yeah the potential for the ps3 is unmatched by 360 once the graphical power or the perpetual tit of the ps3 has been sucked dry and used over and over again people will unlock the greatest graphix ever in 3 years

holy crudaculous anubis, u made me think of a REAL good thing for the 360.
im not dissing xbox (thought i hate them :P ) but im poping up a hypothetical situation ^_^ . what will the xbox after the 360 be called? also a good thing to say about xbox and its next generation gaming... microsoft has named it quite bad. think about it, what happens when you do a 360 degree turn? u get back to where u started from, correct (if u think incorrect, go back to school -_-' )? that can be said about xbox's next gen console... it did a 360 XD . anywayz, enuff bout that.

i dont think there will be a point where CG will be as good as real, IMO. but its getting hella close to the real thing. technology can get to a certain point. the only thing computers cant simulate in relation to humans is emotions.
but i dont like getting off topic, but i dont know where the last thread to do with the thread is XD

I disagree with you're thoughts on AI Anubis.
I dont think we can bridge the gap between us and our created AI because programs have NO emotion, NO pity, NO morals, only logic.
People react differently depending on how they grew up, feelings for others around them, there morals, there environment etc.
Neither software, or metal parts can recreate 'real' life. Maybe eventually imitate it very well, but never truly have it.
(and if they ever do, dont tell me cos ill be sh*ttin myself from then on LOL)

i just didnt have the language support to explain that, but thats SOO tru. computers know logic very well. they may be able to simulate people well, but each person is different. but to save myself from grief, ill stop talking about it, cauz i didnt really study up on biology :P

well, like someone else already said (but im going to reword it :P): we can biotch and bicker about it, but we cant really compare them until ps3 comes out. THEN we can ^_^ . but for now, lets:
1. see if we can sorta stay on topic XD
2. say how good ps3 is, though it hasnt come out yet :P
there ARE things that are confirmed that is going to be released on ps3, so we can talk about that. or u guys can talk more bout AI ^_^

emotion and pity are just logic aswell. they come from a certain part of your brain the knows that to do when it recognozies anything from someone or something. if a robot has a camera, it can analyze your facial expression to know how u are feeling and then it can decide what actions it will do or say. if it has trouble reading someone, it can ask. emotions are nothing of a bridge, they can be easily done with lots and lots of time and coding. it is all possible.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Emotion is a spontaneous feeling. it isn't created through conscious effort and is usually accompanied by physiological changes. Therefore, years of coding couldn't 'create' this, only 'simulate' it.

at the moment ai in games is all random. charectors in games done think atall for them self they juts make random moves. these moves are affected upon the knolage that the ai 'bot' knows.
e.g the bot randomly turns right and then from its knolage it relizes that an enemy is in front of him, he will randomly shoot at the enemy.

what the difference in this case between create and simulate? wegottobetheway we are over many many millions of years. thru all that, only what worked survived, and anyone with apart of them conflicting their habitat died off. we developed this was because its what worked best. if you sat and coded all yourlife, and a 100 more doing that. im sure you could spit out an ai programthat would blow your mind. what more are we than they? just different composistion and the way we work.

im just saying i know were ages from making the bots think for themself (if ever) but if we could update this ai and make it a bit more advanced.
e.g in irobot they mensioned that groups id data like the robots would group together, this happens in games aswell. take pdz if you have bots on the bots are always next to each other.

If u think about it borgs will probably never exist cuz we have no need for them. AI might be advanced in the future but probably for calculation purposes or something but emotional AI is useless. Example would be the movie I Robot... no way in the future robots will do all of our work. Its probably too expensive to mass produce and it will take away jobs for people. Not trying to be mean but its the truth when i say stupid ppl will work for McDonalds while smart ppl who work hard will have good jobs and make good money. If bots take over the labor jobs then where will drop outs work??? Its all about balance.
