gb sony pro duo and still use that memory stick to downgrade and upgrade to CFW.
i want to play isos and emulate. what CFW is best for me,

4gb works with all mine. some of them are fake, so watch out when you buy it online.
The highest custom firmware is quite good, but im sticking to 3.80m33-5.

I'm modded 2 slim psp's and now I'm trying to mod another. I need to make another magic stick because I formatted it. But now everytime I Try to start the START.exe I get this Windows cannot access the specified device, path, of file. YOu may not have the apporpriate permission to access the item. But I don't understand why , I'm the administrator. I never had this problem the first time. Oh and AVG keeps reading it as a virus. Anyone know why?

Format Memory stick using windows. Then install using the CMD. Make sure you don't have a fake mem stick. Check by pressing /\ at the memory stick at the XMB. If it says magicgate supported then its real otherwise you'll need to get a new one.
Note: Ebay has lots of fake memory sticks. Try get them from stores instead.

Hi, I would like to say better and safer than hardmoding your battery or buying a tool battery is buying a tool batery maker. it cost as much as a tool batteer but instead changes your psp lite fat slim intao a tool battery with a click of a button. then u camn change it back to normal by butting it back into the box thingie and presseing the button. search it on google
Had norm psp that was hacked to pplay iso's, got that thrown out a window, got new psp reg , gave that to bro when i got slim/lite psp. need to hack that

Bricked PSPs can refer to my Unbricking guide here
The tool battery is more safer than hardmodding your battery. The service converter can also be used. I have never used it before and have heard that it can sometimes keep your battery in service mode.

I downloaded the files at the beginning of this thread but AVG keeps saying they are a trojan horse (trojan.horse.dropper.generic.WBU). I cant even find any info about this virus on the web. searched this thread and didn't find anyone with mentioning anything similar...wtf?

so in the guide when moving psp and 1.50.pbp things in the root of mem stick, i cant see picture and movies folders in it???

AVG throws up Random things. The files are perfectly safe. My AVG says they were trojans but they aren't so just finish the download.

The RAR file you downloaded must be extracted. Every single bit of it! Then when you do the START.EXE, follow steps carefully. After that you put in the ADD_ON file.

Ok got my magic memory stick to work and battery. No it says I have version 3.90 M33-2 on it. Now How do I play iso games on this baby. DO i need to download additional software or make an ISO folder. Where do I make folder if needed. I dont see and ISO folder within Magic Memory stick. Any help would be great

I also got the trojan horse message form AVG form both download sources so i disabled AVG and extracted the files but when i hit start.exe windows gives me this message "windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." What have i done wrong. I have administator privledges and i'm on vista if it's important.

Like i said earlier. You must have everything. The rar files in the same folder as the EasyInstaller as well. If you look at the guide on the first page, you will see the Rar files. Make sure they get put in as well.

I need help, when updating, starting MUX2.0 gives me an error that the game could not be started (80020148)..

Hey Larry, suggestion for you and everyone looking at this post. Guide is awesome, but i suggest of Buying the Battery Tools Service instead of the Datel Tool battery. I have one of my own and it works just like what it says. http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/PSP-B...__EF000530.aspx .
Also, another question regarding PSP. Slim Version is now @ v.3.90 m33-2. but i wanna run a 1.5 homebrew. Any links on how to do it? Which Firmware should i load instead to run a homebrew.

Sorry, but I can't get past get the start.exe to work. I keep getting this error
I have read some of the previous posts and they say to make sure the rars are in there like on the first page, which they are
But I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong
I've tried following the guide but it doesn't work for me for some reason.
Can anyone help me with this?

This error has nothing to do with not having all RAR files in correct place or that the EXE file is corrupt.
Read what the error is telling you. It is saying you do not have permission to run the program because your not logged in as an administrator.
Another issue could be that you are using Windows Vista.
So log in as administrator if you have that access.
If running Windows Vista find a PC that has windows XP on it to run the program.
