as far as your shader things, i see you havnt looked into it either . this is an example of how the rsx does less with more. your prolly all "omg 24 is less than 48 plus its unified so its better." unified wont solve much, it just means things can sometime appear odd if it loads wrong or slow. now look here, the 48 pipes on the 360 run at 2 clocks per cycle, equiling out at 96 total clocks per cycle. the ps3 has 24 pipes, running at 5.8 cpc, for a total of 139.2 cpc. even w/o unified architecture, it has more clocks, so if anything gets held up its onto the next pipe. plus, the clock speeds for all of this is higher, bringing the rsx to even more of an advantage.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

we are going to dissagree nomatter what, again its only opinions and opinions based on what people have said. when the ps3 comes out and we get to see things side by side then and only then will we be able to tell. One thing though, that guy who worked for sony who got sacked for saying the 360 could do more, interesting, maybe? in sony's defence though it doesnt seem that they have got the final dev kits out to everyone at that point. im still not sold on ps3 though but ive just sold my ps2 whilst i still can get a decent price for it.

ill prolly keep it for old times sake, retro is always fun. my friend wants to buy it tho, and i dunno if i wanna part with it if i have to wait till november to play my games again. oh well i have my pc and the torrent system at my disposel.

my mate split up with his girlfriend cos she called the cops on him. anyhow he had to get his own place and he doent have to much to do. so i offered to sell it to him with like 20 games or something like that.good deal. he bought black for it and i went and had a blast. wow shame that the current gen is just ending cos we starting to see stuff now. black is amazing. ive got a 360 and like every other generation il prob end up getting all the consoles anyway.

well that was a fun arguement to read, i see anubis is going back to normall self, j/k.
i think people should stop comparing them so much and just see them as two high tech pieces of next gen console. i plan to get both, but as i have seen many of the future games for the xbox 360 (which look awesome in graphics and gameplay) and none from ps3 except that one i sent a link of a few days ago, it seems i favoure the xbox 360 at the momment, but i am really looking forward to this years e3. also look forward to hearing some stuff on the rev.

Well Finaly some information has come out on the PS3 so now we can start talking again.
Iam no I am a bit late with this but this is becuase my time frame is different becuase I live in Australia, but PS3 will be released in the same kind of way one as the Xbox 360 with a world wide release on Novemeber. One year after the Xbox 360.
Also some new light on Sony's online service and some information on how a hard drive will be somthing of importance to te PS3, but no mention of if one will be packaged with the PS3.
I havent had time to read your posts yet but as soon as I have the time I will.

i have to say that everything sony said is sounding great and seems like ps3 will be a good console, but all this about linex, and other things, must be affecting the price, and thats why i think they did not mention it, as it would bring down the hype. but then agan, M$ did not come out with the price till around XO5.

i am sorry but i had to answer this.
In this post and your following posts you talk about 360s graphical capabilities. But my question is this, and someone has yet to answer it, So I will ask yet again.
Its a fact that the Xbox was a system with superior graphic capabilities. This didn't lead to it dominating the ps2. If 360 is better than ps3. What makes you think this would make a difference?
You said the reason xbox didn't sell as much is cause they didn't have it available. That's not our fault they didn't have more ready. My questions to you is, if they didn't, why did they bluff? Why would they say that they will sell 3 mil and sell 700 thousand?
I will admit you have the point about ps2 selling more cause its the cheaper system, but when ps3 comes out 360 will be cheaper. Ill bet you that this wont deter ps3 from selling at a faster rate.
You guys are incorrect about them launching in japan before launching in the us, They are planning a simultaneous for both. They need both and do not need neither over the other.
buncell i respect that you actually tried to argue some of the points i brought up instead of just bringing up opinions however you still didn't answer a lot of my major points.
But you still doing what everyone else does which is just talk about graphical power.

i actually think they are very similar in capabilities wise and that they have their own features in which they excel the most. for all i know ps3 might have killzone graphics but after seeing this http://www.gaming-360.com/?p=708
i would have to say xbox games look better, but that does not mean it will do better, but the reason for me siding the xbox 360 is b/c i like the games, for what they are, and thats all they really are as the graphics are not very good at the momment. i have always liked the xbox games more than ps2 games, and by what i have seen in trailers and previews i think i will like the xbox 360 games more than ps3, but that is just an asumpsion (however you spell it)as the ps3 games have not been looked into yet.

