my ibook plays ut2004, close combat first to fight, and battlefield 1942 all on medium-high graphics. they games dont look any dif cept halo cuz ms dummed it down since they hate mac. they games come out later only cuz dev's wanna get it out on the bigger market first then work their way around the table. mac are far superior to a pc, its just people need to see this and learn. mac untill osx i hated cuz it was ugly. osx is almost as old as windows xp and look at the diferences. more and more people are switching to macs with osx having 0 viruses, no possibility for spyware unless personally installed for some gay reason, and its very user friendly. thats also what i dislike. i like the fight i put with viruses and spyware, and how you have to be smart to use a pc properly. the reson i had those viruses is because i had a lame antivirus called nod32 that would not delete them.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

great link i had found a similar story but that one goes more indepth to the DVD9 disc space, i dont think the 360 will have any problems.
As the ps3 has the blueray disc, they probably will be a bit sloppy with game files as the dont have to shrink them they can take up as much space as they want, it may mean quicker loading as the files wont be compressed much, but developers may find it quicker to get the games done as they dont have to worry about compressing the files and concentrate on the games. but they have to battle with the usual difficulty writing games for a sony machine as they had with the ps2

You're quoting another forumn post against me. You quoted someone's opinion who spelled college wrong in their post. You can think whatever you want, but whenever you have the chance, ask anyone who is even close to having a CS degree or a college prof in that division. Alright? You just keep that in mind and do that for me.
I just got back from a little trip, and while I was their I had a little round table discussion with my cousin who is the head IT manager and Senoir programmer at Tower in Minneapolis, MN. And beside the fact that Famous Dave's has damn good cornbread, omg, I coudln't believe it. We came to a significant conclusion that the PS3 is as more technically and architectually advanced than 360 as the human brain is to a can of beans.
Now I'm not goign to argue anything, byt I want everyone to keep this in mind when PS3 comes out and we start playing it and using it. Then we'll all reconvine here at AD and take a look at what's different and how.

My advice: Wait for PS3.

yeah. you used to be on my not so good sidew put you are coming out with really goods points.
also, to those disk space ppl.. they used stats from xbox1 to figure out space on 360. that will lead to a wrong answer. look at the size of the average playstation 1 games, and the average of a ps2 game. about 500megs to 3 gigs. that is a l a r g e increase. so u cannt use old xbox incease stats to predict the 360's game sife over life. the first ps2 games fit on cd's but eventually got up to close to half a dvd. the 360 games are starting out close to the old sizes but even bigger, and you honestly think they would overgrow at all?

true but then look at doom 3 its 2.957G and terminator rise of machines is 5.67G now you tell me which is better, it depends on the devoper and by what i can see if the game has to fit on one cd than the developer just has to put more time into it but not take anything out or make longer loading times. oh and also i wanted to show you this link its about the doom developers outtake on ps3 vs xbox 360.

nuff said it looks pretty clear that the 360 should be fine with disc space. If there ends up being a little short of space, they could offer free downloads of levels to your hard drive. they have released levels for splinter cell and two extra tracks and 14 extra cars for pgr2 hardly taking up any space on my xbox. it has about 40 game saves and the levels, cars etc and still it says 50,000+ blocks left.
and the 360 has a 20gb hard drive over double the original xbox and as its removable it will have larger 40gb, 60gb, 80gb if needed.

Well said HOWJORD and fazyninja.
This is what I have been trying to get through anubis's head but he seems to live in a state of denial.
The PS3's Blue ray is obvously better than the DVD9 format on the 360 but games will take up no more than 2 discs plus you have your harddrive. A negative on the PS3 is also the cost of the disc's but after about 2 years and with the PS3 selling well I can see this cost falling some what, but as I said it will be a couple of years before this happens.
Also I buy games for how good they are and not how many discs they use which is why I like Baulders gate regardless of the fact it's on five discs.

