OMG 80 pages of Wiikey questions! who has time to look through all of them, but i see many people reiterating the same old issues.
Should i update? 3.2 is absolutely fine. First step if a game does not work
Going to 4.0 latest online update is not so cool, can't soft mod yet
Nintendo can see my wiikey; no they can't
Cant get SSBB to work; use latest Wiikey config disc and correct layer break
What dvd and what burn speed.
Don't buy cheap
burn at whatever speed works
start slow, 4x and burn faster, if they still work at 16X perfect use imgburn it works
I have a el cheapo scratched 3 year old DVD-rw that works
They are less than 50 cents each and games are 100 times that
Did I just save 40 pages worth of questions?

still no reply to my question.Did updating from wii music put an end to mario galaxy,ssb brawl.what is the update on wii music & can we downgrade & delete multiple channels.

Hi, hope anyone can enlighten me on my questions
1) i have v3.1j on a jap wii with a D2A wii chip running 1.9s WiiKey v1
Can i update my Wii to 3.2J? or 3.3J for that matter. Does updating to higher version screw up my wii?
2) when i load a back up on my wii, i could see it on my wii menu but when i run the game i get a black screen and the wii hangs, how do i fix it?
Any help is appreciated

If your bricked you could try the "free savemii"
YOu will need a gamecuble controller and then a wii game disc with update on it.

Anyone having problems should try BannerBomb , wow!! it's so damn easy.
Seriously, I made the mistake of updating to 3.3U and yes all my trucha signed games did not work anymore.
Had problems because I couldn't play donkey kong or punch out anymore.
So, the first thing I needed to do is to install the homebrew channel right? the whole twilight hack is a nightmare for me to do, too many steps :)
found this bannerbomb app and in 5 min got the homebrew channel installed. love it!
right now, followed the suggestions from the punch out thread, and installed some wads that prevent bricking the Wii.
now I'm updated to 4.0, and installed WiiGator, which also lets me play the trucha games I missed so much.
very very happy now.

I'm getting a really wierd problem, its alot like some on here but most get it fixed and not sure mine can be.
Tried older wii games and wii sports and wii top spin 3 work fine, then tried newer games i.e. fifa 09, call of duty world at war etc.
I get the error #001, unauthorized device.
So most topics say update to 1.9s update and it should work. (not sure chips current fw #).
1've tried from recovery disc 1.9b (5mins waited), then update 1.9b, 1.9g. 1.9s all the update discs will show up in the channel (gamecube logo) and start fine but all give "ERROR reading disc press any key 2 retry"
I've pressed reset key like 10 times on all discs and still wont read.
what more needs to be done to get my chip to update its driving me nuts.

the links at the top for 1.9s and the wiikey website both do not work, I click them and get an error. and yes I have a torrent client installed, are there newer links for those resources? thanks

C'mon, was it that hard to do a couple of extra clicks?
On the homepage (and every page on their website) there's a box in the sidebar called "Wiikey V1 info click here" that takes you right to it.

Hi All, I've had a modded Wii since the beginning and after moving and such, I really haven't touched my Wii in about a year. Anyways, none of my backups work anymore. The last thing I remmeber doing was August of 2008 and I got homebrew working. At that time or before all backups worked awesome. Now I get an "unable to read disc error" on just backups. My originals still work. I've tried updating with 1.9s and it can't read those discs (update or config). What do I need to do?

Hi, hope anyone can help me with some questions !
I have v3.2E on a EU Wii with a Wii key chip running 1.9s firmware
Can i update my Wii to the latest software version with just hooking it up to the internet ? Or should i do this on another way ?
So far everything works fine on my current setup like HBC , USBLoader 1.5 , Wad manager etc .
Appreciate the help !

Why is there something specific you need answered.

He, like a lot of us, probably got tired of answering the same questions ad mauseum because people wouldn't take the time to try reading even the first few pages of the thread.
Yes, this thread is 80 pages long, but it's pretty much the same 4 or 5 questions being asked over and over and over with minor variations that new posters don't take the time to realize are the same questions as theirs just worded a little differently, and without trying to extrapolate the answer, ask their question again.
That being said, I have a Wiikey 1 running on 1.9s an NTSC-U Wii, I have taken every upgrade to 4.0U.Everything that I've tried to run that's in-region works without a problem. I do not try to run out of region stuff.
Most of the problems that I see people run into are caused by:
1)Running out of region backups
2)Taking out of region update (the #1 no-no)
3)Downrev Wiikey software (no reason NOT to run 1.9g or 1.9s)
4)Crappy DVD media
5)Not taking the time to read this thread and realize that the problem is usually caused by one of the first 4 things in the list.

Why is there something specific you need answered.
No I was just curious. Followed the thread since it started and then he just disappeared. I can understand people get tired of answering the same questions all the time, but the interest of Wii doesn´t usually go away just because of that.
Couldn´t he hang around and skip all those questions? :P

NTSC Wii 4.0u (updated with "The Conduit")
no homebrew/softmod
using only DVDs no usb stuff
can I use the Indiana Jones Staff of kings NTSC update?
From what I've read, it seems that staff of kings uses version 3.4 right?
I'm assuming that I skipped from 3.2 to 4.0 so now it wants 3.4, but I'm gonna wait till somebody who really knows this stuff confirms this for me...

hey
recently i burned"the conduit", inserted disk, asked for update- which after checking out google i saw it was safe for wiikey users and it only affected homebrew - accepted update. before update completion got a message that an error has occured, remove disk and turn off system.
After restarting the wii, none of my backups worked, only originals did.
My wii is modded with a wiikey. i use generic wii patcher to remove errors. firmware was 3.1e before conduit update now it shows 3.4e.
i burn with img burn and use verbatim

Hi - if you use brickblocker on the iso, then re-burn, you can just boot without update prompt. hope this helps.

I would just update through the Wii using the network system update, or use the Original disc.
Your probably just missing something, an IOS, that won't allow you to play your backups.

I was able to boot, and play the game, but It's freezing at various points :(
I'm assuming my wii is missing whatever IOS that Indy needs...
too bad, seems like a fun one - I always liked LucasArts games
