You can try what I just did a few days ago... I just popped in Config 1.2 disc and turned override on again and reset console.. worked again...
Make sure you have the 1.9s update as well.. apart from that, that's all I got.. rafadawn is very knowledgeable in this area..
Originally posted by Damide: I have gone through the 56 page thread here, have a similar problem as many with burns not working anymore. The difference with my problem is that I had my young cousin over who brought his legit smash bro's for Wii, put it in, updated my system with the game and the internet update. I have tried the 1.9b recovery disk option many times with fail. I even went out and purchased brand new Verbatim DVD-R (used ImgBurn at 4x).
I had the chip installed by a guy here locally (does them for many in Chi-town), so I assume my possible next step is open it up and remove the battery for a while? Is getting a new Wiikey an option if nothing else works? Normal game discs still work just fine... Any advice is much appreciated - been on this for a week before making a post.
Thanks

If you got your wii modded and you know for sure it has 1.9g? Then, YES.. Galaxy will work off the bat, but I would suggest 1.9s update as this is a solid update. Once that is done, then load config 1.4 and configure approapriately. If you get a similar problem to myself where the games would load but the drive would have a hard time reading the discs, whether original or not, I suggest burning a copy of Config 1.2 in your region and turning the region override on and reset the console..
hope it goes well.

Err crap. When I tried to update to 1.9s, I got this message
"Error: Tst failed! Check your connections and try again"
What does this mean? Is my wiikey messed up? Did anyone else have this problem?

Either summat wrong with wiikey install or it's a clone and can't be flashed. Either way I think you're gonna have to open the box to see what's what and if it's a clone it means swapping it for a genuine. I seen this a few places.

I think that's 3.0(U or E) so 3.1J should unbrick - SSBB JAP or the forthcoming MARIO KART JAP (posssibly 3.2J when it comes).

I dont think the 1.9s config (US) works, the ISO seems to be corrupt. PAL and JP are fine, but US one doesnt load at all.

I semi-bricked my European PAL Wii with SSBB NTSC(U) version. I think the version of my Wii is currently 3.1U (not sure, it might be 3.2U, I cannot check, because settings don't work). So I am asking you if PAL Mario Kart will remove the semi brick, I think that Mario Kart has 3.2E patch with it.
Thanks for your help.

You will be at 3.1U so yeah Mario Kart should unbrick to 3.2E.

Hi, I'm new to this as I seen in many other posts. I just wanted to run my situation by someone who is way more experienced with moded wii's.
I had my wii moded with a wiikey. I think its safe to say that that the mod is working because it has been reading the config disks and the 1.9b update. Would you say?
Here is my environment for my wii
Wii firmware is 3.2 and I have a US wii.I have ran 1.2 config disk, and changed the setting for reg. free and x3 for the rom.
I place the SMG into my wii, and I get a the error saying its not the org. disk. This screen is not a wii type error message. Its colored as the same color scheme as SMG, so I take it that its still getting blocked, and I will have to update.
I have seen in other posts the 1.9g and 1.9s is out, but I might be better off trying to run these updates again. In the past I did run 1.9b(which is really old I guess), then placed the SMG disk into my wii, I never got an update screen.
My two questions are
Would you say that my wii mod is ok?
Which update would you suggest, 1.9g or 1.9s?
Would it be best to also run config disk 1.4?
Sorry for the long post.

I will update to 1.9s eventually. For that I will have to install the 1.9s update from 1.9g. Then configure the firmare using 1.4 in that order. That is what I gathered so far but where does the 1.2 fit in there?
Almost got everything understood. Thx for the awesome help guys

you cant run SMG because you are using 1.9b firmware, upgrade to 1.9g (the "g" is for "GALAXY") or 1.9s (The s is for SMASH)
Your mod is fine
Update to 1.9s
Update to 1.9s
once you are updated, use config 1.4
oh, and Update to 1.9s

Hi, all. I just join the WiiKey world. I have a quick question similar to the question that barnesro posted. The answer might be posted somewhere but I could not find it or might miss it.
I have a wiikey installed on my U3.2 firmware Wii. I have never updated the WiiKey firmware before. I tried to play SMG but got Error#001. Same thing happened when tried to play Super Smash Bro. I realized that I need to update the WiiKey firmware.
I also realized that the latest version v1.9s and config v1.4 were just released. In order to play both games, can I just update the firmware direct to v1.9s if I have never update the wiikey firmware before? Or I should update to v1.9b, from v1.9b to 1.9g then from v1.9g to v1.9s?
Thanks.

go 1.9s
There can be issues trying to update sometimes but until you try you won't know if you get any. This thread contains all relevant info near the beginning.

Hey there, I'm new. I'm just wondering if anyone has burned and tried out the official 1.9s config(US)? Does it lack the SD dump or should previous config versions still be used for SD dumping?
Thanks.

Just updated my US Wii to 3.2U and 1.9s. Previously 3.0 and 1.9g.Before the update I had no problems. After the update a few of my back-ups no longer work. I have run config 1.4 and turned on Region free and DEV. All games are burned on the same Verbatim DVD-R at 2x or 4x. Any ideas? Is 3.2u or 1.9s more picky?

Why did you turn DEV on?
Oh and updates often throw up a few ppl with this problem - could be down to the burner or software that's picked at more, like you assume - I assume you're burning with imgburn? ...media should be fine.

Thanks for the quick reply. I turned DEV on because without it, it wasn't playing my originals. Don't understand why. Seems about half of my back-ups now don't work. They show on the Wii menu, but when I start them, it ends up going back to the Wii menu. No rhyme or reason to which games. Some newer some older.
Any idea why my originals wouldn't play until I turned DEV on?
