What version PS2 is yours. I have Black V14 and I use the Magic Keys II and it plays flawlessly with SM 3.8 Coder.

1. sorry i am not sure, i think it was at least generation 1 or 2 (not sure what V they are).
2. it works fine i was just wondering if there was a way of avoiding the friction that causes my DVDs to get scratched along with the swap magic discs.

I know I have read somewhere on this forum about other people with same problem as you.
Just type in Magic Keys in the search function and quite a few topics come up. I am sure one of them might help you out.
Also to tell your version of PS2 just check on the back label and then go here:

hey guys thanks for the help, but i fixed the problem, all i did was put tape on top of the disc break to hold it back, and it works fine now no scratches and the disc keeps spinning. Another trick, hold the disc break back until swap magic asks you to swap discs, then let go to swap the discs, close the tray and click X to start program it should work.
Hope this helps for the others with the same problem. :)

Hi,
How can we unpatch for HD loader. I have an iso which is patched for HD Loader and works fine with HDLoader. I want to create a DVD of this ISO and make it work with SWap Magic 3.6. How can I do that?
Do I have to create a SWAPMAGIC folder and rename the SLUSXXX.XX file to SWAPMAGIC.ELF. The iso already has the following files :- LOADERA.ELF,SLUS_212.40, SWBFRNT2.ELF and SYSTEM.CNF apart from the folders like CNF, DATA, IRX, etc. What other files do I have to put in that folder and what changes do I have to do for other files/folders.
I already wasted a lot of DVDs on this and still not able to make it work. Any please is greatly appreciated please.

hey, i know i figures out the problem to my last question, but im back with more. lol i looked underneath my ps2 and found the serial code it's SCPH-70011(a), i found this on mod-chip.com and it said i was compatible with magic keys 2, the only problem is the third piece keeps undoing itself. My warranty has probably been expired for 1 to 2 years now, and im wondering should i open up my ps2 and tape down the sensor, and if so would one of your kind people supply me with a link on how or write a tutorial, ive looked and no luck.

Hey
I've tried everything, it still doesn't read my magic swap DVD.It plays all other games but not the swap magic, well sometimes it does but then doesn't work again.
What the hell's the problem?

Ok I think I got it working now, BUT everytime it seems like MS is going to boot, it sends me back to my memory card screen.It shows the DVD in there but it does the same thing if i press X.

Ok I think I had that happen too, make sure your magic keys are all in place, check the 1st and 2nd tool.
If its a fairly new purchase and this keeps up send it back for replacement, specially seeing all else works.

Eh I'm actually using flip top.
This is stupid, it works, then it doesn't work, it works, then it doesn't.
Sigh I wish I had just saved up for a premodded ps2.

hey man, ive had this happen to me too (but i was using magic keys)
and i believe the problem was the disc stopper. so id check that and if im not mistaken i remember reading some where that the fliptop is even less reliable thank the magick keys, so if your using slim ps2 why not open it up and tape down the sensors. it works great and it seems to make the dvds boot fastser. Good luck

hi guys please can you help me im using swap magic 3.6 with a slim line ps2 and burnt sevral games to disc they worked fine i then got rid of the ps2 a few months back i recently bought a new slim line ps2 but i cant get any of my backups to load with it they just come up with not a valid ps2 disc but they worked with the other slim line why not this one? is it possible that my new one wont read DVD+R media i used panasonic disc to burn my games but tried a cheap disc DVD+R i burnt friends the one with the trivia and that loads fine but crashes after a while any help would be great

you need to get either the swap magic keys or remove the slimline lid and tape down the switches do a google search for tapemodding a ps2 slimline for swap magic

on youtube a boy just put a black thing on the ps2 then he loads the game. any helps

post me a link to it and i will take alook but the easiest way is to undo all the screws on the bottom of the slimline stick some duck tape over the switches that tell the slimline whne the lid is open put it back together and you will now be able to boot the slimline with the lid open and the disc will now keep spinning when the lid is open wait till the swap magic disc stops spinning take it out put your back in and press x on the controller close the lid and bingo your backup will boot

Ok i have looked at that video the guy isn't using a black thing the method he is using is the tape and tissue mod which is what i was telling you to do before go here and follow the guide

follow the guide to modify your slimline and yes you will be able to close the lid when you get to the step where it tells you to stuff tissue in the censor hole dont just gentle lift the little circuit board out its the power switch circuit board if you look at it closely you will see the little switch on the circuit board just stick the switch down with some tape taking care not to tape over the power switch otherwise you will not be able to switch the ps2 on goodluck it is quit easy to do i have done hundreds
