rev will never look bettr than xbox 360, well ok maybe now of all times but ater 2006 both ps3 and rev will be behind.

Yea, a lot of the "first" Blu-ray dvd players are being sold for $800-$900. So that is at least $200-$300 dollar loss just for the Blu-ray player

yeh i saw the prices at best buy and the cheapest Blu-ray price was a grand. Paying extra for the Blu-ray player is pointless, go to bestbuy.com and see that u'll be spending 35 to 40 dollars per movie, all for a high def upgrade on a vidoe game system. peeople can keep standing by that nonsense all they want but if the ps3 is priced nething over 550 ur an idiot for getting it.remmeber the extra cost is for movie playback not for the gaming side o f it

Then people getting the Ps3 regardless of price will have to live up to paying around 60 or 70 dollars for games. It will be horrible.

I don't give, i'm going to buy this thing even though it cost approx. $4200TTD. Gaming on the PC is going to be much more expensive. I'm somebody who likes to turn all the bells and whistles way up so therefore, I would want to buy the hottest graphics card. Since I can't buy the graphics card and have it bottlenecked by all of my more dated peripherals then i'll have to buy a whole new system (the Dell XPS) which translates to approx. $28000TTD! That's a new car people!

There is no way they are go to sale this console @ 700.00 in US out the gate they will price themself out the console war it will be around 399 or 499 at the most.As for the Blu-ray they had this tech for @ least 5 years so they are not lossing money just the cost it take to build it.

just re-affirming speculation of a 500 dollar price, if not higher.
another thing that caught my eye was that ps3 games will look worse than 360 counterparts? I was fairly certain that ps3 would be better for the first couple years and then the 360 would re-take the graphical advantage with multiple threads and cores being utilized.

my response was in reply to the website that Samuels provided. obviously no one knows how the games will compare until the ps3 is launched, but the website said to expect 360 games to look better so I was writing in response to those accusations.
I wasn't judging. Sheesh.

i am in no way a fan boy of either consoles...i like them both,i have my opinions,but i'm not about to start a flame war over them...
but..sony is starting to lag behind,they are fast running out of time,i'm not entirely saying they have lost their edge,but their marketing ploys have a lot to be desired....
one last comment and opinion on the PS3 why is it starting to look like something microsoft would make....that says something in itself....do you think?

are you for real....did you even read the link??they know how much it cost them $999.00 USD to make...but they can't work out how they are going to market the product to stay competitive with M$
your not stating fact at all most households have both consoles,if you want to be smart about it :).in recent surveys taken XBOX leads narrowly over the PS2 and it seems as though it may happen again with the 360 and the PS3...read the link ....sony have admitted that they will have to sell their PS3 at a loss,but how much of a loss is yet to be determined correctly....

No...you said PS2 and XboX....we all know nintendo WAS the marketing leader,they just for some reason,just can't keep a grasp on the market,why i don't know..
you have a lot to learn my friend,that link i gave you, was straight from sony's mouth as well as other gaming speculators....read properly,theres no marketing ploy in that link,it merely states where PS3 is at the moment,and it's not looking good for sony "speculation"...they have openely admitted a loss already,how much is not known as yet,and quite possibly won't be known until after launch,basically they got caught with their pants down this time by M$...bottom line.if you remember..the PS3 was suppopse to launch before xbox 360...what happened....my assumption is,blu ray technology didn't pan out the way they wanted it....too expensive,now they have to work something out to be able to launch come NOV 1
