i was really looking forward to sony actually saying something about the ps3 at ces. they say nothing new about it other than what everyone has heard already. i have seen the ces sony timetable and nothing is scheduled to talk about when the ps3 will be released. but if what you are on about is true about them switching to ati graphics then when are they gonna finally end up with the product they want. do they know what they want? if they dont hurry up every new peice of hardware or new tech stuff developed while their messing about, they will want to add into the ps3. sort it out sony.
you say that the ps3 will win hands down but until i hear anything new i will have to stick with the xbox 360 as its the only one.

Sony has worse problems than trying to keep up with microsoft thier game makers are having problems because the don't have a finished product to build to. This is the first time sony has been sucking hind teet and they are having a hard time handleing the pressure.

lets all agree that UHALL is a fanboy. everyone tell ppl about the ati thing, make it known.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

PS3 games are going to cost 90 bucks a game...it is harder to make the disc with that much capcity, i don't know how the HD DVD discs are going to cost for the 360, they won't cost 90 though cua they still aren't as large as blu ray discs, and yes that is a tru fact...do you sony fans think u can just get all that much more spacefor free?? lol nice thinkin

anubis mate you said about a thousand negative things about the 360 its just probability that you had to get at least one of them right. Its a case of putting infinity monkeys on typwriters and eventually they will come out with every novel written. Secondly reasons whilst your busy spitting on your 360 I just wanted to put this across, m$ has NOT said they will be using the hd dvd attachment for games, it is entirely possible it will only be used for movies and the like. I mean dvd may be okay for this gen, just means having multiple discs for some games, and although kookoo or anubis say it will not and you will have to use hd dvd for games they ARE NOT GAME DEVELOPERS and so do not know this, Now as for lies BOTH companies lie as much as one another (sony lie or manipulate words to make their console look like a super computer whilst m$ you have just yourself shown how they lie) I wouldnt trust either.

how can you be so stupid? http://blu-ray.com even says the production will be cheap, nor more or even less than hd-dvd, and over time costing no more than a dvd is now. bd-roms require 1 less plastic injector, but need more fine metals. things like this are getting common, it wont be too high in price for too long.

it was more than one of the things i said. most of my bases for disliking the 360 has been confirmed.

I was amazed when my friend told me that he had been working with the dev units for quite some time, so I asked him, Is the PS3 going to own? And he says yes. Then I started talking about the awesome nVidia graphics, and he's like, they switched to ATi. Then I was like, wait, what? Then I got mad because I hate ATi and if anyone want's to argue that, I'm game. Supposedly they went ATi because they promissed to give Sony a chip with a whole new architecture as appose to nVidia who was going to basically just modify their geForce 7 series. That wasn't good enough for Sony. The whole deal pisses me off because I don't think the ATi will perform any better than that of the nVidia. My buddy says he'll probabally be getting another dev unit soon, and if I still post here I'll let you know of any changes and if I don't I'll tell Anubis. But they are using XDR memory for a fact and that stuff rules. I want it in my PC. The PS3 should accel in the Anti-Aliasing and texture quality with the memory being seperated from the system. With this new XDR system memory being so fast hopefully it will almost serve as a giant cache for the CPU and cause some mind blowing performance. Further more, there is no way games can cost 90 dollars. No one would purchase them and Sony knows this. If BD-ROM disks were to expensive to make they would have used HD-DVD's. I trust Sony's judgement.

Quote: #15. Xbox does NOT have more memory than PS3. Xbox uses shared memory so yes, it does have more system memory, but considering 256mb's of it are going towards the graphics, theyre the same in memory ammount.
Ok u got your facts wrong......
Its not how much memory there is. Its how fast it runs.
1gb ddr sdram runs at lets say.....800mhz?
256mb of XDR ram runs at 3.2ghz
Which runs more efficent?
The 256mb.
The 256mb XDR is probably = to like 1.5gb of ddr sdram.
The xDR memory performs better than the 360's total 512mb of ram. Which runs at what? I forgot.

And forgot to add somthing
Ps3's GPU is 256mb memory.
Ps3's CPU is 256mb xdr memory.

I found a little somthing.
http://www.gameshout.com/news/012006/article2389.htm
""We are still stumped on the launch date for PS3, as there are so many conflicts. Sony told us a few days ago that Spring 2006 was still the launch window, however, they also told another source that the PlayStation 3 will be unveiled at E3 this year. E3 happens in May, late Spring, early Summer. Some gamers speculate that maybe Sony means a Japan launch first in the Spring, then North America and Europe.""
So in MAY? MAY 16 correct? May 16 this year? WOW, i dont want to wait that long. So ill guess its comming out in fall\winter b4 holiday. O well..........:'(

Ok number one, they've released multiple dev units as hardware progresses and the different dev units become more and more like an actual ps3. There was only one Xbox 360 dev unit before release and only one Xbox dev unit. I asked my friend and he said there was two PS2 dev units before it's launch, so maybe it's a pattern with Sony's consoles? Who knows. And also the Rambus XDR memory - wait, I think you misinterpreted what I meant. It's a common Xbox 360 arguement amongst noobs saying that it has more memory than the PS3. And technically, yes, it does have more system memory than the PS3 because it shares the total 512MB's with the GPU. Split even. If you know anything about computers, shared memory is always less performance. And also yes, the XDR memory rules, and yes you were right about the 256GDDR3 memory with the 256XDR system memory. I think you thought that I was saying the Xbox 360 was better in the memory department, which I most certainly was not. I know the system memory in the PS3 will be running at 3.2GHz non DDR speeds (Double Data Rate). I suspect that the GDDR3 memory will be running around 1.8GHz or so. And Anubis I looked on the playstation site, You're not still getting your information from the non updated press release of May 16th 2005 are you? Because if you are, that's quite some time ago.

so they will cost more, but not by much. like i said, after a little bit of time, a bd-rom will cost no more than 1 or 2 dollars to make. but that will not increase costs of the game because its a small number and companies are ordering in bulk meaning more production, leading to cheap and cheaper prices.

to people who think halo is the best game and it sold most. well it was the highest selling game on xbox. but on the ps2, gta:sa sold 12 million, gta:vc sold 12 million, gt3 sold 11 million, gta3 sold 10 million, and gt4 8 million. all tho are sold for the ps2.

by the time sony bring out the ps3 it will be more powerful as they are changing it all the time, cos they know they were beat by the 360. A ati guy did a interview with edge magazine a while back and he said that the nvidia graphics bit on the ps3 was "unrefined" all you PS3 fanboys said it was rubbish. but now sony has realised it what rubbish so they change it.
