hi there i was readin ur forums about how to to get a saved file onto a usb flash drice and using ulaunchelf to work on the playstation 2.
i was wondering if there was a different way because im also confused on how to get ulaunchelf workin, im using action replay max and hav a 512mb usb flash drive but cant get my saved file on ma "MC" plz can u help me

All I did was copy ulaunch elf v4.08 to my USB drive, you have flash drive. I put all the files in the swapmagic folder, called the elf SMBOOT1(renamed of course) and then I just use my swapmagic to boot,then turn on usb drive, click SMBOOT1 and it works great. I then just had to follow the instructions on how to get the file save to my memory card.
The ulaunch elf I use is global edition, instructions are there, from my folder here the password is: windrider
Now with action replay max you should just be able to go to memory manager I believe and choose the file from usb flash and mc paste in the memory card. I havent used action replay max much so not quite sure. I will have a look at it in a bit.

hi there thanks for the software i was jus wonderin to i rename the iso file or do i call the folder "SMBOOT1" and also is there only ment to be 1 file, 2 note pad files and 1 jpeg file?

Ok this is only if you are using swapmagic to boot the ps2 to name folder SWAPMAGIC, inside it you would rename the elf file.
My computer is down at the moment being repaired so I don't have access to my files, and don't want to download them again on my laptop, but I believe there should be a system file, install file and the elf file that I put in my SWAPMAGIC folder. I should have my computer up in another day or so, depending on if my part comes, so I could check then what files I had.
But if you are using action max replay then you shouldn't need the elf launcher, you should be able to just go to Max memory manager and it should show your devices, meaning your memory cards and usb flash. You should then be able to load the save file from your usb flash and copy it to the memory card. I had a look last night and thats how it looked to me although I havent tried it.

Ok well I finally got a look at my drive and this is how it looks.
Like I say I first boot with swapmagic, then click on my usb drive( for you it would be insert usb flash drive) then I just click SMBOOT1 as thats what I named the elf file.
I should say that in my SWAPMAGIC FOLDER I also have SNES superstation, plus my swapmagic.
Then this picture will come up:

Then I just click filebrowser, and you should then see /mass and follow the instructions as in the first post of this thread.

ok i got all that sorted, now ma next probz is..
-is it possable to play back up games on ps2 slim w/o a mod chip
- can a play a muti region games (which is also a back up) on ps2
if so can sum1 pls tell me

I read through the whole thread, and I am wondering if this guide on the first page will work with an un-modded slim PS2
I read the tutorial a little more, and I realize in order to get ELFlauncher on the PS2 you must have swap magic. Is there anyway to get around this?

Yes I?ll try my best to help you,
All u need is:
? Action replay max
? USB flash drive
? One ps2 memo card
It does not matter which action replay max you I had gone with the free memo card
Read the step by step guide
?Go to www.gamefaq.com to download a saved game
?Once u done that copy the file to your usb pen drive
?Then turn action replay on with the ps2
?Go to memo manager
?Then select a device (USB pen drive)
?Your file should now be there
?Click on it and press copy or move (up to you) to the ps2 memo card
?Then after its done go to the ps2 memo card and press UNCRUSH
?Now the file should be on your ps2 memo card
Please note in not responsible for any memo data loss

Ok just so I am following what you are saying.... Do you mean you can't boot DVD or CD's or both with the PS2.
I am not sure there is any other way then as you need to have some DVD in to boot either ulaunch elf from either a DVD or your USB drive or USB flash drive.
I just put ulaunch elf on my USB drive, then I follow the procedures as in Post #1. I boot it up with SWAPMAGIC and renamed my ulaunch elf to SMBOOT1 as I described above in a post.

i use a mod chip and whenever im trying to use cd's in my ps2 they dont work but DVD's work properly cd's used to work on it but dont ny more so is there a way i can do it without magic swap or using a cd version as i went on the link on page 2 and theres a dvd link but that doesnt have u ulaunch on it only the cd version god this is making me pull my hair out :P

Just extract the ISO of Ulaunchelf and then burn to a DVD. Make sure that you choose DVD-ROM / UDF/ISO if using Nero.
I have read on another forum that this should work.
I finally read on another site the way to make my Ulaunch elf ISO work on a DVD is to make the Dummy file about 1GB and then it will burn to DVD. It works fine for me off usb drive.
Maybe someone else knows how to make it on DVD.
The Ulaunchelf I have by globalwar is great for usb drives or usb flash drives and booting with Swapmagic.
I really don't know how with a modded ps2 to do it. Sorry that doesnt help you out much.
I do have AR MAX EVO SWAPMAGIC Edition that will burn to DVD and boot up. You can use its memory manager with a usb flash drive.
