regarding the price drop, that's great news for Japan.
And now that the lesser version has HDMI, I'd say that would be a much better deal than the higher priced one anyways. That's like a 200 dollar difference just for 40 more gigs, wifi adapter, and flash card reader.
Oh yeah and the silver trim.
I'd say Sony would sell a lot more consoles in the States if they dropped the lesser version by 50-70 dollars before launch.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

This addition of HDMI to the 20 GIG model is exactly why there is going to be delays. There must be some engineer with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder at Sony. Every couple months there is a new change. Its good though because the only difference in models should be the size of the hard drive and not anything else. I guess they just want THE perfect system at launch to drive XBOX360 into the dirt.

I read somewhere that some 360 games will now be 1080p native.
The PS3 has HDMI, but is there any-way to reach a 1080p resolution without HDMI/DVI??

regardles of what i think about sony or their fanboys, the ps3 has impressed me this tgs show, with ingame vids of ninga gaiden, moterstorm, mgs4 and ressitence.
all these games have great visuals and from what i have seen great gameplay.
i think the game that impressed me most was mosterstorm, b/c it looks very similar to the video they showed e3 2005 (it gives hope to people who still think the killzone 2 trailers was ingame, or can be achieved), ign said that the physics and graphics are both amazing but the game is very slow as if it is playing in slow motion, now either they will do something about that, or maybe its something you have to sacrafice for great graphics and physics.
after seeing ressistence and mgs4 again with new trailers, i have to say (my opinion) i am not that impressed. but they still look like solid games.
ninga gaiden for the ps3, looks pretty good and if the gamplay is similar to the xbox version then it should be an overal great must have game.
i also like three xbox 360 games, which until tgs, i had not really looked at before (project sylpheed, lost oddesy, blue dragon) oh and lost plannets new trailer reconfirms that the game is gonna be great.
ooh and also watch the storyline video for assasins creed.
PS3 specs may look better than xbox 360 but i am yet to see a game on the PS3 that looks better than any of the top end xbox 360 games such as gears of war, mass effect and halo 3.

I'm not too sure but thinking about it, by Sony saying it will have the HDMI means that you can hook it up to a hi-def tv. Your resolution will only be as much as your tv can support.

Ninja Gaiden and Motorstorm look superb. Did anyone see Coded Arms? The LS2 could pull those graphics off with a more stable framerate.
That's not a dig at the PS3 console, but they generally shouldn't have released such a buggy demo.
Look at it and see what I mean...

fair play to sony for dropping the price of the budget ps3, but did they realy have to do that? they should be kicking themselves! the ps3 would have inevitably sold out without the price drop, its just more money that sony are throwing away on each console. I hope they can sell enough games to get that money back.
mgs looked pretty good, but nothing i aint seen before. i personaly wouldnt buy a ps3 soley for that game or any of the others ive seen. ive got an xbox 360 an im still waiting for GoW and Halo3, then blue dragon. I should have waited to buy my 360 but hey, i wont be rushing into the ps3 thats for sure,

just watched the virua fighter 5 demo, the water looks amazing i agree, its just a shame that they spend all that time coding the water and getting it to behave realisticaly but it doesnt appear to saok the characters, lol.
i read somewhere that the was 80%premium ps3 systems in the u.s compared to 20% budget, if the u.s get the price cut aswell its not gonna benefit many. do you think theyve got that much of a split in the amount of premium and budget systems in japan. does any1 know?

ooh two more vids from moterstorm on ign, but these are not in hd and they are off screen like most vids posted on ign, so when you play the game on your consoles with hd tv's they will look better, well anyways i am going to get back to ign, lol. moterstorm may just make me want to go out and buy the ps3.

i think there is a psychological approach to that. if they waited till after its release i am sure there would be plenty more people going out and buying one, but doing that at the launch just brings back w/e hype they may lost. it makes people want to wait for it who may have been on the edge between the either a 360 or ps3. lets face it, the system looks pretty damn impressive based off of the vids and information coming from TGS.

according to this, the price drop will be for japan only....things could change as i don't think hardly anyone saw this coming. there was wishful thinking, but this was surprising

guess we have to take the good with the bad. warhawk will not release till summer of 2007. not a huge deal, but i was looking forward to this game and testing out the controller and features.

well, i thought the game looked great, and i too also liked the gameplay such as the oil drum part, but i still think the graphics are not as good as the trailer they showed, i dunno how to explain it, but the trailer from e3 just looked slightly better. i even think moterstorm looks better.
PS3 specs may look better than xbox 360 but i am yet to see a game on the PS3 that looks better than any of the top end xbox 360 games such as gears of war, mass effect and halo 3.
