how doess the 360 make that much profit? the console itself cost more to make than to sell.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

no he means the xbox 360 cost more to make then M4 sold it for, so how could it make any kind of profit, infact it did the exact opposite, i think. they sell it for a loss, then use games and features like controllers and xbox live to mka eback the profit.

but they are still well in the hole. the last xbox reported a total of $4billion usd in loss..and to think ppl are all "omg omg sony spent a billion on the cell for ps3" but the cell can be used anywhere in anything, and is in many things now, so that cash is easily made. the hole ms is in with xbox is astounding, and ms fanboys flame sony for spending a billion not even on the ps3 alone.

i also agree japan is full of nintendo fanboys. nintendo products sell more in japan then europe and USA.
but japan is the most important market of the 3 ,and thats what i would think so since everytime i go to a webside all they should is nothing but japan sales.
never i see USA or europe sales.

sony has already lost a billion to the ps3 and it hasnt shipped.Now add the fact that they will be selling the console at about a $300 loss per console it doesnt seem like they will be in tip top shape.Sonys number one customer region(japan) isnt too keen on the ps3 either with over 80% of people saying tis to expensive and saying they prefer the wii over it.

the psp's 1st year made alot of cash for sony and all the idiots online saying the psp cost like 600$ to make and sony is not going to make any profit until 2008 ect.
im sure the ps3 will make alot of money for sony the 1st year thanks to all the games and Blu-ray movies its going to be selling.
also the ps2 its still selling like freaking hot cakes. sony now makes a profit from any ps2 sold and games sold for it too.

mmm i wonder what could that be ??? the CELL ofocurse which is going to be used in many things in the future not just the ps3. including his highly popular sony ericson cell phones and top lcd sellers the bravia line.

Sony was not alone in developing the CELL. The STI alliance composed of Sony, Toshiba and IBM jointly developed the CELL with a four-year operating budget (2001-2005) in the neighborhood of 400 million USD. The CELL processor had already been developed at least 6 months prior to the release of the quarterly earnings report that I linked to.
anubis: I'm still waiting for an answer to where you got those figures. I have both MS and SONY in my portfolio so I am very interested in where you got that figure of 4 billion USD in losses.

Well when it comes to Graphics, nVidia made the PS3 cards and ATI made XBOX 360's....so all questions on better graphics should be answered there. Also I bet you that if PS3 would have launched in the same month as the 360, it would have far less sales than it currently does. Furthermore I do see the PS3 regarless of the price winning the console war, but never count Nintendo out!!!!

i think the wii will make the most money if its popular. but ppl see all these new high def games and want them, even the casual game wants the eyecandy. the wii just wont be able to deliver. it looks in graphics not much better than xbox1. people like progression.

the wiis graphix r very bad, and it will be hard to make multiplatformers due to the controller graphix and disks, not to mention to play dvds u need an external attachment. like the hddvd player for the x360.

ahaha guys read this. peter more says "people dont care about backwards compatability" and they may halt it. lots more interesting stuff too. 360 sales are dropping some.

the wee-wee is not even a factor in the console war. xbox 360 sells real bad in japan and can barely keep up with the ps2 world wide sales, once the big borther ps3 arrives it will destroy the competition.
