I've done the natcheck on http://btfaq.com/natcheck.pl but failed it miserably although my Azureus is able to download. At a speed of 2-5kb/s though. The natcheck gives me this error. Remember I've port forwarded 6881 for Azureus and Azureus is downloading fine, just really slow.
Unable to connect. This likely means you need to adjust your port forwarding configuration, or there is no client running on that port.

Jmour, when you say you port forwarded 6881, did you set up a static ip first, meaning you assigned a 192.168.XXX.XXX ip to your computer (not letting the router assign it) first, because if you didnt, then your probably using whats called port triggering, which is more secure then port forwarding by only opening the port when needed, but doesnt actually forward the port, which causes problems with any torrent program i.e. slow speeds.

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if the problem with my speed is because of seeds,I get around 5-10 kbs, I use ABC , on ports min 10000 and max 60000, so I forwarded ports to 6881-6889, and 6969, also obviously 10000 to 60000.
I have Window's xp firewall, and I put ports 6881 to 6889 and 10000 which took awhile. Anyways when im using ABC the status is working and green so thats good. But the seeds is like 9(?), so is that the problem? Im I doing this right?
Well thanks

Yes Pahat your problem is probably the amount of seeders and leechers, assuming you know your internet speed and have checked that to make sure it is fine, try to find a torrent with 20-50 seeders, and 100-200+ leechers, and you may want to try differnt torrent programs.

hey guys ive got 512/128, & dl speed hangs around 5kbs/ usually even with 20 seeds.
Im not sure how 2 change my router firewall settings, the setup is wierd. It sez somthing about public & public ports in the port forwarding section, & can only have 20 id's for them. i tried opening ports mnually 1by 1, but could only set 20 ports. i got up 2 6888 with both UDP & TCP, & same port no. 4 both public & private. No effect at all. i use netcomm NB1300, modem/router an australian model.

yeah how do you set up a static ip. and yes i checked portfoward and all the sites im just a little confused because last time i did it my comp and my whole network got messed up and i couldnt access the router because i put the starting ip range 192.168.1.X to 192.168.1.1 which was my routers ip and i kinda screwed it up. I have a wrt54g router by the way. My host does not provide static ip hosting(optimum online) from cablevision.

Hello...
i have been using torrent download clients for many months and i get about 10 kbps download speeds and thought it was normal, however when someone mentioned to me that it is possible to get over 240kbps i was pleasantly surprised. I have a linksys wireless G router and i followed the instructions for port fowarding, but i have not seen any difference in dowload speeds. I have both a NAT firewall and a personal firewall, and i have configured both. Still download speeds stay around 10 kbps. I used a firewall testing software which told me that my tcp port is open...however, i am not able to send or receive udp packets...
HELP PLEASE

Aiight domza8tor, thankyou for your interest. I use internet explorer as my browser and my isp is optimum online. I do not know exactly what my connection speed is, but i think its either 500 or over. (maybe you could tell me how to find out my connection speed for sure). My email address is ruvard@optonline.net, and i would appreciate it if you posted me your email address aswell...
thanks a lot

Hey all.
I have already posted something similar here but this is a good website. If you don't know what to do to open your ports on your router, then here is a website that lists heaps of routers so you just have to find your router, select Azureus (or whatever) as the program you wish to port forward and it will show you details.
There is also a default guide for people that can't find their router.
Good luck, and member to have your Protowall etc going all the time...
Im sure its been mentioned but people just read over it:
http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

Hey everyone
I have just bought a new modem, a Zoom x3 5560A to be precise. I have seen that a few people in this thread have managed to forward ports for the earlier version of this modem, but I dont seem to be able to do it successfully for the A version, I am constantly on a yellow light in Bit Tornado. I have been to Zooms website, and done as they suggest, but the light still stayed yellow. I would be really grateful if anyone could help me to go green!
Thanks

Does anyone know why bittorent dl speed keeps on going down, while the seeds still remain the same. Im using Abc and I always get a green light but my dl speed never goes up to 20 kbs and when it does it drops slowly to 10-5 kbs. I don't even have a firewall and I forwarded the ports so everything should work fine right?
Anyways thanks in advance

Hi
Is it possible for my isp to block me from accessing my speedsteem 5100s firm ware? If it try http:/speedstream or all the other possibilities then I get an error or search page.