Another good point that he had brought out was that the 20GB HDDs on the 360 are very close to a hgih amount of heat. We don't know the Cp of the insulating material between the HDD and the heat heat sinks/fans, but it's very agreed upon that alot of people will see HDD failure the more they use the 360. (I think it was already an issue at launch!!)
Hard drives are alarmingly suceptable to heat and I'm placin gbets that an add on/more expensive/bigger drive will be a bad investment if they don't use a different stronger insulation method. But it will be a very good investment if they do prove that the HDD and your data is better protected in the next ones.
Id games is strongly tied to Microsoft and is inflating the developement difference more than it's worth. What he's basically saying is - "We'd rather sit on our lazy asses and make sub-par looking games than have to work 10% more to make a game outstanding, beautiful, and intuative. We get the same amount of money either way."

are you just plucking at straws now, have you got anything nice to say about the 360, anything you like about it.
If the ps3 had came out first everyone would have benn slagging that off but as it is the 360 is the only one out so all you PS3 fanboys just keep on slagging it off.
Give it a chance theres some bloody good games coming out for it.

haven't seen anything new for ps3 just trailers at www.gametrailers.com
but none are realtime i think
nothing new on any sony site, dont know what they are playing at.
they are probably doing heavy testing so that there will be not heat problems, errors, low shipments etc. if they dont release it soon the nintendo revolution will be out before it at this rate.

Changing the orientation of the console woudln't make a significant difference with the amount of heat we're delaing with.
HOWJORD, you do nothing but bitch about people who pick on the 360. You are the only fanboy I can really see so far. If you have nothing but whining to do, go to your mommy.

well reasons you do have a problem with the over heating thing, whihc is apparantly not effecting every single xbox 360 and the next wave of xbox 360's will probably not have any of these bugs.

The overheating is a big problem, it excessively limitates the flexibility of the Xbox 360's location. It's a flaw that was ignored for the launch date, and make sit impossible fo rme to put the Xbox 360 in my wall installed wood/glass A/V rack. It's a little tighter in their than the 360 will breathe with and that's so it looks damn good and fits the rest of the house. So now I have a huge ass power supply and and console sitting on an end-table. I you are too dumb to interpet - I DO have a huge problem with Microsoft being a bunch of stupid greedy a$$holes. What am I susposed to buy another HD TV for it rather than integrate it into my home theatre with the $5000 TV?? You are a ~fanboy~ who is in defense of the console even when wrong, that is the absolute basic definition.
Microsoft won't lose the lawsuit, but it proves how greedy they were to rush the sh*t box for Nov.
I dont' car eif they fix it, because they put the screws to someone who supported an unholy amount by buying two of them on launch day. Dude, I love Xbox, or did, I'm not a Sony fan or anything, I'm just realistic and very pissed.
And my HDD will go out in only a few years as well, hallejulah, I can throw it out and pay $100 for a new one. You are a hopeful and dont' know anything about this field, I am realistic and know more about this box than I would like to.

I thought you meant "you do have a problem with it" differently, as in of course I have a problem with it, it's not fine, and I shoudl be able to have a problem with it. You see?
It runs fine in the air, my poin ti sthat overall design generates way more heat than it should, and that's somehting they can't fix when you send it in. Only ~3% according to MS suffer from overheating under "normal" conditions, but those parameters are not reasonable, considering a highly overclock AMD dual core fits in A/V set-ups just like mine and vents perfectly.
You should be able to set you Xbox in an A/V on top of another box with 4" behind and above it for hot air to move through, but no matter hwo pristine your 360 is, they all won't do it.
Quick question - If I am a stupid f*ck, what does that make someone who tells me to listen when I can cleary only read what he/she is saying?

I think you could probably do with one of those liquid coolers, you are getting a tad heated about microsoft and the 360. chill out man!
i'm not saying i'm a fanboy, i'm saying that all you have to say is how bad microsoft and the 360 is, you have nothing nice to say do you?? discuss something other than what is bad, say something you think is a good idea.