Very true, well said. Rabbity I too like the 360 because of those reasons. Also it appears I have been right on everything so far with regards to 360 and PS3. I have opened a thread on the online PS3 VS LIVE. People like anubis where saying how LIVE wasnt great esspesialy when you have to pay for it. Well its now apparent Sony have copied LIVE and charging people for it exactly the same as Microsoft. People said nothing was going to be told on the 15th but I said there would be and there was.
I think PS3 will win in terms of sales but 360 will be very close behind.

they have not copied anything, they are building up from the goround. its like saying "oh im breathing and so are you, so i guess im copying you." bad ref but u get what im saying. they will offer basic online for free, such as just gaming. but all the movies and music and all thats will cost more, and to have the full features will too.

hot news ,im going to get ps3 this x-mas ,so i still have tons of oncoming ps2 games i wanna play ,no need for another system right now.

unfortunatly, you may be incorrect the delays definitly don't = better price. While that would be nice it probably wont be reality.
What the delay will really equal is
Higher anticipation
Finalized System
Finalized Launch Game list
The possibility of a few more games added to the launch list
and a finalized price (lol)
You have made a great point tho eventhough you may have not realized it.
MS has reduced Xbox Production (game and system) across the board drastically. But to compound that there are scattered games coming out for 360 but not any sort of bulk of games to provide their owners with more new excitement. Where Ps2 is still going relatively strong which is another reason that ps2 is excelling. In a report, ps2 is not planning til slowdown ps2 production til mid 2007, 6 months approx after ps3 release.
Sony did the smarter marketing there.

I am sorry anubis but the concept of Xbox LIVE has been copied by Sony. I dont blame them becuase its a good idea.
To put it into context where you might understand better what I am trying to say, imagine the analog joystick of the N64 an idea created by nintendo but reproduced slightly differently with the PS controler but still the same concept. THe same applies to thier online service.
One last thing I havent hear or read anything on Sony's online srvice being free for online gaming. Infact I havent heard much on thier online service except they will have a bisic free version and the same content a Xbox LIVE. Please can I have the official word in writing from Sony that PS3 will have free online play. Thanks anubis

Umm who doesn't copy off of someone else in todays world?
Concepts of accessories, consoles, and games are all original innovation that go through the stages of progression with other companies.
It sounds a bit childish to say X copied Y. Cause then You would have to note the fact that Xbox came out with a console after sony, sony obviously wasnt the furst to release a console and blah blah blah blah. So come on

Forget what I said back there anubis I just found the official word that PS3 will have free online play. This is very good however it brings up the question of what will Sony charge people for to keep thier online service running?

youll have to pay for extra content, but the games u get at the store will have free play. im thinking there is a subcription service where when u download games, music, videos, etc. online, they will charge you for that.

ok lots of things to answer here.
mudearies - you said the delay meant better games, well i would have thought so too, but sony have announced that they will delay the beta kits for the games from jan to jun, so developers will have less time to do whatever developers do, which is kinda what happened to the xbox 360 launch games.
ok anubis, i know ps3 online will have some new features, but zelda is responding to your earlier response that sony is not copying M$ at all. which is obviously wrong as they deffinatly are, but also like Joeva said everybody is copying everybody, that how it works i supose.
this also means that each games company will have its own server in which you will join unlike xbox live, which i supose is not too much different as each can have their own problems.
also about the pricing for the ps3 online, although sony will not charge you, other companies like ubisoft and EA (just some examples) will be able to charge you anything they want, like on pc for games like eve.
