So it's almost official that Nintendo's Wii-mote + nunchuk will be more expensive than the 360's wireless remote and the ps3's "sixaxis". Chalk one up to Sony and Microsoft.
"Sixaxis" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Then again, it sounds cool.

how is it arrogant and/or hypocritical if it could be true? we already know that the 360 can do what first year ps3 titles can do (assassin's creed, for example), is it that far fetched to say that, at the moment, second year 360 titles could look better than ps3's first years?
more importantly; Who cares?

For PS3 owners, the Galactus battle is a perfect example of how the tilt control makes for a unique experience. While 360 owners get the standard button taps to beat the mini-game, PS3 owners tilt the controller to match the commands onscreen in order to defeat Galactus. These are essentially the same mini-games between the two consoles, but the tilting gives far more sense of control. The timing of the mini-game feels slightly off, but Activision still has several weeks to tune before Ultimate Alliance must be submitted for approval for PS3.

There are two more common uses for the tilt control seen throughout Ultimate Alliance. Charged attacks (normally charged by holding down a face button) are charged by flicking the controller downward. It's a bit awkward and the timing isn't intuitive, but after a few tries, it's easy enough to manage. It doesn't seem to add much to the experience, however. You can also use the tilt to toss enemies. Grab an enemy and tilt the controller in any direction to chuck the enemy aside. There are a few powers that use the tilt control in a similar fashion. While the charge-up move using the tilt control seems unnecessary, tossing enemies about is a great use of the PS3 functionality.

Another thing to toss into the mix is that the 360 can run burned games, where we know it will be very long if ever that the ps3 games can be burned. So then you pay what is it 60 or is it more now, and 1 scratch or finger smuge and your done.

@emachin
really, i didnt know the 360 cud do that
it plays burned 360 games as well as xbox games?
one thing to note when u sed one scratch or finger smudge
blu-ray discs have a thicker layer than any of the other optical formats, if i remember correctly , so it wudnt just die with a smudge or one scratch
it needs a pretty good , deep scratch ,
i remember i hadd mortal kombat 4 for psx, and i was literally.and i mean LITERALLY skating on it on my floor, and throwing it like a frisbee, the amt of scratches on that when i was finished, lol,
and ten i popped it in, an it played fine...lol

Yeah, I know I just read on here that the ps3 blueray will have the easiest disk to messup. But with all the all 360 is gay ps3 is gay stuff alot of people are lying.

Ok really now, why do you care which is better?? I guess if you havn't bought one yet like me, I'll go with the 360 because of backing up games, and halo 3, but if ps3 games could be backed up I would go with it.

i don't care fore backing up. consoles are legit to me. modchips may come out, but then again in this day in age forced firmware will emilinate alot of them.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

im wondering with all the 360 backup talk and things that developers down the road may actually shy away from the 360 for that very reason? thoughts...

on a side note, i'd actually like to see a firmware update that could reduce or eliminate the ability. i only say that becuase it'd be nice to go the the 360 thread and find some info about the games or console for a change. everything is "what drive do i need, need help asap, stuck during step 2 bla bla bla" kind of annoying...

Oh they made about 3,000,000,000 360 hacking threads lol. Only about 1% of 360 users are ever gonna mess with there system anyway, I don't think its a problem with game devlopers at all. The xbox was hacked but it didn't have problems. I like to back-up my games, and test new ones. 60 dollars is alot of money!

try posting a thread called "petition for segrigated 360 hack talk: sign now!" or something, and have people say they want it.

so this is the most anti-wii article that makes complete sense i have ever read. well, less anti-wii and more showing how it will fail to attract non-gamers like they want.

well thats the stereo type, but a couple of my college friends want the wii....so who knows
i would buy one, but u kno.....its coming out 2 das after th ps3, screw u nintendo
lol
i wonder if ppl are gonna get tired of the wiimote.
because wen the ds first came out i thought it was really stupid,
an i stil do, but the japs eat it up like hotcakes
so i just wonder, since the wii is essentially a game cube with a new controller.

snippets about the ps3 online service.
http://gaming.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=6956

i think the main reason sony is keeping quiet about the ps3's online service is that anything unique they have, their compitition could produce in time to meet the ps3. I could seem like "oh the ps3 has the same things as xbl" because ms would quickly update to counter-act. or, on the downside, the ps3 service could be sh*t right now and all disordered and uncomplete, and that could be why they are silent. who knows.

so i know by now evryones read the psm3 article about them getting a ps3
but heres a little update to that regarding the overheating issue

Quote:
Here's the independent, non-Sony approved truth. We've played a PS3, for a day, in a room, with it on a table in front of us. At no stage did anyone comment about the noise it made (ie, next to none). And a collegue put his hand behind the machine after it had been running for a few hours and felt warm air being quietly and safely extracted via a fan via the vents at the back of the machine.

and the preorders were gone in a mtter of minutes, my WORD, lol, did any one here manage to get one, ?

here is a little bit from ign about today with some pictures. these people camped outside....

Quote:
Many customers camped out overnight for the chance to be one of the first owners of Sony's next-gen system. At most of the stores that IGN visited or contacted the number of people lined up far exceeded the store's allocation. The number of pre-orders available varied from four at a store in Detroit, Michigan to 16 at a store in Seattle, Washington. Several employees we contacted said that they were instructed not to disclose the number of pre-orders they were given.

Some clerks would offer a general number when we pressed for details. One Northern California store claimed "less than 20." When pressed the clerk laughed and admitted "Okay, like, ten less than 20."

An official representative for GameStop Corp. said that each store recieved "no less than eight pre-orders or up to 16. The number allocated is based on store location and traffic." The rep went on to state that currently pre-orders for PS3 were closed.

Most of the clerks said that the pre-orders were specifically for the $599 version with the 60 GB hard drive

i happened to be number 4 at my local gamespot. it opened at 10 and i showed up around 8:40am. obviously there were 3 infront of me already. the earliest person there had been there since 6:30am, the two others came together and had been there since 8. the two friends both preorderd the 20gig while myself and the other guy went for the 60gig. the employee said we should be fine in getting ours on launch, and i am not really worried about it.

dammit, why did this info have to be released when i was tripping? i had no clue about the pre-orders because i was a bit preoccupied, and i noticed the article tuesday afternoon. i'll have to wait for best buy to say something, hell any major retailer.

this is pretty interesting, and shows just whats going on with how consoles sales may go and how current things look to the public eye. but again, its a poll and polls are just the popular vote. the accual thing that matters is fact and fact is a long way away.

Yeah, theres no need to prove, that ps3 and 360 arnt ROCKING consoles. I mean the ps3 is a better console, but the 360 has a few great games.
