Hi everyone, I am new to Bittorrent, and having a little trouble. I'm currently using the Azureus client, and always have a yellow face under health. I am using two routers, one wireless and one normal ethernet adapter.

The wireless is:

Motorola WR850GP

The ethernet adapter is:

ZyKel Prestige 645MA-A1 ADSL Modem

I have looked up the ip ip adress for the motola wireless adapter, and set everything up correctly reguarding the ports, I think. But, I still get a yellow face. However, downstairs, when I connect onto the other router, and turn the wireless adapter off, I get a green face. How can I configure the wireless router to do the same thing? Maybe I entered the information for the ports wrong? Does anyone else have this router, and how did you configure it?

k PEOPLE you are not listing to me!!! if you have ROGERS or SHAW INTERNET you WILL NOT be able to download torrents with a fast speed
shaw and rogers block azerus from downloading fast because they want to be the GOOD PEOPLE and be like "oh we will help stop people from downloading so we will make it so they download very slow" and ya

i just switched from telus to shaw cause telus can go lick my nuts.
telus is the crappiest company i've ever dealt with.

and i'm using bitlord, not azereus but that probably doesn't matter
oh well, if my speeds don't increase then i'll be downgrading my shaw from extreme to just high speed.

Hiii I am a new member to this Forum but i read the first message about the blocked ports and how to open it...
i followed all the steps...

1. The Gateway number is 10.0.0.138 and i typed it in the browser and entered the page of the router
(B-FOCuS Router 312+ ECI -- Firewall Router ADSL)
and the username/password -> Admin/Admin

2. And i went to Advanced -> Port Forwarding, and when i tried to move the blocked ports to the allowed list it told me: Error: Error found on page!
So i tried to make a new rule called "torrent" and the ports:
start port: 6881 end port: 6889

but it told me again: "Error : Error found...."

Here's the picture of my page when it told me about the error

The second day i tried many times again to allow these ports but uselessly... :S

plz help me, this is the last step to allow the blocked ports....

thanking you in advance

As for Rogers / Shaw - they are throttling the bandwidth for all BitTorrents, doesn't matter what client you are using, not just Azereus. Bastards!!!

I did port forwarding on both and turned off my windows firewall. I have Cox Cable internet and dont know why im still getting 20-25 kbs on my downloads. I ran the connection wizard in Azureus my line is Cable/xxx/324 kbs. I am using Azureus 2.3.0.6. Please help me.

Well, I dont know if this will help in the discussion - (by the way, please say more about ISP blocking ports, mine might be doing it but they would not do it on purpose, just by mistake, so how to test?) - but I have been fiddling with azuereus for days now and also my ISP has been tinkering with my dish and whatnot, and here is the best I can get:

Note that I have the upload speed throttled to 5k. I MUST DO THIS! If global transfer settings are Unlimited/unlimited then performance is crap. I also must find the "sweet spot" as far as limiting download speeds, in this case it is 25. The number of global upload slots is set to 2 and on each torrent it is also 2, but the individual torrent setting is unlimited/unlimited for up&down. This has been the only way I can get decent speeds, assuming that this is a decent speed for broadband (my nepal ISP says it's pretty darn good, as they expect people to expierence 56K modem speeds, but just not have to have the phone line...this is their QOS expectation. Cheers!

BabyJ7286 where are you located? Who is your ISP?

Herojig, just change the default port that your Torrent client uses. Azereus I believe is 6881, change that to something else, doesn't matter what - 10000 to 50000 range and don't forget to open that port in your firewall too. But if your ISP says your getting good speeds guess thats the best you'll get.

Where I am in Toronto, my ISP is throttling back the bandwith used for BitTorrents, not just specific ports. Any BitTorrent in general! Bastards!!

Hey guys. I have an MSI wireless router, and the model is RG54G3. I have searched high and low for a port forwarding guide for this router, but have yet to come up with anything. I attempted to use the guide for the RG54G2 and RG54GS, but they are not even close to mine. If anybody could help me here, that would be great. By the way, I'm running Rogers internet if that's any help. Thanks.

thanks bud, yes i have the ports forwarded and all and that's all my ISP is going to give me unless, and i just found this out, they have a dedicated IP broadband service with more bandwidth but it's over 130 usd a month. is that what everyone is paying around the globe? i don't think so. so from 9am to 6pm i get something like a combined up/down of 8kb/s but u know they always talk about bits per second to make it sound higher (x8?). At night it triples. i guess this is the consequence of setting up shop in a country where commies/goverment forces still run around with guns shooting civilians. argh...

Was a Bitcomet user had to change over to another client coz bitsoup.org banned bitcomet. So tryed utorrent, Azureus but settled on BitTornado (easiest of the lot to cofigure). Had to go into zonealarm click on the side menu 'firewall' then click on the main tab and just below was Internet zone security, click on custom which brings up a new window, click on Internet Zone then scroll down to 'allow udp ports' type something like 50400,50410 then scroll down to 'allow tcp ports' type the exact same 50400,50410 and thats your firewall configured. Then you need that address or url you were given when you installed your broadband mine was esat.net or iolbb so I had to type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar(thats the long rectangle box at the top of your browser or at the bottom hehe) obviouly you need your password. By default for the ZyXEL Prestige 600 series that is username: Admin and Password: 1234 and as I remember the Cayman is a similar setup cept you type 192.168.1.254 in your address bar youll probably have been given a similar password or not hehe! Once in the Nat configuation screen click on 'Nat' only sua should have a dot in front of it and if it does click edit then enter the same ports as above 50400,50410 (or you can chose you own but over the 50000 range).
Nearly finished now start you bittorrent client and change the ports it suggests to you to the same as above. Finally find a torrent site to download /upload your favorite...stuff. Works a treat and you will get excellent download speeds depending on your connections(no offence but forget it if your still stuck with dialup. Took me bloody hours to google, yahoo and forum browse all this just to download but finally there is a god. Hope this helps someone!

Carefull when sliding down the banister a life
May them splinters point the rite way
