The same crap applies. Use good media. Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R. Some PS2 games have dummy files which contain copy protection, but very few. Burn slightly faster or slower on good media. If that doesn't work rebuild it.

I just bought a new PS2 Slim... seeing that then when you press eject the top opens and you insert a disc in. I just bought the swap magic 3.6, and it not working with my backup disc when i open and take the swap out in put my backup in it. Can i even use the swap magic disc with my new system?

anth0ny24, you will need either the magic keys or magic SWITCH for a slimline. If you want to use BreakerPro, u will need the same. Look here: http://www.console.com/product_ps2_pstwofix.php You can also use the tape & tissue mod (let me look for the link) but using the magic ***** above will be more permanent. You don't even have to open your system. :)

Ant. if you have swap magic 3.6 and you have installed the modified flip top you do not eject the lid open but you open the inside flap or door and put in your backup disc and push X on your controller.

I suggest we ignore these kind of messages. When they read the thread & realize what they asking about can't be done...maybe they will just go away.

The only way to boot a backup of any those items would be with an original copy or a modchip. If you have neither of those, it's a waste a time. A little bit of searching would've told you that.

i have the stuff, but they don´t work!
i have a brand new PS2 Slim (750004), i've a HDD 200 Gig, wich i formatted with either winiip and ul_format: neither one worked!
I tried with all of the disc and the disc partitioned: neither! i tried with a old V.9 PS2: no can do!
I'm trying to load from a non modded PS2, just with SM 3.6 + USB Advance! I did all the procedures described in one the forums!
Always hangs up in the Swap Magic 3.6 Menu (before the load program message).
Why Can´t i make the dam thing to work? Did someone manage to put a 750004 (witch i think is also called V.14, right?) to load from HDD with SM 3.6 + USBAdvance.

61. Q. Can I play PS2 games on my PC with an emulator?
A. Yes: http://ngemu.com/ps2/index.php Hold on there speedy. First you'd need to find the PS2 bios via Google. Then you'd have to configure the plugins to get your games to load. There in lies the problem. There is little support and even less functionality for PS2 emulators. Most only load demos, and freeze when attempting to load a whole iso. In short, not worth it unless you're really desperate.

Since Tokijin is busting his @$$ answering the same questions over, and over, again...look over here n00bs: http://www.swapmagicfix.com It will answer many of your questions. (None that have to do with "why do I exist?" but that's your prob answering ;)

Thanks for the replys!!! The game I was trying was Gran Turismo 4. I think it may be on the list somewhere on Tokijin message. So, if i use a dual layer DVD will it work on my ps2??

Yeah Gran Turismo 4 is a Dual Layer game. I just burned it yesterday. You have to rebuild it DVD-5 to use with Swap Magic. The only way to make a straight burn of GT4 is to have a modchip that supports DVD-9 games like the DMS 4 or Matrix Infinity. I tried shrinking it to DVD-5. People have done it, but I had a devil of a time. I have a Matrix Infinity, so I just bought a 3 pack of Verbatim DVD+R DL's burned it, and it plays perfectly. If you need to shrink it to DVD-5 or single layer check here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/215155

I finally got my new working Swap Magic disk and I continue to get the message "not a valid PS2 disk" when I try to run backed up games with the flip top. I'm using Sony DVD+R disks in a LG multi DVD CD rewriter and using DVD Decrypter. I've followed the directions for using DVD Decrypter, MODE>ISO>READ, then MODE>ISO>WRITE at the slowest speed for the writer(4X). I've tried both files, the MDS and Image file and it still says that it's an invalid disk. If anyone has any ideas??
I have a PS2 v.5 with a flip top and Swap Magic 3.6.

Try using DVD-R's. At least booktype the DVD+R's.
1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.
2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341 If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, Dynex, Princo, Bulqpaq, etc.
53. Q. What is Booktyping?
A. Booktyping is the ability to burn a DVD+R so it that appears as a pressed DVD-ROM in any DVD-ROM drive it's inserted in. If you booktype DVD+R's, this allows for greater compatibility with most stand alone DVD players, including your PS2. Your burner has to support booktyping (most newer ones do).
Booktyping with Nero and DVD Decrypter: http://www.k-probe.com/bitsetting-booktype-faq.php
