I believe that is the method Zearic is trying to do, but he needed a copy to burn to DVD as he can't play CD's on his PS2 and his PS2 is modded.

aight, so I've dl'd ARMAX-EVO but when I load it it says that an internet connection is detected, which is impossible as it's not connected nor do I have a network config save on my MC. I asks me if I'd like to connect to check for updates, offers me the choice of yes or no, but does not give me a cursor to make the choice. No manner of button pressing can advance the screen, what do I do here?

Thnx,
RVNR

The internet connection is just configured already in the software in case some want to update.

When it comes up to that screen for me it is already on NO and I jsut press X.

It then just goes away and your in AR MAX EVO.
So not sure why it is different for you. Other than that I just use directional pad to move around.

Ok, got it, it seems that it wasn't loading all of the graphics and just chose that place to freeze up, seems to do it at random, but if I just keep restarting it it eventually loads up. Thanks for the help guys, this is one of the few truly helpful threads out there.

rite ill help u best i can now i ave this sorted for myself.

no u cannot use a unmodded ps2 to play a copy/backup of AR
if you have swap magic then yes you can
and if u got none of the above and only want the ar just buy the real thing as it will end up being cheaper than swap magic or a mod chip i got my AR Max for £12.99 which is several pounds cheaper than swap magic even thou i got the chip but i was having probs with it working so i brought real thing and works fine

Includes SMS media player.

hi,

I'm facing a lil bit problem here, hope you guys can help me out.

I have a PS2, which is a SCPH-39002 and a serial number of a0879548... i don't know which version my PS2 is... so,
I don't have any problems running backup games, its just that... i wasted 5 CD-R's trying to burn PS2 Reality Media Player, uLaunchELF and HDLOADER... I used DVD Decrypter, Alcohol 120% and CDRWin buring them on 1x to 4x... none of the CD's worked... My PS2 says DISC READ ERROR at the memory card screen... i don't understand what to do or how to do it... please help me out here.

You have a V7 PS2.

The ulaunch elf I use is global edition, instructions are there, from my folder here the password is: windrider
It has all what you need on it and will burn to cd.

Hey... I can't download anything from your rapidshare account... i waited 2 mins (refreshed)... still nothing... by the way, I have uLaunchELF, PS2 Reality media player, SMS Media player, HDLoader... the question is... how do I burn them? as you can see above I mentioned... I burned them on (Imation and Sony)CD-R's... but the PS2 doesn't read them... is there any detailed tutorial on how to do this?

What I really wanna do is... watch DivX movies on my PS2... that's all... get the idea? i heard from a friend that its possible to watch DivX movies on PS2, since I've been trying to do so...

I'd be much greatful if anyone told me the right way to do this..

...
I have a Gameshark 2 v4 disc... but it doesn't seem to work on Backup games... is it the gameshark or something wrong with the games?

PS: it works fine on original games.

There are some tutorials here:

http://www.sksapps.com/sms/en/

just scroll down to 3.3 if you want to play them off a cd

Or here: how to boot an elf on a cd: http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=bootelf.html

Under hd apps click on boot an elf and you can download a package that shows you how:

Yes you can try it if you like.
A few threads here about it:

DivX-movies-on-a-ps2-console-%E2%80%93-the-best-quick-guide/" target="_blank">http://www.avidardik.com/2005/10/29/how-...st-quick-guide/

It sounds a lot like you have to convert them or encode so the PS2 will recognize the avi's.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/245602

There is a tutorial here also on Reality media player 1.50:
http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=media.html

I think its a lot better if your PS2 is modded as a lot of them are capable of playing DivX without all this hassle.
